A small diamond in Barcelona !! Perfect decoration,friendy and cozy !! The couple who owns the place are professionals! Very good argentinian wines( especially the red that we took- 2 bottles to be exact) .. And i left the last because its the best !! The meat that we tasted !! Tender,delicious,(mine especially perfectly cooked).Raw perfection on the plate.Usually the chefs are afraid of my order and they dont dare to bring my meat the way i really prefere-But not here!!The Chimichurri sause on the hot bread,simply magnificent.The grilled vegetables,divine!!
I am not going to forget the desserts.My partner had tiramisou and i had the dulce de leche with caramel. We went there 2 days before our departure.If we had more time we would visit Alfonsina again.
Our suggestion ?? If you are in Barcelona you HAVE to go there!!

We found this restaurant after a long day touring beautiful Barcelona. The decor is inviting with brick walls & soft lighting and the smell of perfectly cooked beef wafting from the kitchen was so appetizing. Even though the kitchen was about to close for the mid-day break, we were able to order empanadas, a big salad and wine. The food and wine were perfect. For those from the US used to the heavy fried empanadas the recent immigrants from Central America make, these Argentinian empanadas are a tastier, more sophisticated version, baked in a pastry shell, with nicely seasoned fillings. Try the spicy beef - a bit hot but not overwhelmingly spicy & very flavorful. What makes this restaurant so special is the friendly and kind couple who own it. They talked with us, then helped us get a cab during a driving rain shower & were so kind to the older man in our party. We look forward to trying their amazing steaks on our next visit to Barcelona. This restaurant combines hospitality, wonderful food & good decor so well that it is the perfect example of what a smaller, family owned speciality restaurant should be. Call ahead for reservations because we were told they are very popular.

It is advisable to make a reservation here. The restaurant is small and welcoming. There are tables both inside and out. Our Argentinian waiter told us about the different cuts of meat. So, if ordering beef, you know if you are ordering a less tender cut. The salad we ordered was quite large and very delicious with dark leafy greens, walnuts, raisins, sunflower seeds and feta cheese. Their extensive menu is available online.

Sometimes when going to a restaurant, it is not about getting the best food you ever had in your life, but, enjoying the overall experience.
This quaint place has hosts who really take care of you, but not pushing you.
The empanadas are interesting, steaks are tasty and tender so our palate was pretty satisfied.
We had a great time, felt comfortable and ate good! What more do you need?
Worth to try! Reservation recommended.

Wonderful staff and wonderful food. Cannot go wrong with the any cut of meat but the ribeye was the best I’ve had in my life and the roasted vegetables were absolutely delicious. One of our favorite meals.

Wow, what a lovely place. The room is small and not great but once you meet the owner and his wife this all becomes totally irrelevant. She is Argentinan and he is from Barcelona and they are the nicest friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. Food recommendations were 100% as was the wine
I had filet at it was truly top class. As the owner said, they don’t have many tables but what they do, they try to be excellent and in my opinion they are. Well done - I will be back. Thank you for such a lovely evening
These are really good honest people so turn up when in BCN. You will not be disappointed

Had dinner with wife on our last night. The sirloin and tenderloin steaks were absolutely the best. Friendly staff with great advice. You pay a reasonable price for super quality of the food. Overall best experience. Must make booking so call before going else might not get table

Excellent, authentic Argentinian food. Excellent empanadas and meat. Very reasonably priced. But, the greatest asset of the restaurant is the warmth and friendliness of Sonia, Lluís and their staff. Whenever possible that take their time to have a chat and make you feel at home. For me, if nothing else, it is a reason to keep coming back to the city.

Great food. Good service I’d Argentinian steak is what you are after this is the place. They don’t oversell. So take their advice on portions. Sirloin abs tenderloin were great abs provincial potatoes were lovely.

I haven’t been back in Barcelona since 2018, BUT I am booked for two meals here - lunch today and dinner in two days … that is when I am going for all meat ! ;)

Wow! Amazing food and fantastic service, by far the best restaurant we have eaten in during our Barcelona trip, the quality of the food and wine is outstanding, the service was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, would highly recommend this lovely little restaurant to anyone in the area.
