This is a wonderful hotel. It is tucked in a side street so can be difficult to find upon arrival, but it's in an excellent location and offers more than I would have expected. They have snacks available for guests from 10am-10pm -- this includes coffee, tea, small sandwiches, yogurt, potato chips, soup, pastries, water (ice available), meatballs. Amenities include a swimming pool and terrace (which we didn't get to try) on the 6th floor, and a small gym area, steam room, and whirlpool (in the shape of a small swimming pool) in the -1 floor (which we did try; seem to be rarely used but clean and a nice amenity). They even stop by in the evening to give a chocolate truffle to each guest (they'll put them by your pillow if you're not in while they make the rounds). The bathroom included the usual shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, body lotion, and shower cap, but also a vanity kit, a dental kit, a shaving kit, and tissues. The shower has an overhead shower head as well as a handheld shower head (useful when I didn't want to get my hair wet but didn't want to bother with a shower cap); the dials are on the side so that you can step aside until the water is at the temperature you want. The staff at the reception desk were helpful and friendly and the rooms were always clean. When we checked out, we didn't actually have to leave yet and the hotel held our bags a few hours -- they gave us each a bottle of water and were invited us to access the facilities when we returned from our last trek around the city before departing. When it was time for us to leave, the concierge helped us to bring luggage down the street to the main road where it would be easier for us to hail a taxi. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel if I were to return to Barcelona and would recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quality 4-star hotel experience.
