This was a last minute booking for a trip with the family going to La Union. We wanted to stay in San Juan but the place where we wanted to stay was fully booked so we chose China Sea instead. We stayed here for 2 nights - we had 3 separate rooms for 2.
We didn't expect much but the place is pretty charming and the buildings were quite new. They had a fair size of a swimming pool which is alright for swimming and dipping (didn't get to swim there though). The view is pretty nice with the restaurant facing the sea, which is not good for swimming as it is high tide most of the time and the waves were pretty rough when we went there (and it kind of had a funny fishy smell, not sure what that was).
Our room was the bungalow type facing the reception. The room we were in was clean but I'm not too sure about the bathroom. The lightings were a bit dark - going for a romantic atmosphere, I guess? The airconditioner temperature goes cold quickly but the AC in the room (one upstairs) that our other family members had didn't work properly so it was a bit hot in their room. They called it in reception but they just gave them a huge electric fan.
We also had free breakfast with our room - I think it was only available for rainy season. The breakfast was okay; they had a variety to choose from which were Filipino style and also had a choice of hot (tea, coffee) or cold (orange juice) beverages.
We also had dinner there on our last night and the price, quantity, and quality of the food were good and fair.
The customer service was on point as well. They had friendly and hospitable staff in the place. Kudos to the guard who was very friendly, he was greeting and talking to every guests :)
Overall, our stay in China Sea was top notch. The place is pretty nice and it is very affordable!
