a noisy, disturbed night, and not especially comfortable.

NOISY! We could hear every squeak, word & whisper from our neighbours (and upstairs). Twice we answered a knock on the door only to find it was for our neighbours.
The AC unit whistled with the wind.
The included breakfast was good, but PLEASE STOP USING CHEAP PAPER PLATES AND PLASTIC CUTLERY! It does not do the job. Plates would bend when carrying them (there was kids' food all over the floor)! Forks would break when trying to pierce a sausage or fruit. Tea spoons are too small for cereal.
Personally, I found the bed too soft - my hips ached in the morning.
Lastly, it was expensive for what it was (and I'm not referring to the lobby renovations)

Room tip: Maybe ask for an end or top-floor room to minimize noise from neighbours.

Did The Job

Checked in late on a Saturday night and the hotel was full. As a result, parking was a little hard to find.

Check in was quick and upon discovering the place was full of baseball families for a tournament, we were a little concerned. However, it was quiet so good on the hotel for that.

Room was basic, normal and dated. Television reception was terrible and beds were a little soft for our liking but things seemed fairly clean.

Breakfast looked pretty standard but as the breakfast area was packed, we passed.

All in all a decent, basic property but quite expensive at $ 300+ a night.

Average accommodation

Our checkin was slow and staff seemed unorganized. Room and washroom looked dated. Tissue box holder was broken in our room and there was no tissue box when we checked in. Good thing that price included an acceptable breakfast and we stayed only one night.

Likely not going to return - went excited for the pool, which was not great/not clean

The room was sufficient however there was a smell (mildew). Walls were dirty in the room.
The pool area was extremely unkempt. We swam both days of our stay and the pool deck was covered in hair, dirt and other gross things. It didn't change between the two days. Doesn't seem the deck was ever mopped. Shower at the pool didn't work well and there was hair all over the wall. Hot tub water was grey and slimy looking. Did not go in hot tub.

Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Noise was a big issue when we stayed. No quiet hallway enforcement done into the night.

GOOD LOCATION - FRIENDLY STAFF

Good location, just off Trans Canada highway. Close to shopping mall and plaza with small variety of stores and restaurants. Warm pool and hot tub for relaxing break after a day of driving/hiking. Pleasant front desk staff - efficient, good suggestions for where to eat and driving instructions. Would stay again.
