My husband and I were set to get married on 11/27/2020 at Playa Fiesta. COVID of course had other plans, but we finally had our long-awaited wedding celebration on 11/26/2021, and it was worth the wait!!! Playa Fiesta was everything we could dream of and more! What sold us on the decision to choose Playa Fiesta for our wedding were truly the hundreds of reviews raving about the place, the staff, the food, the hospitality, the perfect wedding day, etc. So we had very high expectations, and I am NOT kidding, they were exceeded in every single way!
The place: Having never seen Playa Fiesta in person, we honestly didn’t know what to expect besides what we had seen in pictures. The hotel was so charming and romantic and had perfect backdrops at every turn! Every single one of our guests loved this place so much!!!! We had a small group, so every single guest had a room with an ocean view, and everyone got a suite! Honestly, the amount of time spent in the rooms was minimal, so even if we would have had to give someone a smaller room, I don’t think they would have minded! The wedding suite was amazing, but my husband and I fell in love with the 1 bedroom penthouse and chose that as our room for our stay. The accommodation was made without a problem! The sunsets are to die for! The pools were perfect, set at the perfect temperature and there is even a hot tub. We loved the beach as well and got to spend some time in the ocean, but I would say this beach in particular is not the most kid friendly (we did have 5 kids during our wedding week, who all had an amazing time). The only thing I would mention that doesn’t take away from this magical place, just something to keep in mind, is that it is not accessible for wheelchairs. When you enter the hotel, you are on the third floor. The pools, bar, and restaurant are on the first floor. There are first floor rooms with direct access to all of this, but in order to enter/ exit the hotel, there are stairs only. There are also steps to go down to the beach and to get to the wedding terrace. We spent one day away doing an excursion, and if there is one thing I could change about our entire wedding week, it would have been to spend that time at Playa Fiesta instead!!!
The food: EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! We had one guest with dietary restrictions that was accommodated very well. Everything was so fresh and authentic, and our wedding dinner was beyond impressive! We included the package with a dinner every night and it was worth it! Stress free, convenient and so filling! Our wedding was over the week of Thanksgiving, so we even had a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The drinks were made to perfection every single time!!!
The staff: I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH WORDS TO THANK THE AMAZING STAFF AT PLAYA FIESTA!!! They are truly what make the entire experience magical!!! Every single staff member is extremely attentive, remembers your name, your orders, greets you every time they see you, answers any question, is ready to help or assist at any moment, and truly are there to make sure your entire wedding party has an amazing time! I have absolutely nothing negative to say, and every single one of our guests feels the same!
The wedding: I will begin with the wedding coordinators, Gabi and Lindsay. They have this entire process down so well, that you truly just get to sit back and enjoy the week and your wedding day without any stress! I never imagined a wedding day going so seamlessly perfect, but with Gabi and Lindsay literally being there from beginning to end, it was nothing less than that! They are there to help in any way possible, and go above and beyond for not only the wedding couple, but for the entire wedding party! The wedding day in itself, ahhhhhhhh let’s just say I still feel like it was all a dream! My husband wanted to get married on a beach, but not on the beach because he didn’t want sand in his shoes. Doesn’t make any sense right?! Except, the terrace where the ceremony takes place is basically on the beach but not actually on the beach! It was the perfect setting for our ceremony! The reception was beautifully set up, included with the decorations I brought from home, and everything came together beautifully! The rest of the night was so so fun, I only wish time would have slowed down! The firework show is a must!!! We ended up wanting to add one more hour of open bar last minute, and the transaction was made right then and there without a problem. We waited a really really long time for this day, and it was beyond PERFECT, all thanks to Playa Fiesta!
The vendors: The massages were AMAZING! Make sure to upgrade to the hour, you will not regret it! Our cake was so delicious (we chose amaretto)!!! The taste trial at the beginning of our week was such a nice touch! The fire jugglers at our welcome night were a great way to kick off the week! The DJ did an amazing job at keeping everyone on the dance floor all night long! He already had a couple of playlists that I made on Spotify for the cocktail and dinner hour, along with the specific songs being used throughout the day, and it all went so smoothly! The flowers were to die for!!!!! Such an amazing job, I was even able to bring my bouquet back to the states to preserve and so happy I did! We ended up using the silk flowers to hang for the ceremony, and I was very impressed! The photographer we chose was Yanen, and she literally had sneak peeks back to us the very next day!!!!!! Sandra Briones, SB Films, was our videographer, along with two others videographers, as we chose the package with drone footage. We are so anxiously awaiting our final videos/ photos, but I can say that throughout the entire wedding day, they somehow seemed to capture it all without making us feel like it was taking away from our day. Candidness is what we were going for, and both of them were perfect for that! We were able to meet with each of them virtually prior to our wedding week to go over all the details, which made the actual wedding day go by smoothly. For hair and makeup, I had the trial done where I ended up deciding to do my own makeup on my wedding day. There wasn’t necessarily anything wrong with the way my makeup was done. Actually, my mom, mother in law, and aunt still got their make-up done for the wedding day and it looked good! The makeup application techniques were just not the up-to-date modern techniques (such as eyebrows, contouring, eye shadow, liner) that are popularly used today or that were used in the example picture that I showed her I wanted. Again, we still had her perform 3 makeup services on the wedding day, and they turned out nice! The only thing I will say was surprising and a little disappointing was the quality of the makeup that was brought in and I actually had her use my own makeup at the trial. She did an excellent job with our hair! She was the sweetest lady and made sure that every single person was happy with their hair and makeup service!
In conclusion, I will spend the rest of my life trying to convince every friend and family member looking to get married to have their wedding at PLAYA FIESTA!!!! The week we spent there, and our wedding day, will be something we talk about forever, and dream of reliving endlessly! If you are contemplating getting married here- DO IT!!!! And if you need a room to be filled to meet your minimum, keep us in mind (;
