Following all fears and concerns for travel we decided Turkey would be the best location, we’ve travelled to Bodrum many times loving the speed through the airport and quick transfers to hotels. We had private transfers included taking 1/5 hours which was efficient, upgraded on arrival to a bigger suite looking over the smaller pool, the grounds and pools very respectfully clean, looked after. I find it frustrating when complaints are made when there is so much to be thankful for, sun sea and hot weather plentiful and beautiful scenery. The staff are amazing very friendly and accommodating with any requests, if you offer your thanks and smile it’s welcomed. We enjoyed the opportunity to use all facilities as the resort is quiet trying sea platforms and pools. This is not a resort to enjoy Fine dining, it’s tough with current restrictions to meet the traffic and needs for all, so don’t expect a wow over the food. Buffet food am and pm which can be difficult choosing what you want and not being able to serve yourself however the restrictions are there to protect. Drink plentiful and I would say for the first time ever in Turkey the entertainment was good, just a shame so late... worth a visit thank you to the hotel for being cautions in this difficult time and respecting the visitors it was very clean with all staff wearing masks. Every member of staff have been amazing! Pool service drinks on offer and table service ... what more due you want... Appreciating the difficult times we’re in a thank you is received well.
We visited the local town but found this to be very quiet with many shops and bars closed, it took only 10 mins in a taxi costing 50l & if you wanted to see something different worth an afternoon out.

My friend and I travelled September 19 for 12 nights, we booked 2 seperate courtyard rooms but were both upgraded to a romance suite each located opposite each other. The room was amazingly spacious it was clean and mini bar well stocked daily. The view from the terrace was fabulous and is without doubt the most sumptuous room I've ever stayed in. Food was excellent and the restaurants were meticulously clean, We visited the Al A Carte a few times and was really impressed with food and the attention given by the staff. The beach was kept beautifully clean with pristine clear waters.Pool area was also clean and staff came round regularly with water and drink requests. We went to relax and didnt attend any night time entertainment so cant comment. I am really impressed with the Bodrum area specifically the sea and beaches and have booked to return again in May 2020 this time to the Bodrum by Paramount Hotel which is adjacent to the one we visited in May 2019 The Rixos Premium which was also a brilliant hotel. The staff at Xanadu Island were exceptionally attentive and served us with a smile they are a credit to the hotel. I also think that it was really good value for money too, we booked with Jet2.com, I would return to the Xanadu however there are so many excellent hotels in Turkey particularly in Bodrum that it wont be this year but would highly recommend it to those looking for a 5 star stay with a chilled relaxing vibe.

We have just returned from our first visit to Xanadu Island. It really is in a beautiful setting with amazing views. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable with tasteful decor. The standard of cleanliness is brilliant all around the hotel, which is reassuring with the current Covid situation, staff are always very friendly and helpful and do their upmost to maintain the safety of their guests with everything they have in place, providing face masks and sanitiser (unfortunately not all nationalities seem capable of respecting the hotel guidelines and other guests safety by not wearing their masks in the relevant areas, which is really not that hard to do). Around the pool the staff work hard, constantly checking if you require any water or drinks of any kind.
There were just a couple of issues with housekeeping, our room not being made up,even though we left the green light switched on for doing so and tea, coffee and fruit juice items not being replenished daily, even though we informed reception it happened again the next day. Whilst we are aware these are testing times and some things are having to be done differently e.g. serving of food, which at lunch time was table service with options from a menu and you had all your courses brought together on a trolley, it was disappointing that whilst it was lovely food and well presented, it was often lukewarm, sometimes cold, which wasn't the case in the speciality restaurants We know that the management always like to please their guests as much as possible and would hope they me able to rectify these issues, as we would really like to return to this lovely hotel.

In case you are hesitating about coming with the current restrictions I would say that in spite of the 2wk return quarantine, I’m glad I came.
Whilst we all run the gauntlet of the airplane journey, once we arrived the taxi driver was masked and provided hand sanitiser and chilled water. Upon arrival at the hotel our temperature was automatically taken from a thermal sensor. Check in was speedy and we were allocated our very spacious room. Masks available at the restaurant as is hand sanitiser everywhere around the hotel, in our room and on the restaurant tables. All cutlery is pre-bagged and sanitised.
The hotel itself appeared to have about 40% occupancy whilst retaining a sense of atmosphere so very leisurely and relaxed. Hotel is very comfortable, staff all masked and every single member of staff extremely polite and eager to provide excellent service.
The main swimming pool is lovely and a welcome reprieve from the heat of the day. Evening entertainment is low key but just right for us. So on to the review of food and drink, breakfast available virtually If not all morning and provided us with fruits, eggs, and some cooked options, all carefully covered and served by staff. Perhaps not the variety of foods we might have expected pre COVID, but certainly enough to make a good start to the day.
For me the waiter service lunch was 5* all the way, with a good menu of salads, hot and cold starters and a nice choice of hot mains. The wine (rose and red) is very drinkable and if you have room, there is a nice selection of desserts. Although I never tried the other outdoor restaurants, other guests have reported that the food is very good.
Poolside staff very attentive, and music relaxing and not too loud that you can’t talk or read.
The evening meal provided enough choice to finish off the day, following a good lunch. Again, the evening food is served by helpful staff and whilst all the covered food has a label above it, even with my glasses on, I did struggle to identify what was on offer. My husband just signed to staff to lift the lids so he could make his choice. My husband was not out of place with smart evening shorts and a shirt.
We tried the Italian al a carte one evening and it did not disappoint with a large menu of foods on offer.
Bring your mozzy sprays as I did experience irritating bites during late evening drinks at the outside bar.
All the alcohol is of good quality and still available during the early hours of the morning, if you are up for it.
The grounds of the hotel are very well kept and sprawling enough for us to walk round a few times to make up our daily steps! The waters looked crystal clear, no stresses about sun loungers as there were plenty available. The loungers had canopy’s so no sun brollies needed. All in all, it give the hotel a 9 out of 10 and would wholeheartedly recommend and I would return. Come and enjoy!

A really lovely place, great room ( sunset room) We found the food excellent, great quality although could be hotter. Spent most days at the archipelago bar. And visited Turgutreis three times. Beautiful harbour and plenty of restaurants and shops. Hotel staff we found inconsistent, Rosebud bar of an evening sometimes great sometimes having to go find a member of staff or go to the bar myself. The main restaurant , we found often especially breakfast and dinner, having to wait quite sometime for cutlery and drinks. As I said I found the food really good the chefs serving the food very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was ok. The firestorm show the best by far. Covid- sanitiser everywhere, all staff constantly worn masks BUT one exception . The entertainments manager. We were there 11 nights . He actually stood out because he didn’t wear his mask . Just kept it round his elbow, which was a shame as ALL other staff wore masks . On leaving our pickup was 20.00 hrs. I requested late checkout. I was told our room was free and not needed so no problem, we can have it till 17.00. I asked for 20.00 and was told it would be €50 I asked for a complimentary room to use prior to departure, but the hotel do not operate this. Luggage was taken to the luggage room which is actually left out next to reception. Also no scale to check weigh cases. A previous review states it the little things that make the hotel. Totally true. Compared to other 5 star resorts. Xanadu was left wanting.

This was a Holiday carried forward from 2021 to celebrate our 30 th Wedding Anniversary, We had been looking forward to it and we’re not disappointed,
Our Sunset Suite was lovely, Large Bathroom with a lovely big shower , Bath, Wash hand basin and toilet , Bathrobes and slippers provided,
A large lounge with two 2 Seater settees,Television, Mini Bar which was restocked daily, A large sliding door led to a large Balcony with seats and table,
The Hallway had a Full length mirror and an Enclosed Wardrobe,
Our Bedroom had a large Kingsize bed Television two seater we’re and wardrobe with plenty space and hangers and also included a safe,
Our view from the Balcony looked over a pool but also had a sea view looking over to Kos,
The food in the buffet Restaurant and from the Grill was excellent with lots of choice for everyone, There was also good food available at the pool including Pasta, Burgers and mini burgers for kids. Iced lollies were also available here all day.
At the bars there were premium drinks available, This included Glenlivit whisky, Pink Gin, Absolute Vodka and Bottles of Miller,
Last but not least ( The staff ) from the Chambermaids to the Management they were excellent,
The guys at the pool bar made sure you never went without Water( Hydration ) Beer, Soft drinks or others including Cocktails,
The Bar staff at the Rosebud Bar were very attentive and made sure you always had a drink,
The Restaurant staff were brilliant making sure that the Wine and water were topped up constantly, The Coffee and Tea were always on hand and that empty dishes were cleared away promptly,
Special mention to the young lady who was promoted while we were there as she kept us busy learning more Turkish words , She also picked up some Scottish words like Gaun yerself from us ,Nice accent from the Black Sea area. Also the Restaurant Manageress who looked after us, Greeted us with a smile and asked how we were everyday.
All in we were delighted with the Hotel, The only Downside is the distance from anywhere to walk to and browse shops, A Taxi to Tugetrise was €6 not a lot, And we also took a trip to Kos by Catamaran, Which was very £30 per person reasonable..

Just returned from a 2 week stay at Xanadu Island , a perfect holiday even due to all the trouble we are facing at the moment. The staff were all amazing and friendly , they remembered your drink order and where you preferred you sit for your meals . The room was cleaned every day to a high standard , the mini fridge restocked daily and the laundry staff were impeccable in the work they do . The food was amazing every day , not one day were you stuck for something to eat and the chefs were excellent. The reception staff could not do enough for you , it was my husbands birthday while we were away and they sent a cake and a bottle of champagne to our room at lunch time , then they send a vase of Rose's and a bag of balloons and when we went down for dinner we received another bottle of champagne . We cannot say a bad word about this hotel and will definitely be going back.

The season shall come to an end and it is time to explore something typical for the local Turkish tradition and usual service for the location of Bodrum. The region seems calm and no significant changes except for the traditional Turkish hospitality. The proper provision of a more luxurry service remains constant even this year, when the visitors seem a little bit different of the usual clientele. In the beginning of October there is a large group of Dogan opticals which create a rather busy ambient and is an option to look at the status of the typical Turkish family with average living standard and behaviour and sometimes irrelevant to the style of the resort. This year the indoor part of the main restaurant is designed to be without full table clothing. Now it looks more like a canteen and not of a place part of a luxurious resort. The overall level of cuisine is high as usual. The morning variety of Turkish traditional breads and pastry products is limited tremendously and does not represent any value to the visitors any more. The burek offered during breakfast could be defined as not very successful. The red wine however is of very high quality, completely irrelevant to what we are used to expect of Turkey wine. The waiters are providing decent service with no personalised approach. The evening meal most of the times is quite disorganised in terms of service and does not provide any value to the experience. The public is rather mixed in terms of attitude to vacation and cultural specifics, most of it being an average or below average.

We have finally visited this hotel after five previous holidays we cancelled for various reasons and we are delighted to have experienced the wonderful service provided by all the staff from the moment we checked in until the sad time that we checked out. The service provided from the room maids cleaning the room and the laundry ladies picking up the laundry and returning it promptly was high class. The food in the main restaurant and the snack bar was among the best we have ever received in the many hotels we have stayed in and the service provided by the staff was again high class. The staff in the Rosebud bar were very welcoming and very hard working both behind the bar and delivering the drinks to your table they did not like to see you with an empty glass at anytime again high class service We had upgraded to a romance suite, the room 3302 was enormous with a huge round bed, a large walk-in dressing room, a jacuzzi bath and a large shower room with a very powerful rainforest type shower. As part of the room package we received free massage at the spa which was very good and also a free photo being provided by the onsite photographer, we decided to have a photo shoot with him and ended up buying a set of photographs at a very reasonable price we were delighted with the quality of the photos and would recommend any guest to try the photo guys out there is no pressure to buy We found anytime we were in contact with either reception or the guest service staff they were very helpful and friendly We had a very relaxing holiday and met lots of lovely people who all said the same as us that this was a wonderful hotel but that the staff made it extra special as they went way beyond the normal to ensure you had a brilliant holiday, we would highly recommend this hotel

Our sunset suite was lovely. Separate sitting room to bedroom, and the bathroom is really large and luxurious. Watched the sunset on the balcony every evening. Hotel grounds are kept immaculate and their Covid measures are good. (Free masks for everyone at the buffet restaurant, hand sanitiser on all tables and throughout hotel). Staff were all lovely, and I’m sure there were smiles on their faces under the masks! Branded drinks available, and they don’t hold back on the sizes of measure! Local red wine was good too. Buffet breakfast and evening meal, and table service lunch (beware though, all food ordered will arrive at the same time!) Not the best food I’ve had, but acceptable’buffet’ meal. Ideal hotel if you want to have complete relaxation, as it’s not close to any resort; you’ll need to order a taxi for that. Special mention must be made to the 10am wake up call 🎶 good morning, good morning🎶😆

Hello, first of all, thank you for contacting us. Due to the changing weather conditions in the Bodrum region, we occasionally adjusted the air conditioners so that they didn’t circulate air. We also have some buildings for guests who want cold air conditioning for their satisfaction. Our guests who wrote this review were actually offered other rooms, but they didn’t want to change.
You will appreciate that we make decisions based on the majority. Currently, all air conditioning in the hotel operates cold. I would like to convey that there is nothing to worry about regarding this issue.

Yes effes is served there . Not sure about other brands as when asked would I like a drink just asked for a beer and it tastes very nice and asked what is was and was told it was effes and very nice to . Never had before. Hope that helps
