To be clear, Begur is no St Tropez, but for me it has many of its best bits which are little boutique shopping streets, medieval churches, artisan ice cream shops, a small central square with a smattering of above average cafe restaurants and unlike most places, easy parking! This is a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon or an evening, and another little hideaway in the unspoilt section of the Costa Brava.

We have just returned from a very relaxing 2 week vacation in Begur. Begur is a vibrant yet authentic village set on a hill 3 km from the Mediterranean. It has a castle, great restaurants, beautiful narrow passage ways with lots of interesting shops a great Wednesday market and 2 squares that are the hub for music and dancing. What’s not to like. Add to this that you are within 20 mins of at least 10 perfect beaches and you have the full set. Go, you will not be sorry you did.
