The best chicken in town!

Great little restaurant for jerk chicken and ribs. Spicy enough that kids can eat it but if you want more kick you can add the extra spicy sauce. Their coleslaw is soo good (and soothing for children who find the chicken too spicy!). Don't forget to order the garlic bread! You can even order out if you're feeling lazy and delivery is super cheap. This downtown location is brand new and we're so happy they've opened here because it's easy to walk to from anywhere in the city centre.

Highly recommended great food

The food is top quality and super tasty. We both had the rib meal for one. I had coleslaw and Mac and cheese sides and my husband had coleslaw and they let him pay the difference to trade 1 side for seasoned fries. Ample portion of ribs which well well cooked, juicy and fell off the bone A selection of sauces which are also really flavourful and fluffy tortillas It is not expensive based on quality its value for money but it is one of the most expensive meals we had in PDC at 834 pesos for 2 incl tip but then we don't really eat at fancy restaurants so other people may consider this cheap

Okay, yum! So happy we stopped here. If you’re looking for an affordable, no-fuss meal, come here! We ordered the half chicken platter (marinated SO well), max and cheese side (simple and yum), rice + beans (made with coconut milk and YUM again), and side bread (also so good, like crack) We ended up paying around ~$25 American dollars with a 15% tip and excited to come back. A perfect place when you’re just looking for protein and sides. Again, if you’re looking for something that is not fancy fancy, but tasty and healthy-ish.

Not worth it!

It’s a new place right off 10th. A friend recommended it. I thought it was overpriced and the first place in Mexico where I was charged for the to go boxes ($5 pesos each) and they didn’t even warn us about it. The chicken was a bit too spicy for my taste and they brought it out in a strange order. They ordered an appetizer of plátanos fritos but they brought the chicken out first without any of the sides and my dinner partner had nothing to eat. Slowly they brought out the sides. My partner enjoyed the curry chicken but found it bland and overpriced as well. Even though it’s super close, won’t be back again. Sorry Ferros!!

Excellent food- great staff

Have been here before but decided to do a take out order this time. We had the Jerk Chicken for 4 as well as sides of potatoes, plantains, salad, and rice and beans. Quality is excellent. Flavours are about the right spice level as we had guests who do not like it too spicy. Finished the leftovers for lunch today and just as good the second time round. Even the soft tacos were quite good the second day and that can be rare. We will return again and again !

The food is excellent but the portion for 1 is small. The service was also excellent. Although due to the fact that there was a $28 peso service charge, I will not be returning. $280 pesos for a meal for one is expensive for Mexico(especially what amounts to fast food) and I told the server that the service charge hurts him and the client and only benefits the owner. First and only restaurant in Playa with a service charge tacked onto the bill I've experience, shameful.

Best Chicken in Playa del Carmen!

We live in PDC part of the year and are always checking out new resturants. I had high hopes for Ferron's and they did not disappoint! The chicken was moist and tasty, the sides were huge and flavorful and the coleslaw rivaled the ones from back home in Atlanta. The prices were more than reasonable, and the location is perfect (just across from the stadium). Ana, our server, was amazing! She made suggestions and was always there when we needed something. The resturant was also easily accessible for those with a stroller or wheelchair. Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

Amazing Jamaican food, friendly and fast service

Found this place on Google Maps and bookmarked it to visit while I’m in Playa. It was a little bit out of the way for me, but so so worth the walk. This spot is very unpretentious, the food is the focus and it is obvious from the first bite. The jerk chicken is deliciously seasoned and moist (!!!), the corn had just the right amount of char and the plantains were ripe. I was made to feel very welcome by waiters Emilio and Javier, who serve their customers with a genuine smile and warm demeanor. Highly, highly recommend this place.

Take a break from tacos and come here!

My husband and I stopped by Ferron’s Jerk Chicken for dinner last night. We ordered the Jamaican Jerk chicken dinner for 2 which includes half a chicken and 2 generous sides-we chose coleslaw & fries. Two rolls were also included. Wow! The food served was piping hot and delicious! We were so hungry and enjoyed it so much, I forgot to take photos of the meal! All I can say is that if you’re in Playa Del Carmen and want to eat something besides Mexican or Italian, then you should not hesitate to go here. Service was very good. Seating in the exterior covered patio with Reggae music in the background, was spacious and comfortable. The total cost for just under $30 US (including tip) and much less than restaurants on nearby 5th Avenue (with better food and service). We did not order alcoholic beverages, though their assortment of what looked like great drinks was tempting. We will definitely come back to Ferron’s Jerk Chicken again!

We had jerk chicken, fried chicken AND ribs because we couldn't make up our mind. All of it was really well cooked, tasted great, served piping hot and jerk sensibly spiced (extra sauce on the table to be added if required). Diego was a great server and we really enjoyed our meal 👍

Unbelievably outstanding food!!!!!

This place is just incredible. We luckily stumbled across this amazing restaurant because of the salivating smells and very polite staff. We ordered the chicken and all the sides in the world and the portion sizes were extremely generous and the taste of each and every dish was OUTSTANDING. The food is clearly prepared with so much care and attention, authenticity is clear in abundance. Couldn’t recommend this place more - enjoy 😍!!!!!

Amazing love food!! & gluten free options

Amazing food! Really finger licking Good and beyond that! You can taste the love and passion The staff is incredibly kind Mitchel (chef) told me in person what I could have because of my celiacs. (Gluten allergy) Such a friendly guy!! Darian helped us with recommendations and suggestions and her way of helping us was so sweet I felt I was talking to my friend. Also the manager (Dana) great attitude and so kind We really had the best dinner in our whole stay They not only have good food but they make you feel like family. We will see you soon!!!! Promise

Wonderful jerk chicken. Its got a good kick. Two of us had 1/2 chicken with 3 sides with drinks for about $33 USD which is not bad in this tourist area. Pan (bread) was outstanding. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommended and we will be coming back.

This place is super delicious. I was told this this was a new location and I wouldn’t know it from being here for many many months or years even. Highly recommended, I’m at the chef who is from Jamaica and he certainly knows how to do it right

After many recommendations we decided to try this place tonight. Well, we were not disappointed. We had fried chicken for 2. ( requested breast and wings and this is what we got )…the chicken was delicious ( not greasy and cooked to perfection ). We ordered regular fries and seasoned fries. They were of the frozen variety but cooked to perfection. The seasoned fries were slightly spicy. One order of fries would have been plenty as we could not eat them all. The service was very good with a good understanding of English. With a couple of beers the bill came to only $445. Will definitely be going back.
