The Movenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea earns admiration for its extensive pools, rejuvenating spa services, and diverse culinary offerings. Guests are enchanted by the resort's vibrant ambiance, adorned with Middle Eastern-inspired designs and live cultural entertainment. While the staff's warmth and efficiency receive commendations, some visitors have encountered service inconsistencies and long waits. Rooms are generally appreciated for their spaciousness and cleanliness, though updates are suggested. Despite the breathtaking Dead Sea location, the resort's value perception is occasionally tarnished by additional charges and pricey dining options.

The hotel looks amazing , it has a Roman like villages rooms , Great lounge beach infinity pool Only for Adults (ask for abdelghani very attentive service, great guy) with amazing atmospheric music that matches the location of dead sea ariabian vibes.the sea is a bit of a walk to reach but they have buggies if needed.

The hotel is not cheap in terms of services , like the spa massage is more expensive than the room itself !
Breakfast was less impressive than other 5 stars hotels , just fine. The dinner is super expensive to what it offers however for people who are interested in watching a belly dancer while having a steak then maybe it's a good choice for those people.

The room is spacious and clean, however the fridge was empty when we arrived, we asked the reception but they never showed up the first day. They brought the iron never the less in 20 minutes.

Another annoying thing in the room is the one switch for all the lights ! You can't just turn one the side lamp or the head spots , it's either the whole room or nothing which is very annoying if you want to read something before bed and your spouse is sleeping.

Dead sea mud is provided by the hotel next to the beach however I would have recommended to cleanup the beach so people can walk without flip flops as the rocks can be sharp and you might get cuts - which will become a horrible experience if you touch the super salty sea water after the cuts ! Ouch!

The pools and sea side closes after the sunset so no chance to see anything after the dark or even walk around the beach.

Overall the hotel is very nice as a getaway vecation, calm and serene and full of jasmine and othe flowers smells around the village.

The resort is truly magnificent. Except for a few things.
1. Dining room is packed and crowded, primarily with your groups, like ours, stacked on each other without room to sit as a couple.
2. Halls aren’t carpeted and reflect every conversation and worst of all, the loud clatter of the hotel staff cleaning carts.
3. The halls are smoky as only some rooms are non smoking. The rooms have filtered air, so it doesn’t come into the rooms.
4. The bathtubs are downright dangerously slippery. The shower water is restricted and terribly weak.
5. There are wall sockets in each side of the bed. But no USB ports. For an upscale resort, and with little actual costs, they should be replaced.

From an amenities point of view, the place is superior to anything in the area.

I booked a family room for myself and my family at Movebnpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea.

The reservation team contacted me before one day of my reservation date to ask me if I have any special requests to prepare before I reach.

The check-in process was quick, and the reception team was friendly and professional, and they gave me an early check-in free of charge, so I got my room at 10.30 pm, while it should be at 3.00 pm.

The rooms were cleaned, well furnished, and the resort focused on small details in the room, which also provide dead sea mud products in the bath that I like most in the room.

The resort has three swimming pools, two for adults and one for children, the sand pool is amazing and gives you a beach experience at the pool and has many lifeguards to take care of swimmers.

The children's pool is small, covers the hot sun and its only 60 cm depth, so even my youngest child, who is three years old, can walk and enjoy it, but what I didn't like, no lifeguard in this swimming pool, so the parents have to be in the pool and that what all parents have to do, but I noticed that some parents leave their children and go to the adults room without lifeguards.

The resort has a private beach, but away from the pools area and rooms, which had to walk too much and a lot of stairs to reach, so it is not suitable for children or seniors, there is no elevator to reach the beach like other hotels in the dead sea, they offer a golf car to pick you to the beach, but you have to wait 5 to 15 minutes to get it, and even when I asked for it, I noticed the team getting stressed.
I guess there is a shortage of cars or the labours at the resorts.
the beach need more attention from the hotel, as only one lifeguard, no showers at the beach and only one mud area at the beach,
at night we stay at Valley cafe, at the village area, it is a unique theme with fine restaurant, rich menu items. What I like is that you can order from many restaurants there not only one, so if you like Italian food and your family want different type of cuisine, thats possible at the resort, the band make a very good show, and the bill was reasonable price with this luxury atmosphere.
we had the breakfast at the resort also, professional services, much different dishes, and the food is very good.
they provide me also late checkout free of charge and the check out process was fast and the reception team was friendly and professional.
Overall, it's a positive experience and I'll book at this hotel in the future.

There are a bunch of hotels on the Jordan side of the Dead Sea and we stayed at the Movenpick which was constructed around 20 years ago but relatively well maintained. The rooms we had were not in the main building but in one of the smaller buildings where the rooms have a nice sit out and are closer to the restaurants as well as the beach. We did not have a view room and did not get a chance to enjoy the nice sit out as it was a bit dark although good place to dry your clothes. The hotel has several pools, and is on a ridge so quite a few steps to get to the Dead Sea. Actual you go from 380 meters below sea level at the lobby to about 480 meters below to get to the beach. The beach itself is very small and there are a lot of rocks as you enter the water...so not as easy to wade in. There is some staff to help you float in the sea and then rub some black mud all over you , take pictures and help you wash away the mud. The rooms itself are nice and large and the bathroom had both a tub as well as a shower. WiFi was very slow but included. The Bar has a beautiful roof which one must see. There are several restaurants offering a variety of cuisines. One could easily spend a week here.

I thought by staying at one of the many bigger chain hotels lining the Dead Sea would be the best way to get the most out of our "Dead Sea Experience". We opted for the Movenpick. Seemed nice upon booking. But like all chain hotels it would struggle to have any individually and personality. This unfortunately shone through, throughout our two night stay. The breakfast however was good. One of the best bits about this place I found. A fresh, healthy and tasty variety, served in a lovely indoor, yet outdoor garden style patio area. Loose leaf Jasmine tea swung it for me. And that is where it ends. The evening meal offerings were all not great. The Japanese restaurant was particularly terrible. If you have no idea about Japanese cuisine then please don't offer it. Truly the worst Japanese food I've eaten anywhere in the whole world. The Zara Spa was nice. Clean. Spectacular views over the Dead Sea, especially beautiful at sunset. (Please note that if you are a fan of sunsets, like me, Jordan is the side to see if from, as it sets of the Israeli mountains, opposite) Perfect from Jordan, not so great if you're in Israel looking over to Jordan! But as honeymooners we were not happy with how dramatically we were segregated (by gender) within the spa complex. I had hoped that by staying in an Americanized European chain hotel we would be treated like perfectly civilized western adults. Instead we kept getting split up from one another, as men and women were separated for much of territories. Not romantic when you as purposely separated from your partner. We were constantly being watched (once we had found each other), made to feel guilty and shameful. Felt really uncomfortable in the end. The room service offering was nice, but it took three room changes to find a room that was non smoking. The first two rooms all had a deep seated stench of old and stale smoke hanging in the heavy drapes and divan bed base. Very unpleasant. But the non smoking room we eventually got smelt just fine. Definitely room for improvement. Service, personability and humanisation.

First of all, i would like to thank Mr. Mohammad Tarteer and Mr. Ammar Alomari for everything they have done for us. They made sure that every single detail during our stay met the highest standards. Mr. Ammar listened attentively to everything we were expecting during our stay and made us experience an unforgettable vacation.
Second of all, i have to admit that this hotel really makes you experience unforgettable moments as the highest standards of service, hospitality, cleanliness are met.
The rooms are spacious, clean, nice and comfortable. The pools were so clean. The entertainment team by the pool were keeping the kids entertained. The food was amazing and here i have to mention Mr. JIHAD.
I would like to thank Mr. Jihad ( The restaurant manager) for showing such professionalism. He personally greets each table with a smile, explains the set menu, comes again to check whether everything is alright and makes sure that all requirements are met. All the respect for him and for all of his team.
Finally, i would like to thank ever single person in this hotel. The staff are so friendly and they make sure that you are happy and satisfied . The housekeeping, the club car drivers, the waiters and every single person.

Our room was quite simple but more than adequate. The hotel is very ornate with huge areas of wasted space serving no purpose. It bordered on ugliness. The one exception is a terraced room where breakfast and lunch were served. It is delightful. My wife and I lingered there as it was such contrast to the rest of the place. The rest of the complex is a sprawling and confusing mess . Of course, it is a resort with most of the facilities below the main building. The walk to them is not long but it is inclined. There is an electric golf service but it is, at best, erratic. This is not a place for people with handicaps as these people are not catered to very well. Getting into the hotel requires the most stringent security screening we experienced in Jordan. It is a shame this has to be done and I understand why it is necessary. But it would be less unpleasant if the staff manning were more friendly.

Mövenpick Hotel Dead Sea is a beautiful hotel complex to enjoy a stay at the Dead Sea. The hotel complex is built in the style of a nested village and you have - despite the large number of guests - enough privacy. The rooms are very spacious and stylishly furnished. The staff is very friendly and helpful, although we would have liked a little more assistance at check-in regarding the upcoming dinner.
Bathing in the Dead Sea is an experience in itself, and even there the always attentive lifeguards are happy to help you in and out. A shuttle service brings you back to the "village square" free of charge after the bath. The breakfast buffet has everything your heart desires, even if we couldn't really get much out of the expresso.
The hotel is a true oasis of luxury in an otherwise rather barren area. For example, dinner for a party of four at the hotel's own Italian restaurant, Luigi's, costs about a quarter of the average monthly wage in Jordan.

The Movenpick Resort is a good choice for a day by the pool and a dip in the Dead Sea. The pool area was beautiful with many options for kids, adults and couples. We were met with friendly staff making sure we had everything we needed--chairs, umbrellas, towels and bar service. The pool area was very clean and pleasant. And the Dead Sea area was not too far a walk down. Plus there were staff driving golf carts to give a lift when needed. The fees for the day pass included a 15JD voucher to spend on food/drinks. We enjoyed a cold juice drink at poolside and then had very tasty pizza for dinner in the evening at Luigis. The service at the restaurant was top notch! The only thing I think that needs attention at the resort is the changing room. The area was not kept clean. By the end of the day the shampoo dispensers were empty, the floors were sandy and wet towels were everywhere. Plus, it was very hot in the summer with no AC or other ventilation. I was sweating right after my shower and changing back into my clothes! With all the day pass users at the pool, the hotel must do a better job of making the changing area more clean and comfortable. I think the cost of the pass should provide that. Despite that one issue, the day beside the pool was relaxing and enjoyable. A nice break from the city!

They have UBS ports. I can’t recall the type of electric adapter you need, but it’s the standard one for Jordan. You will love Movenpick!
Answer from Darla M
Almost all the resorts at The Dead Sea do day passes. Just call and tell them the number of people and what day and they will give you a price {usually two prices - one with and one without lunch}. Also check out Porto Dead Sea. It's a resort under construction down the road. The rates are cheaper than the established resorts and the salt flats are more intact than the ones that have been there for awhile. They have a pool, showers, restaurant, attentive staff and a good vibe - you just won't get all the bells and whistles of a fully functioning resort.
