Firstly I'd like to thank Luisa for giving us early check-in. After a 40+ hour journey, early check-in to a quiet room was a lifesaver! We're so grateful! Secondly, I'd like to thank Alicia for the breakfast deal. Breakfast turn out to be one of the highlights of our stay. Last but not least, nice young man at the bar who gave us buckets of ice, security gentleman with glasses who helped us with luggage and taxi, thank you for your help.
Now about the hotel. Top location, 10 minutes walk to Sagrada Familia. It's in a quiet and safe area. Room is spacious enough with a real king size bed at least 1.8x2m, very comfortable, great night sleep. Guests very civilized, no slamming doors, no noise of moving furniture. A few guests decided to have a loud chat in the hallway before 4 am, but that was it. Light-blocking curtains. If you're looking for a place to recover from jetlag, this is it. Room also has a small balcony where you can have the glass door ajar, to let some fresh air in. It's not for a view or standing or sitting. But if you want to air out your sneakers after a long walking day, it's great.
Now some suggestions for improvement. In a city with reasonable / affordable costs (taxi airport to hotel 37 euro, dining out in nice restaurant for two people 70-80 euro), 350 euro a night for this four star (I think) hotel is vastly out of balance. It's too expensive for what it is. And if you must charge this much, please be a lot more generous with daily supplies (shower gel, tea, bottled water, toilet paper etc), they are low cost items but the lack of them can create such inconvenience. The toilet seat is so so uncomfortable, please do something about them. Sorry for my loooong review.
Barcelona is an amazing city with lovely people. If you are considering if you should visit it, the answer is yes.
