Great experience, planning to come back. Great affordable room ocean view, clean, comfortable, awesome bed. Kind and efficient customer service. Location is pretty good as well. Close to Malecon and Zona Rosa, walkable and safe at night. Being a bit north of zona Centro provides quiet athmosphere as well.

It’s my 7th or 8th time coming to this hotel since 2013 for a night or two and I keep coming back. Love the ocean view room, the beautiful sunset and love that the hotel is close to the Malecon. Hotel is very well maintained and the service is outstanding.

We love to stay at El Pescador Hotel. The location is perfect for walking along the Malecon and there is easy access to hundreds of great restaurants, grocery stores and our favorite sports bar. The hotel is spotless and right on the ocean for wonderful views, whale watching and beautiful sunsets. The staff are very friendly and courteous. We have visited many times and will be back again next year.

We have been staying at this quaint hotel for the past three years. Sometimes, like this year, twice. Once on January 2024 and then again in March 2024. The hotel is old but very clean and charming. Beach front so pay the extra bit for ocean front room. Sergio working the pool bar and restaurant was a gem. I wish I could say that about the rest of the staff. If it wasn't for some of the staff this would be a 5 star review. The security guys were so rude treating a bunch of 60+ guests like we were criminals or something. Did not make us feel welcome and glared at us if we met family in the lobby. We were spied upon when we first checked in because we wanted to show our sister and brother in law the hotel and rooms. We couldn't book them with us since the hotel was full. The security guy came to the room... it was 3pm in the afternoon....and kicked them out. Only checked guests can be in the rooms. Ok I respect that if that's your rule. But no need to be ignorant about it. He told us we could only meet people who were not staying at the hotel in the lobby. So we went there. Two days later after we came back from an excursion at 5pm the same security guy kicked us out of the lobby now saying no one can be in the hotel. Wow ok....again he was rude rude rude. One evening my brother walked me back to the hotel so I wouldn't be alone and the security freaked out and yelled at him to leave. I tried to explain he was making sure I got back ok. Again, wow. We are older people not punks trying to sneak in for a party. We also wanted to pay for a day pass so that sister/brother in law could come to the pool. At first the front desk said no problem 100 pesos. But when we tried to do it a couple days later we were told no guests can come on weekends. Only Monday through Thursday and it was now 400 pesos. And staff was rude. I tried to speak with the manager but that person was in a meeting and unavailable. Front desk said manager would reach out, never did. Oh and you can only have a hair dryer for one hour. What hotel does that? All I'm all I will think twice about staying there again. Lots of places to stay in PV. No issues with housekeeping. We would have spent more time and money at the hotel if they were more reasonable about visitors. We offered to sit in the restaurant to order some drinks and visit were also told no guests. Security has a job to do and again, I can respect that, if they show the same respect to guests of the hotel. We have recommended this hotel to many family and friends. Brought some with us to stay there. Not sure I will recommended it with the same enthusiasm as before

Room tip: Buy yourself a pillow from the store. Pillows are horrible. Views are great

DO NOT!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! I have stayed at El Pescador for the past 4 Januarys, but no more. Each year, the prices have sky-rocketed and the return has depleted. They have totally priced themselves out of the market. This year's visit was proof positive. Virtually none of the people who have been there year after year (Americans and Canadians) returned this year. This year was obviously not booked in full and the visitors were mostly Mexican families from other parts of the country. They have now started offering day passes, so you can hardly use the pool area in the afternoons, as it is filled with local Mexican children. It is one of the oldest hotels in the city and although it is kept clean, it is OLD. In the past 4 years, the prices have TRIPLED and keep rising while what is given in return depletes. The "continental breakfast" offered is next to nothing and the service is the same. Although the continental breakfast is included with your room price, we found that we went there only for coffee before going somewhere else for breakfast. In looking at prices for reservations for the coming year (2025), the prices have again increased dramatically. i am currently shopping other options and will not be staying at El Pescador again.

Room tip: Keep your expectations low.
