Okay stay

Reviewed Aug 17, 2022
Check in was a good experience. Upon driving up the gentlemen were there to help us with luggage. Much appreciated! Two of our three rooms were available immediately; however, we did have to wait a few hours for the third room to be available. The room need some updating as the wallpaper was coming off in some areas and the paint needs some touch ups. The bathroom is extremely small! We were there for only two nights so it was ok.

I know we were there during the heat wave, but my brother's room was extremely hot! There was a portable AC unit, but it wasn't going below 30 C. When we asked the front desk to move them, we were given the runaround. Finally, they sent up the maintenance man and he agreed that they needed to be moved. Once moved to the other room they were able to cool down and it was more comfortable. Mine and my daughter's rooms were cool, and the AC worked well.

The breakfast buffet was good. We were told that the breakfast was included but upon checkout they had charged us 22 pounds per person. The manager did take care of it for us.

It is a huge Muslim area, and the hotel did seem to cater to them with their food choices. I think that was great!

The gym was nice and practical.

The hotel is out quite a bit if you are wanting to do the main tourist attractions in central London. It was okay for us as we enjoy walking. There are always taxi's available at the hotel too. We did move over to the Marriott London County Hall so we could be closer to the center of everything.

A decidedly mixed experience. In general I like this hotel a lot for its location and friendliness. But the rooms are just super tired and old and in this day and age how do you have no plug for your phone near the bed. That just needs to be fixed. The bar at the hotel which doubles as the lounge is super nice.

Room tip: Summers are hot in the hotel if you have a room without good air conditioning.

As Titanium members, we were excited to get a “suite” upgrade, which meant two double beds. However, we were originally offered a room on the 1st floor and had to ask for higher. We were given a cramped room on the 5th floor. Finally, Annemarie took over and took care of us and got us a nice room on the 9th floor. Note that the rooms were only partially renovated, still have the old furniture and headboards, which are showing there wear. Best part of the hotel was the staff, especially at the Pickled Hen. Except for the original guy at check in, everyone was so nice and helpful. Cleaning crew needs a little more training. We like the location as it’s close to two tube stops and easy walk or bike to Hyde Park and many sights.

A one night stay before traveling back to the US. Arrived late evening but had put requests for certain toiletry items via the Marriott app during the reservation. Was quickly checked in and was in my room within a few minutes. Room was a little tired and could do with some renovations, but overall was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately the requested toiletry items were not in the room and after a couple of attempts was able to speak to the front desk who said they would get the items to me but they never appeared. I left early morning to get to Paddington.

We were in London for the Farnborough Air Show and stayed at the Marriott Marble Arch. I have to say from the GM to the front door attendant, all the staff were helpful, attentive and polite. As I travel a lot, both domestically and internationally, it is a joy to have a hotel ‘team’ you can count on. My congrats to GM Stephanie, and her entire team!

Room tip: Quiet and convenient, this hotel represents great value.

Stayed for two nights as a couple in a standard room. The location is excellent, really close to Hyde Park and Marble Arch, plus some lovely local hostelries tucked away behind the business of Oxford Street. The room was probably due for a refurb, but it was clean, the bed was really comfy and the shower was really strong. We ate lunch there when we arrived, which was lovely and breakfast too which offered a huge choice from the buffet. All the staff I met were polite and very helpful, doing things like offering extra bottles of water to help recover from the heat. I didn't see the gym facilities, but it was so close to Hyde Park I went for a run around that instead. I would definitely recommend staying there.
