Simply outstanding

We had a very enjoyable dinner at Pepito. The restaurant setting is beautiful and classy with a cosy feel. My husband had the Red tuna tartar which was particularly good, I had the Caesar salad which I also really enjoyed, we paired it with an excellent bottle of local Cava. We thoughts that the prices were very reasonable for the quality and presentations of the food. This was probably one of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at in Spain and we’ve also been to some excellent restaurants in Madrid. If you’re looking for somewhere for a special meal or just a very nice dinner. we highly recommend it.

Excellent food and atmosphere!

This was the first restaurant that we visited on trip to Barcelona. We were recommended to come here by a friend who has lived locally for a few years. It was a fantastic experience and set a very high benchmark for the rest of our stay! Faultless experience from start to finish. The decor and lighting created a lovely, intimate atmosphere. Service was superb. The food was amazing! The way that our steak was served with a hot plate, allowing you to sear each slice to your liking, helped make our meal a real ‘event’. We can’t wait to come back on our next trip to Barcelona!

Good food in dark alley

If you walk by before opening, you really cannot believe this carage can serve good food. It really changes when they open that carage metal door. Food is great, Specialty is rare meat that you finalize yourself with hot stone that they provide (and replace when it cools). Remember to follow waiter, they really forget orders, not once but several times during evening.

Not What We Had Hoped For

We were warmly welcomed and instantly felt at ease. After ordering cocktails our waiter changed which is when things changed. We asked for time to review the menu which was granted, following a short time the new waiter returned and we were ready to order. We ordered a sharing main course which we were told was not available but we were recommended to have a more expensive sharing main. We decided to order an alternative to this recommendation. Five minutes later we heard the same waiter offering the same sharing meal we had been told was not available to another table of guests. I can only say this Spoilt the atmosphere and the evening, the food we ordered was great and we both enjoyed what we had and to be honest couldn’t fault the dinner. As we only had three nights in Barcelona we wanted this evening to be special which it certainly was not.

A disappointing meal

We were a little disappointed with most aspects of our meal here. The waitress kept pushing the starters but nothing was very appealing so we ordered entrana de Angus con plancha to share, 42 euros. It can me with chips but I requested a plain green salad instead. Beef was ok, but you had to cook it yourself on a hot plate, the portion of chips was only enough for one so was surprised when they charged me 5.50 euros for the salad. 84 euros for 2 with wine and water. Would not recommend

Trying hard but could be much better

On the recommendation of our hotel concierge we had high expectations. Staff are friendly but seemed to lack experience; perhaps it was a communication issue, since our Catalan is non-existent. The service was slow and we had to put our hand up for quite a while to get their attention. Unfortunately my ‘medium’ cooked steak was very rare and bloody - they took it back to the kitchen but it was still quite rare. We were never checked upon throughout the meal and it seemed like they were not sure how to treat customers. There were plenty of staff but they seemed inexperienced and as a result we felt disappointed overall by the experience. It has potential but they need to sharpen up their customer skills and maybe it could be a great restaurant.

Disappointed

I cannot recommend this place to be honest. We felt disappointed: we took 2 main dishes and left hungry from the restaurant with a high bill for what Ier got. Waiter was friendly but spoke barely English. We asked for a bottle of wine from the card which was not available and had to take a more expensive cava of so and so quality.

I will rate this place a 10 out of 10!!! We had a large group of 18 . They accommodated our group and the servers were knowledgeable on the menu items and very helpful. The food was fresh and the price was well worth it. The food took a while but it was worth the wait!! I will definitely recommend this for anyone but especially a large group.

The 8 p.m. sitting fills up fast, so a reservation is recommended. This is a busy, loud, lively place suitable for families and groups of friends. Portions are generous. Service is erratic and your server changes from one course to the next.

Chilled out vibe

It’s our third evening in Barcelona and we were looking for something a bit different. Found this by chance right near our hotel, wow what a find. Very small menu done well, steaks, sides, veggie options all in a vintage style atmosphere. Chill out jazz music and very friendly staff. Such a lovely evening, wish we were staying longer!

Great food, friendly staff, but a bit disorganized

Super sweet staff, but sometimes they weren’t very coordinated and even forgot our French fries and the coffee in the end. But, they were very pleasant and made up for it with a couple of free limoncellos. The food was delicious and had a wonderful presentation. Starting with an Old Fashioned with a cinnamon stick (interesting, but nice flavor addition to the bourbon) and a French 75, we moved on to croquetas (VERY good), cannelloni with duck (yummy!) and steak tartare before we got crema Catalan and cheese cake (wow to both!) Like I said in the beginning: super sweet staff, just needs a bit of coordination. 😉

Disappointing. Would not return. Very overpriced for quality and quantity. After my son’s 40+ euro meal - I had to take him to another restaurant because what he ordered was absurdly small and overpriced. And yes - we know good quality food costs money - happy to pay for it when worth it. This was not.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner. Super cozy spot in a side street. Very nice people and we got a nice spot for two. We ordered two starters: mushroom crockets and artichoke chips, both nice, but the mushroom crockets were the best and very delicious. Next we had agnus steak for two... We enjoyed it very much. The wine, a rioja, was tasty and the deserts (creme brulee mousse and brownie with ice-cream) were definitely the best to end. Great recommends for the brownie... Delicious. We had a very good time.

Maintained its taste...

Always great to see that a restaurant maintains that great taste and environment. Visit this restaurant every single time i am in Barcelona and it does not disappoint. Options on the menu are great, so much for those different preferences. Cerviche is always a favorite for me, salads are excellent and the balsamic sauce is so tasty. Steak options, tried a few different options, excellent.

This rather small, unassuming-looking place was right across the street from our hotel and a casual recommendation from other guests kept us from missing it. The food was unique, fabulous, and affordable. It has a funky, noisy, lively vibe and the staff is friendly and charming
