My partner and I went for a week and overall, had a great time. This is definitely a budget resort so don’t expect to be wined and dined, but if you just want to enjoy drinks and sunshine on a bit of a budget, this resort is a great option.

Rooms:
We had a standard room. The bed was large and comfortable. The view was beautiful. Our AC only worked on our first night there and the rest of the week the temperature in the room sat around 26-26 degrees celcius, so quite warm and not the most comfortable for sleeping. Our bathroom had some leaks, one around the toilet so the floor was always wet and one that dripped from the ceiling. The furniture was pretty outdated and all 3 of our lamps were broken. The cleaning was inconsistent, sometimes it was done okay and other times it was hard to tell that it had even been cleaned. We found that tip amount left had no influence over how well the room was cleaned. Overall, rooms were very mediocre but worked well enough as we didn’t spend too much time in the room anyway.

Food:
Food was mediocre. The buffet was just okay, enough to not go hungry but nothing that wowed us. It was after very busy and it was often a challenge to find a seat, dishes, and cutlery. We found that going early in the morning for breakfast and a somewhat early dinner to be the best time to go to avoid the crowd. We went to 2 a la cartes. They are very difficult to book. The office that does the bookings opens at 7:00am on Sundays and when we went at 7 on the dot, there was already an hour+ long line. We were able to score reservations at the Tokyo and the Italian restaurant. The Tokyo restaurant was great! Food and service were both great. Only downside was that it felt a little bit rushed, we were in and out within an hour. The Italian restaurant was also pretty good. Food was good and service was pretty good.

Drinks:
Drinks were a highlight for sure. All of the drinks I tried were great and service at all the bars were generally good. Certain times of day, the bars can get pretty crowded so it’s typical to wait in line for a minute before ordering your drink but staff move pretty quickly. Staff are great at making drinks with as much or as little alcohol as you would like.

Pool & beach:
Both the pool and the beach are also highlights of our trip. It can be difficult to get chairs at either. We would typically go down around 7am to reserve our chairs but if you had a large group, you would need to go earlier. Both pools are beautiful and clean. It can get a little loud by the pool with the entertainment, but we really enjoyed this atmosphere and had a very fun time. The beach is incredibly clean with no seaweed and great for going on long walks. During our trip, the waves were pretty strong but we still were able to enjoy the ocean. There are a couple of games (giant chess and cornhole) beside the pool as well. The pool and beach was easily the best part of our trip.

Gym:
My partner and I both enjoy going to the gym so we went a few times throughout our trip. They have dumbbells up to I believe 50lbs, a smith machine, a couple cable machines including a lat pulldown, 2 treadmills, and 3 adjustable benches. Equipment was extremely old and the dumbbells were not labelled. It was an okay gym for getting a lift in.

Wifi:
Wifi was strong and reliable in our room. It was good in the buffet and okay in some parts of the lobby. I did not have connection in other parts of the lobby, in the gym, beside the pool, or on the beach. Overall pretty good even if it didn’t reach everywhere on the resort.

Overall, my partner and I had a good time at the resort. We are young and booked a trip on a student budget so we did not have high expectations, especially given many of the reviews for this hotel. It is definitely a ‘what you make of it’ resort. The rooms, food, and service are only mediocre, but if you just want sunshine, drinks, and to spend time at the pools and beach, you can have a really great time.
