Chef Marvin has done it again with his home style Jamaican cuisine! We came here for dinner tonight and it was so comforting! Highly recommend coconut shrimp (you actually taste the coconut!), fried chicken(so juicy!), mac and cheese and the ESCOVITCH FISH!!! Chef Marvin and his team are so hospitable and make you feel like you’re at their home. We love it here and can’t wait to be back!

Stopped by for fried chicken and it did not disappoint. Juicy and tender straight off the fryer that made for an excellent late evening beer snack. We also ordered a side of fried plantains which were also pretty good! Fried chicken is hard to find in Playa. This will definitely satisfy a craving. The very friendly owner also has a sister restaurant called Rockas Jamaican Kitchen (Vietnamese-Jamaican fusion, what a cool combination) which we plan to visit soon.

We have been fans of Rockas since the beginning before the opening of the fabulous Rockas Beach Town Grill, but I must say it is nice to go back to where it all started in the original little place that is now Roxy's Little Fish Shack. It has all of the amazing service and flavours we have come to expect from the wonderful owners of Rockas, but on a smaller and more casual level with different menu items. We came a couple weeks earlier with family and it was outstanding, so back we went bringing friends along. Chef Marvin did it again. The food was incredible. I had the Jamaican Curry Chicken and it was a taste experience. Our server Bruce was fun and attentive as he was the time before while the bartender makes one great margarita. Chef Marvin stopped by the table a couple of times which is always a welcome touch. So do yourselves a favour and go. I know I will be stopping in again at least twice before going home.

Wow what can I say about this place. Visited 2yrs ago when it was called Rockas Jamaican Kitchen and it was exceptional then, now this place is phenomenal. Marvin the chef and his staff are unbelievable with how they cater for you. I went to celebrate my birthday with my partner and Marvin and the staff pulled out all the stops to make it a night to remember. The food is on point 10/10, the drinks 10/10 and if you wanna get mash up ask for the Fire water (Jb Jamaican rum). The escovitch Red Snapper is a must along side the fried chicken. Even man like Mr KFC would be jealous. I would highly recommend this place to anyone whom wishes to sample authentic Jamaican cooked food whilst in Playa del Carmen you will not be disappointed.

Great food with amazing music. The employees were very accommodating and provided great recommendations. The half chicken was made fresh to order, the mac & cheese was cheesy, and their passion fruit drink is excellent.

We had walked past here a couple of times and finally decided to pop in. First off I just wanted to say that the waitress that took care of us was so sweet and attentive. She went over and above as did every person who worked there that we encountered. Even if the food wasn't excellent the staff alone is worth the visit. We started with some coconut shrimp and it was excellent. I had the chicken curry and it was the perfect amount of heat and spice with potatoes and carrots and rice and veggies. I ate until I couldn't fit anymore in and I still have enough left over for lunch and likely dinner today. My Hubs had the grilled shrimp over potatoes and his was really good as well. Don't miss this Gem of a restaurant, it is delicious and so obviously well run by the attitudes of the wait staff that work here. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.

We have been coming to Rockas for quite a few years now. We love Steph and Marve. They treat us like family when we come. The main restaurant moved to a great new location but the old one changed focus to more fried and down to earth food. Fried fish and chicken. Good stuff. Different focus but also really really good.

Marvin and Stephanie’s new restaurant, Roxy’s Little Fish Shack, does not disappoint! We have been going to their original restaurant, Rockas Jamaican Kitchen since it first opened on 1 Avenida Nte. entre 26 y 28 a few years ago, and absolutely love it. After moving to its new location a couple years ago on Calle 38 Norte y Calle Flamingo, We were excited to learn their plans for the original location was going to be a fish & chips shack. We went to it the other night and Marvin, Bruce, and Noel fed us like royalty. Awesome experience, delicious food and wonderful service. Highly recommend.

One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. Small cozy restaurant with a home-like feel. Food was incredible (had the fresh snapper which came from local fisherman), passion fruit mojito and a taste of ice cream after. Huge thank you to the staff Syanya, Mateo looking after the front of the house and mixing drinks and to Daniel and Eduardo in the kitchen making the best food. And of course to owner and chef Marvin for taking the time to chat with us and bring the flavours of Jamaica to Playa del Carmen

Best fish dinner in Playa. I’ve also tried the chicken. Good music, food, and drinks. There isn’t much more you could ask for - do yourself a favor and order he garlic butter fish.

Best Little Fish Shack! Food was incredible. Bruce our server was top notch and very attentive with a great sense of humour! Fried snapper was REALLY good! Mac and cheese was delicious. Fried chicken was not greasy but was very crispy and tender in the inside! Marvin the owner was very kind and we had a great conversation! You gotta eat here! Loved it!

5 star service and food ! I had a delicious grilled sea bass dinner with grilled vegetables and a very tasty coconut rice with peas. The staff Christian, Natalia, Marvin, and papa Noel were all very attentive and gave great service. I will definitely return to try some other dishes

Went on a whim walking by and tried Roxy's. Very, very impressed with the authenticity of their food. Growing up in Jamaica, the red snapper escovitch tasted just like what I would eat for Sunday dinner at my grandma's house. Marvin, the chef, and his kitchen crew really brought the island flavor to Playa del Carmen! Bruce was an amazing server with answering and recommending all the menu options. Finally, I have to shout out Noel' s bartenders service as he made a special occasion amazing drinks. The whole crew really made the experience memorable! It's a definite stop on your palate adventure when exploring Playa del Carmen.
