Overpriced

Reviewed Nov 20, 2022via mobile
- poorly maintained facilities. Dirty and some areas smelled bad.

-cheap toiletries(bring your own) toothbrushes could scratch ypue gums out.

- I got electrocuted by touching the cabana roof trying to step out. Lots of electricals aroubd the resort are busted or failing. (There was a used salonpas sticker on the cabana pole.

- difficult to find service. Staff seemed overworked. no direct line to front desk/ customer service ( this is particularly frustrating as front desk is all the way up the very steep flight of stairs)

- 500php corkage for cake and chips even though they had almost nothing on sale inside the resort?
- food was not good for the price. 220 for such small breakfast portions. Most of the food arrived cold. SO MANY eggshells in my omelette.

- entrance and parking area reeked of sewage
- the beach is like aquarium sand (bring aqua shoes if you intend to swim lr do water activities)

This is the worst resort we ever checked in. Rooms were not that clean enough and so expensive! Bedsheets & blankets were itchy. Pillows were so hard. Beds were not even uratex foam so uncomfortable. Don't use their pool because they apply chlorine early in the morning while most guests were still asleep. It's a no-no to use the pool on the same day of application of chlorine because it may cause skin rash & itchiness. We ordered early our food for lunch & dinner but they always served late . Staff can't be found when we needed something. The only thing nice here is the beach. Everything else from price, service, cleanliness is so bad. I will never ever go back to this resort. Woud you believe the room in the pictures cost 11k a night! 😡

Beach :beach and water is clear and clean. except for a dog poop i found on the shore. if resort allows pets, owners should be responsible to clean their own pet’s poop.
Dining : main dining area not so clean and back of house kitchen and staff quarters can be seen from dining and its quite an eye sore. Tables and chairs are not well cleaned. resort dogs are allowed to roam which makes guests uncomfortable. dining staff are hard to call for anything we need. Food is ok. We loved the crispy pata and the sisig we had for dinner. and the pochero for lunch. Breakfast was not that great , could still be improved.
Accomodation : Rooms were not really kept very clean. the faucets looks so work out , the sink drain looks so yucky, towels has old stains , bathroom tiles looks dirty , needs regrouting. beddings are ok.
Wifi - is strong in some areas but very weak and slow in our room. Cabanas are not also well kept. I think the resort need to upgrade their rooms as well as the bath amenities that comes with it. Highly appreciated are the complimentary water and softdrinks in the refrigerator.

Service : check in staff is accommodating and friendly. we understand the rule of no portable speakers allowed as my son had to go back to the car to leave his speakers however I hope they strictly apply this rule to all guests as we saw guest playing their portable speaker near the table we were placed while waiting for our room to be available for check in.
Waitress in the bar getting order for drinks was not wearing a mask. had to call her attention. she did wear her mask after i called her attention but removed it again afterwards.
Our room was not readily available at 1pm. had to follow up and when we were led to our room , staff was still cleaning it. cleaning was not that well done maybe they did it haphazardly because we were told the guest prior us refuse to check out on the given time.

Pool : pool is ok but during our swim we smelled a strong sewer like smell which made us cut short our swimming time. don’t know exactly where it came from.

I am honestly disappointed with our stay. we stayed in La Luz in 2012 and we were hoping and expecting a much better resort after all these years. This is very unfortunate because the beach ,scenery and water is really very nice. Sayang. Don’t think we will book here again after our experience.

We had a family outing with 30 people here. The beach was beautiful, but the resort was trash! One of our family members had an incident with bed bugs that lead to red marks on the skin. And all they said was 'sorry'? What can that apology do? In other hotels, they would've paid for a medical bill. Additionally, the pool was dirty and warm, the pump wasn't turned on because they said it was turned on only 'when the pool is cleaned'. The food was okay. It tastes okay, but there were orders that were missing and forgotten. We paid a large amount for this outing but I feel like the experience wasn't worth the money. Not a recommended hotel.

Our family stayed here for 1 night. We got a loft room, we were 8 adults and 2 kids, the room was nice and just okay for 8, there was no TV inside the room but we had a balcony. The sand isn't that fine, but the pool i think is nice. What I didn't like is when we ordered our dinner and breakfast in advance but they served an hour late.

Worst customer service. Incompetent, untrained, trashy crew. Litter everywhere in the cabanas and beach. Food is super overpriced! Imagine, Php 350 pesos for 5 pcs of turon, that even took about 30 minutes to prepare. They renovated their resort but they forgot to train their staff. Spend your money elsewhere
