Wonderful vacation. Check in a bit confusing, we were upgraded from Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro to Bahia principe Aquamarine, we had a problem with one of the bands to enter a room, but it was quickly resolved. All employees of Aquamarine were incredibly. Friendly and helpful to make our stay the best. Luis and the entertainment team are always looking to make sure guests are having a good time. The employees at the buffet go beyond to make sure you have a great meal , especially Drahinin. The food was varied and had a bit of everything. No matter the pickiest eater, they would find something to eat.
Lots of activities, on the pool, in the main lobby always something to do. Zumba, games, dancing, Kareoke. There was even a wine tasting with a sommelier. Drinks were varied. There are many chairs around the three pools to relax and soak up the sun. Rooms are a bit outdated but spacious and are clean daily. There are shops on the premises. The sports bar is a great hangout at night. the wings are awesome. I recommend this hotel whether you are looking to party or to relax.

Just featured after a weeks stay. Firstly check in was smooth, we had a 3rd floor room which was huge and everything you would need( lick of paint needed though) We used the buffet for our food on most occasions bar 1 when we used the sports bar for pub grub! The staff in the restaurant are up beat and friendly and make sure you are catered for in every meal. They seem to change staff morning / dinner/ evening but all had the customer service expected. Hats off to all chefs who work so hard at every station prepping fresh food whilst you wait. The egg man was very quick, serving at least 4 ppl at a time! The entertainment team are a credit to this hotel, working tirelessly throughout the day / night and you can tell they really love their jobs. There are 3 pools and plenty of sun loungers so no getting up a crack of dawn to reserve one! The resort is huge and comprises of 4 other hotels so you can walk or get a trolley cart to take you around. All in all we had an amazing relaxing holiday and will definitely return in the future. Thankyou to all at The Aquamarine.

Stayed 6/18-23. Stayed here for my birthday, noted that on my reservation and did not have any type of happy birthday anything although other guests had banners on their hotel doors for special occasions. The woman who was supposed to help us when we arrived didn’t care about anything but being off work until Saturday as she told her colleagues, her shift was almost over. She left and never even told us our room was ready. Check in was supposed to be 3:00 we had to wait about 25 minutes. We did not receive any type of welcome drink or introduction as of what is available to us on the resort which had us lost the whole trip and having to keep asking the lobby where things are because not many people speak English who work there. Although Gladys was very helpful she was the only one that was very pleasant.

The original “suite” we received included a broken tv, a shower falling apart & dirty at that and a balcony view of a huge white wall from construction being done. We requested a new room but it was not that great either. There is mold on the decorative pillows and the power and water went out twice while showering. Prepare to walk up flights of stairs also no elevator.

Food is terrible here, 1/10 not recommended. The “snack bar’s” food is inedible I wouldn’t feed it to my dog. The buffet is not great. Restaurants you need to make a reservation for are also terrible, no flavor or spices very bland. This is supposed to be “adults only” but when you make reservations for the restaurants there are kids there. If you want food after 8pm forget about it because there is none.

Pool life is relaxing but definitely not a turn up spot. Entertainment after the pool is non existent. We booked coco bongo club for $171/person and that was the only good part of the trip although it was very expensive and there were not enough seats on the bus back- I had to sit on my husbands lap, how nice. We also went to a “Dominican fiesta” that was $22/person that was terrible. They Said there would be “real Dominican food” there but it was the same stuff from our resort.

Drinks are very weak even with double shots. I drank and drank and did not get drunk once in the 5 days here. Alcohol seems like water, every drink is over sweetened.

Prepare to get asked 10x a day to book an excursion- super annoying. Amstar told us to arrive at a certain time to book our transfer home & we had to wait 20 minutes - the guy said “what are you guys in a rush?” As if we wanted to sit there all day while on vacation to wait for him.

Overall I must have missed the bad reviews while booking this hotel. This is my 3rd time in Punta Cana, I do not recommend this resort and will not be returning.
RIU is much better.

NOT A 5 STAR HOTEL 3-4 STAR MAX.
first room had hundred of ants broken furniture, hairs in bath and was dirty., complained and they said they would send someone up to sort it, went back to room that night to find nothing had been done. Complained again got moved but as it was an upgraded room we had to pay towards this.
I had to complain on 3 occasions as the mini bar was never topped up.
The WiFi offered by the hotel is very unstable which would be fine normally howere the resort reliase on there app for viewing restaurant menus and bar menus. Also booking activities and restaurants is all done on the app.
Staff were very friendly but easy to see they were understaffed by the lack of personal service like not always getting coffee served at breakfast etc.
Pools were nice and the resort in general was clean.
