Cute and cozy!

Reviewed Jun 10, 2019via mobile
Spent the last 5 days at Gems and it was most relaxing.
Just a walk through the car park and bar brings you to the most beautiful beach Grenada has to offer. Quiet and relaxing. The view of the ocean from the room’s balcony is picture perfect.
Getting around we had a car and would definitely recommend. A lot of activity happening on the roads leading in with upgrades so road is a bit bumpy.
The room itself could do with some upgrading. Uncomfortable couch, “big back” old school television, very dim lighting in bedroom and bathroom, no long mirror in bedroom. But to be honest none of these affected us greatly as we spent most of the days at the beach so the room was just a means of shower and sleep lol.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. A few stragglers on the beach kept harassing (and I use that word loosely) us by constantly walking past requesting our attention and trying to engage in conversation despite mentioning we just want to relax alone.
Perfectly located next door to Plywood Restaurant - a must try when at Grenada.

I keep going back, because I arrive with a smile and leave with one, too. It's all about the staff and the location. The values is good, too. I like having an apartment, and it is rare to find one of this size and quality on one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere. The water is gentle in the bay to allow good swimming. The restaurant at the Gem and the one at the sister property, the Kalinago, have added some tasty new items. Seriously, give the Gem a try. I shouldn't say that though. It can be a challenge to get a room, because the property is very popular with many returnees,

Room tip: Ocean view, all of which have balconies overlooking the water.

This is our 2nd stay at the Gem Holiday Beach Resort. The location is perfect - right on a beautiful sandy beach and an easy walk to stores and Grand Anse. There are 2 places to eat a few steps away right on the beach.
The staff are wonderful! We were welcomed back with a room upgrade which was totally unexpected. The front desk helped plan excursions and taxis as needed.
We would love to return for another visit!

Room tip: Try to get a room overlooking the beach! Great sunsets over the water!

It is so close to beach and big balconies where the sunsets are amazing ! spice mall for shopping, you can walk there but it is a few hills so taxi is better. If you don't mind driving on the left - you can rent a car. Staff really try to help you and are always ready to assist to make your stay fantastic. The rooms were cleaned every day.We also booked the beach BBQs and that was an enjoyable way to end the day. We liked it so much we have already booked for next year!

Value was outstanding! We had a two bedroom villa to accommodate our friends and my husband and I. The villa had a beachy decor, was clean and bedrooms had A/C and full kitchen with fridge. We had a porch area with a table and chairs and a lounger. Front desk staff were friendly and most accommodating. The restaurant has a beach bar and is located across the parking area - can't beat that! Food was excellent! The hotel has a sister hotel located right next door - Kalingo, and Gem guests have access to their amenities - one being a Tiki Bar! Saturday nights is the BBQ on the beach and has a very romantic atmosphere with tiki torches. We stayed here pre and post for a cruise and most definitely would stay here again!

Room tip: All rooms face the ocean. Gem was under a remodel construction, but guests were offered to be moved to Kalingo, sister hotel next door.

The rooms slightly dated compared to what I’m used to but I guess in comparison to most Caribbean hotels, it’s on par. I like that the rooms are self catering and even though it’s on a steep hill, the beach is near.
