Excellent Service Excellent Food

It is my first time in Barcelona and I found myself coming back to vivo tapas for the second time in two days. The bartender Nicolas went above and beyond. He thoroughly explained all of the food and drinks options with great knowledge and provided terrific recommendations. I am on a solo mission for a few days before the rest of my coworkers arrive and Nicolas and his crew made me feel right at home. I would recommend the spicy potatoes they were incredible. If you are going to Barcelona I would recommend stopping by!

Great Barcelona Restaurant

My family and friends went to Vivos Tapas at the recommendation of a friend of the restaurant’s manager; who happens to also be in the restaurant business. We reserved a table for six the same day as it was recommend but had to change it to a later time, which they were able to accommodate. When we arrived at 2100 hours, the restaurant was busy, however we were seated without much delay. With some friendly and helpful instruction, everyone was able to select a menu item of interest. Everyone agreed the service was good, the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable and we would return as well as recommend the restaurant to others.

We came here twice on our recent trip to Barcelona. The first time it was fantastic and I’d say 5 stars on this occasion. One of our party ordered a banana smoke cocktail which came under a dome with smokes pouring out - we loved the theatrics! The food was also great, especially the octopus tapas dish and the prawn croquettes. We had such a good time, we came back with more of our family to show them the cocktail fun and to enjoy a special meal for our last night in Barcelona. When we came back a second time as a group of 6 we had a few problems with service though the food was still delicious. The salmon tartar might have been the best thing we’d eaten all holiday! We ordered 3 cocktails, 2 banana smokes and a spiced one which on the menu said ‘liquid nitrogen’. When the drinks came there was no theatre. When we asked about this they said the ‘smoke’ was just the flavour. We explained how our cocktail came before and she changed her reason to ‘we’re too busy’. These cocktails were not cheap (€18) so it was a shame to not have the experience but also to feel fobbed off with rubbish excuses. We seemed to have 2 servers all night, Karen who was lovely and Angie who made us feel uncomfortable as she kept patrolling our table constantly. At one point she told us off for not stirring our paella enough. Overall, good food, average service.

High end restuarant

Came here one night after our first choice restuarant was too busy. So we walked about 10 mins to this restuarant from the nearest metro station. We got there about 8pm on a Friday evening without a reservation and was given a table straightaway. Can't fault the service. Very, very quick. Probably too quick. We ordered 4 tapas dishes and within 20 mins of entering the restuarant we already had these 4 dishes in front of us on the table. If we ate quick I think we could have been in and out of the restuarant in 30 mins. Felt like the staff were rushing us to exit as quick as possible, but we managed to add another couple of dishes and ended up staying 1.5 hours in the end. Decor of the restuarant is very gay. Most luxurious decorated restuarant we went to in Barcelona. Some of the customers were clearly well dressed for the restuarant and they were seated at the tables closest to the front door. Unfortuanately we are not so good looking or wear such nice clothes so we were seated towards the back of the restuarant, but it didn't bother us. Food was good, can't fault it. Very tasty. Price wise it's more expensive than other restuarants we tried during our stay in Barcelona. For example, lobster rice (which we didn't order) was EUR29 per person, and it was a min 2 person order. EUR58 for a lobster rice dish is probably too much. Some of the other dishes were more reasonably priced, but probably reasonable for a high end restuarant like this. They had a staff who was doing some singing on the night. Very gay decor. Overall, not too bad. Probably suits those who like to eat and drink in same place over the whole night

Inattentive customer service

I think every tourist wants to eat here due to high trip advisor ratings. But the reality is it is an extremely busy restaurant , Since it’s too busy customer service is inattentive. People are lining up to eat here and the service staffs are running around like headless chickens. Their intention is to serve as much as they can for money but never ask did you enjoy the food or is it good ? Food is good but too expensive for what it is. Barcelona is not cheap after the pandemic.

Generally disappointing

We had a booking but we’re kept waiting outside the establishment by management for quite some time before being seated, cannot understand why with a number of empty seats available so late in the evening. we paid 22 euro for a main with 3 scallops as a serving and cannot consider this anything other than extortion compared to what else is on offer at this price point elsewhere in the city. We cut out visit short, only having one round of drinks and a main before promptly leaving - Even during this short time in the establishment we were served by no less than waiting staff - not what we have become used to during our time spent in Barcelona so far. Overall would caution the uninformed tourist that despite the many positive reviews such an establishment is no less prone to off nights it seems.

Worst restaurant of whole trip

Trendy upmarket place and very crowded. . But that top gloss covers a lot Difficult to get service and they don’t really listen The squid ink rice was dry and burne and tasted awful Paid in cash and had to ask for my significant amount of change 3 times Cannot recommend this place

This is a bit upmarket place, well decorated and with friendly and professional staff. I red somewhere that the tapas were good here. They don’t really have tapas, just smaller plates you can share, besides the “standard” food. I opted for the first and although the food was not bad by any means, it was also not particularly good, just a bit more expensive than usual if you consider the quite small portions. All in all, an ok place that felt to me somehow overrated.

Classy Tapas / Cocktail Bar in best location of BCN

I'm not the type of person that writes long reviews. So I come straight to the point. The location and ambient, is classy and chic in one of the best Zones of Barcelona (Passeig de Gràcia / Diagonal). Especially the bar is extremely pretty. At Vivotapas you will choose from selected high quality tapas (for example I loved the inked squids). The Cocktails are also carefully chosen and very tasty. Shoutouts to the Barman Joel who mixed and presented the Cocktails that night (my tip, "smoked berries"). The overall Attention and service was pleasing despite the fully booked space. Overall I highly recommend to try this place as it offers a great value for money ratio

Perfect place for a Valentine Eve

Oh my partner searched for a good restaurant for us to celebrate Valentines and found this. It did not disappoint gorgeous food of Oysters and Tomato toast followed by a delicious brick of Lamb and Angus Burger. We shared a creamy desert well it was delicious and it was Valentines! Some serious drink as well food in this tastefully decorated restaurant. We also liked the entertainer who sang a good mix of popular western music - would highly recommend!

II had two meals there: one @noon and one in the evening. Food was very good, the price correct, but what made it very special was the excellent service by Agui, chef de salle ! He made of a simple dinner a special experience thanks to his energy and kindness which makes you feel very comfortable. Even as a first time client you feel like a regular one !

Busy place with interesting dishes. Monday evening at MWC. Crowded but we got a round table for a business meeting. All tapas tasted good in a good atmosphere but the service could have been a bit faster.

Thank you guys. I loved everything! Me and my friend we ordered a bottle of white wine and “calamares en su tinta”, the size was perfect for 2, and the wine was really good (26€ Perfect price, was REALLY GOOD) and Agui the waiter… no words! We felt like home! Joel, the bartender is incredible. Thank you guys, I’ll come back for sure!

Exquisite food and service

We popped in at 930pm on a Thursday night with our 2 daughters and couldn’t have asked for a more pleasant experience. The charming host Agui really made the night special for us by seating us outside on the patio after a short wait at the cocktail bar, and then recommending a few fantastic dishes (the octopus, the black fried calamari and especially the red tuna sandwiches). We loved the food and the hospitality. This restaurant will be a fixture for us whenever we visit Barcelona.
