I planned to celebrate my 60th birthday with a family dinner on Thursday 1st December.
Dinner party were 14 persons...and we were seated just on time ( 7PM) , and soon proceeded to order drinks, followed by starters and mains.
Pros- The rum punch was very good.
Cons- The waitress, although pleasant...was not very competent since she got some of the orders wrong especially the starters..one person got chicken caesar salad that he did not order, and my niece never got her fish cakes in the end. When challenged about issue, the waitress stated that "this is a big order". The thing is we were just one of 2 tables being served that night ...(other table had 2 guests).
Apart from the service, the food was not all up the standard...my young niece and nephews enjoyed the pizzas they ordered.
However, those who ordered the pasta found it to be undercooked, ..my sister-in-law actually pointed it out and her meal had to be returned ..the second plate was better cooked but the portion size was smaller then the original plate.
The macaroni pie ...three portions were slightly charred (burnt)....well more than slightly to be honest.
The main course took forever to serve and was very sporadic .....one person finally received their main at 9:40 pm...after we were seated from 7 pm and orders were taken more than an hour.
But what was worse than the food and poor service was the attitude of one other waitress..she was abrupt and totally unprofessional. Her role in the hospitality sector should be limited to raking the leaves on the beach.
Overall, this experience totally ruined the night and the celebration me and my family and friends were anticipating.
It was a waste of money,...after liaising with Dean (financial controller) I refused to pay service charge .....but I am of the view that the bill should be have been adjusted significantly to compensate for such awful service.
