My brother in law booked rooms for the night before his wedding. The staff treated them with disrespect and made every interaction for basics (towels, clock, iron) difficult with their poor ethics then double charged him for his rooms. Lots of other more than decent places to stay if you're in the area. Don't give this place your money or time.

Was driving down the highway looking for a place to flop. Saw this, and knew that if it was still operating that it would be cheap. Located beside a school bus yard. It is a creaky old wooden two-storey motel. On the second floor it really creaks when someone goes by. Rather low price and appeals to blue collar folks. Friday night: local youth like to drive up and down the road, revving their pickup trucks, then stop in parking lots to drink, then drive some more. More up$cale places in town also looked somewhat cattle-town-yahoo too. Soap but no shampoo. Basic, but bed was comfortable and had a working TV. Mini fridge and a phone but no alarm clock, as I recall. Well used, but plumbing and electrical was operational. Lots of notices around about excessive noise, so I guess the place has a history. Appears that there is no staff on duty through the night but the motel provides a number to call in case of noise. Stayed for $75 including tax, so was fair value for that price. No marble and uniformed butlers in this price range, right? Really nothing to complain about since there were no parties etc to disturb things. Plenty of parking.

Really rude management, empty parking lot and they had "NO" rooms available. If you are in the area and looking for a place to stay the night go anywhere but here, didn't even rent a room because of how rude they were.

This is a really mixed review, so read to the end.
Stayed here as it's pretty much the only decent place in Barrhead, which is a frightening statement. I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a new hotel in Barrhead since 1960. Across the road is a newer looking one, but my parents stayed there a few years ago and it was miles worse and is obviously an updated version of a 60s hotel.
But I digress.
Sunset Cove is bathed in sunset but there isn't a cove for miles. It's old, outdated, a copycat style from most 60s/70s hotels, and not unique in any way.
That being said, I will say one MASSIVE positive for this hotel. It's the only reason I gave it 4 stars, when it deserves 2 or 3. It's CLEAN, and priced right. This is a unique thing in Barrhead and therefore when I come back (I have family here) and need a place to stay, I'll use this one.
You get what you pay for here. At $65ish to about $75ish a night, you get exactly what you pay for. The rooms are somewhat stale and there's no way to get moving air, so we had the fan on the entire night. The TV was a 19" computer monitor that was glowing, so I unplugged it.
There is no hair dryer and no toiletries whatsoever except for a bar of soap, so be prepared here.
The place very obviously old. The floor is saggy in spots and the bed is springy and old style.
There is some good here though. There are plenty of places for you to put your things, the fridge is ice cold and larger than a mini fridge, the wifi is pretty good (though no password required, so use your firewall) and the room has blackout curtains, so the room is nice & dark. It's a family place (I think) and the older woman who was cleaning was super friendly.
I never heard any traffic or noise outside or from other guests, but I think there was only one other guest.
There is a massive negative here though: There is zero wheelchair access. If you have any mobility issues whatsoever, you'll have to find somewhere else to go. You'd be unable to access the reception/check-in area (where the young man was a cheery drunk, btw. He wasn't completely drunk, but the smell of fresh alcohol was easy to detect and he was quite happy, and able to do his job). The rooms are not wheelchair accessible, even from the first floor. There is no elevator to the second floor, so be prepared to haul your gear. I'm glad I had a backpack instead of a suitcase.
Here's the important part though: All of the things I've said above aren't technically negatives. If I was staying at the Ramada in Edmonton or something, I'd be really ticked off at being nailed $130 and getting this.
But this was affordable and CLEAN. I can put up with a heckuva lot of old & out of date and missing things if it's clean and quiet.
This place was. Yup, it's missing a lot of the creature comforts but I didn't come there to watch TV, I came there to sleep, and sleep comfortably I did.
There's air conditioning (and it's pretty updated), free wifi, and again - it's clean!

Worst hotel! Beer cans and vomit in the parking lot, the stairs and floors may give out at any time. Owner was obviously intoxicated while checking in around 1pm. Do not stay here! Rude rude rude owners. ABSOLUTELY disgusting and dissatisfied. Did not feel safe here.
