I stayed in the Burntwood off and on for almost a month and got to know the front desk and the housekeeping staff really well. They were always very cordial and helpful. I liked that the rooms had free wifi, a fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. These items are really convenient when you are away from home for an extended period of time. There is a newer section where the rooms are a little bit bigger and quieter but lugging my suitcase up the stairs myself was not particularily pleasant (there is no elevator). The second floor rooms which are closer to the desk turned out to be more convenient for me. The noise from the stairs and the ice maker made it difficult for me to get an uninterupted sleep in room 201 but I really enjoyed having a seperate sitting area. There is another room like it at 200 and this was far quieter. Even though housekeeping does their very best, there is a smell of smoke even on the non-smoking floor. I suppose this is the case for any hotel that is not new construction.
I loved that complimentary breakfasts at Grapes on the main floor were included in the room stay. For more details about this aspect and photos, please feel free to check out my blog post at:http://foodmusings.ca/uncategorized/grapes-thompson/
