My husband and I spent a few days in one of their log cabins and our stay included the meal plan. This resort has a fair amount of land on a picturesque lake, which included hiking trails and many location to enjoy the view. The meal plan was well worth it and the 'homestyle' food was excellent. We plan to go again next year.

We've been traveling to Loughborough Inn from NJ every year for 19 years (minus Covid). I absolutely love it there. If you are looking for peace, quiet, beauty, and views to die for, this is the place for you. We've stayed in different accommodations, but primarily stick with either a 2 bedroom lakeview cabin or the one bedroom log chalet.

The log chalets are gorgeous, but further back from the lake. They have a huge porch and a jacuzzi. The lakeview and lakeside cabins are a little less luxurious, but all have air conditioning and full kitchens (except Maples). We take advantage of the meal plan because the food is fantastic and plentiful and the dining room is a great place to socialize with other guests. It's like being home, but someone else does all the cooking!

Fishing is phenomenal on the lake and you can rent a boat at the marina, or bring your own. Just be sure to get a map that indicates where the rocks are, or you will be buying a new propeller!

Data is fine, internet is sketchy. But you'll not want to be in touch with the rest of the world, since it's so relaxing just being there. Besides fishing, there is an outdoor heated pool, kayaks, hydro bikes, volleyball, a kids' play ground, outdoor chess, etc. There's also a really cool nature trail through the woods.

If you are looking for a place to relax, reset, make new friends, and just "be", definitely treat yourself to a trip to Loughborough Inn.

The cabins are not only beautiful, but immaculately clean. The amenities are beyond any I've experienced before including everything you would want to keep young ones entertained. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly - really went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. The heated pool, some cabins and the grounds are disability friendly. Oh and the food - we had the meal plan and it was 100% worth it! My husband had the prime rib TWICE and we had a picnic lunch made up to take on a rented pontoon boat - plenty of sandwiches so good!

We stayed in the housekeeping cottages, so no comment on the food. Dinning room wasn't open due to covid. The square log cottages are beautiful inside. Amazing beds and bathrooms. Very comfortable. Inside access to the screened porch is also very nice.

property is nice. Walk out to the point, we had a campfire there at night. Also the hike on the nature trail is great (it could be a bit better marked). The main issue we had was that the swimming area in the lake could be nicer and a couple more canoes, paddle boats, etc. would be nice. Overall a great stay and we would return.

We had a family reunion at the Inn and it was amazing. Mark, the manager, was so helpful and accommodating. There was several common areas to enjoy, a large dock, kayaks, canoes, etc. to enjoy. They also have a large outdoor pool. The cabins were very clean and had everything you would need.

I go up about 3 times a year. The hospitality makes the 6 hr drive worth it. The fishing is excellent, with plenty of space and species to catch. You can't beat the price for lodging and the American plan. This is a great place for folks who want to put time on the water. They are incredibly accommodating and all around great people. The dining room is filled with generations of visitors. I have been going for 4 years and there are families with three generations of visitors.

Love this place!! It's a fisherman's paradise! From the friendly staff to the superior accommodations (we stayed in one of the square log cabins) to the delicious meals...it was perfect. The lake is beautiful and the fishing was fantastic for the 4 days we were there. We will be back in September!!

Have stayed here many times. This year was disappointing to see all the boat docks super deteriorated and unsafe. We stayed in the Bayview and no improvements in last 2 years. The mattresses are still the same and too soft. No A/C and celing fans only in bedrooms - they were noisy and one was really wobbly! Prices have go up and we expected to see more improvements. Staff is excellent!

Response from Loughborough_Inn, Manager at Loughborough Inn
Responded Jun 24, 2013
Dear Fisher Girl Pa, First off I would like to apologise for the delay in replying to your comments. I have just started to monitor Trip Advisor and saw your comments. I would like to thank you for taking the time to send in comments about Loughborough Inn, as we take all comments and suggestions seriously. I am sorry that your stay with us was not up to your expectations, but I would like to direct you to our web page www.loughboroughinn.on.ca to see the improvements that we have provided our customers over the past few years. I am very pleased that our staff was able to make your stay here more enjoyable. If you would send a contact number or address to TheInn@LoughboroughInn.on.ca I would be more than happy to discuss things with you directly at your convenience. As for improvements, we are continuously maintaining and upgrading the cottages and grounds. Our mattresses are replaced on a rotational basis as they do not all wear out at the same time and it is difficult to replace all of them in one year. The mattresses in Bayview are scheduled to be replaced in the next few years. I will check them out to see if they should be replaced sooner. I am sorry that you found them too soft for your liking, but it is difficult to get the perfect mattress for every person. I also wish you had brought to our attention, while you were here, that the ceiling fans were disturbing you. We have looked at them and made adjustments to them (they were out of balance) and they work much quieter now. I would like to say that several of our units have been renovated in the past few years and we will continue to renovate in the future. I would also like to point out that we have added wifi internet to the entire property and have satellite TV reception in each cottage or chalet. It is also important to note that our one bedroom Lakeview cottages have air conditioning and all of our log chalets have central heat and air conditioning. We now have 45% of our units air conditioned. We have added three new log chalets this year and they are our most luxurious units available. They feature living rooms with a wood burning fireplace, two bedrooms each with an en suite bathroom, both have an air jet bathtub and a separate shower. They also have a screened in porch for your added comfort. Please look at our new web site for new information and updates on the continued improvements we are trying to provide for our customers. With regards to the docks, you are absolutely right; they were in poor condition when you were here. We had two major storms prior to your arrival that did significant damage to them, but that is no excuse to have them in that condition. We have worked very hard on them and have all of them back in working order. We are currently in the process of removing the long cement docks and replacing them with a long breakwater and new slips. We hope to have them completed soon. When they are done, they will significantly improve our docking facilities. Sincerely, Harvey Webster Manager Loughborough Inn

Thank you for your wonderful comments on Loughborough Inn and Loughborough Lake. As you probably saw from our web site, there have been many changes to Loughborough Inn since the 50’s, but we have kept the relaxed, family atmosphere! Loughborough Lake is still a very clean lake and has great fishing, especially for Bass (both large and small mouth). I hope that someday soon, you can fit us into your vacation schedule, we would love to have you come back. Please contact us with any questions. Sincerely, Harvey Webster Loughborough Inn
