I had a wonderful stay at this hotel for a week in December. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. There was one woman (I don't recall her name) in housekeeping who was especially friendly and really made me feel well taken care of. I stayed here mostly for the location, but would return because of my experience.

We spent six nights here after a Caribbean cruise. If we had known before the cruise how Barbados is such a disappointment we would not have bothered.
Costing almost £300 per night including breakfast it is very poor value. The rooms are quite nice apart from the bathroom which was circa 1985. That sort of price in London would get you an excellent hotel with a great breakfast.
Breakfast here reminded us of school dinners with trestle tables holding containers containing luke warm food.
On the plus side the staff were usually polite and friendly.
The problem is that all hotels in Barbados are dramatically overpriced, especially for a country which is so rundown. Terrible roads with few pedestrian pavements that are usable and a preponderance of shanty towns. Few beaches where you can safely swim in comfort due to heavy seas and rapidly deepening water. For this in February you can easily pay up to £1000 per night for a good hotel!
It is not in the best part of Barbados, for that we discovered you need to be on the west coast around Holetown.
We completed a report requested by the hotel and received an apology. After suggesting that the best apology would be a partial refund for such an overpriced hotel we heard nothing.
We found it interesting that when we spoke to people who had previously visited Barbados and other parts of the Carribean the general impression was never again!
