Nestled on a prime beachfront, Bahia del Duque has garnered appreciation for its relaxed atmosphere and comprehensive amenities, such as multiple pools and diverse dining options, according to guests. While the rooms receive mixed views, with some finding them outdated and others praising the spacious, modern suites with stunning views, service generally earns high marks for friendliness and helpfulness. However, some visitors have called out the value proposition as disappointing, pointing to overpriced services and additional costs. Cleanliness is consistently upheld, despite occasional housekeeping lapses.

I checked in to this hotel a couple of days ago and plan to stay for a week!
The property is huge and set over many acres and has been designed to look like a Canarian village. It’s hilly but there is a team of buggy drivers who will take you where ever you need to go so mobility is not a problem.

There are numerous pools, bars and restaurants, adults only areas so lots of variations to choose from, and wherever you go safety is paramount and you do feel that they’re being very careful about COViD-19. The main beach is just outside the hotel so it backs onto the sea and sits in probably the best location in Costa Adeje!

We opted for the more expensive option a ‘Casas Ducales’ room which has it’s own exclusive wing in the hotel where the rooms are really comfortable, satellite TV with the main UK channels, a plentiful supply of hot water and Aqua da Parma toiletries!

These rooms are basically an all inclusive drinks package with access to a members lounge with branded alcohol, snacks and canapés, you even get your own sun deck with drink on tap. You can even eat your breakfast in your own lounge although the choice at the main buffet restaurant is bigger. There’s a well stocked mini bar but you don’t really need it and the room service is good.

The BIG difference here FROM other 5* hotels is that ALL the staff are just excellent, from reception to the buggy drivers, the chaps who ensure your sun loungers are clean & tidy to those who clean your rooms and replenish with various items, it’s all done with a smile and nothings too much trouble.

When you come back to your room there’s always a little surprise from a bottle of bubbly, chocolate strawberries, fresh fruit and even posh cake.

I really can’t fault this place and look forward to the rest of my holiday! I think this is the best holiday hotel I’ve probably ever stayed in so well done everyone here.

Just returned from a lovely week at this hotel.
It is vast with many restaurants and bars although not all were open due to Covid and the main buffet restaurant was only open for breakfast not in the evening so only A La Carte restaurants available.
We pre booked our restaurants prior to our arrival and I have to say the reception staff were exceptional in replying to our emails and requests. Very quick and informative.
The service prior to going made booking our restaurants easy and it was no trouble changing times once at the hotel. We never had any trouble booking any restaurants.
We arrived at midday but our room was not available until 1.45pm so we went for a complimentary welcome drink in the wine bar and sat in the sun.
The reception kept us informed by telephone regarding our room being ready it was very efficient.
Prior to visiting I emailed the hotel for a quiet room with a sunny balcony (we booked a sea view room) and we were given a beautiful room with sea and pool view with a sunny balcony.
We ate at all the restaurants, we had upgraded to half board and could have a starter, main and desert. Some dishes had a small supplement for half board but the supplements were small and not necessary as lots of choice included with no supplements.
Our favourite was the Italian and Sua but that is just a personal choice all had nice menus and excellent service.
Plenty of sunbeds available and more being put out as the week got busier with guests.
Lovely service from the pool staff who cleaned the sun bed and then laid a cover and towel on all freshly changed daily.
Room was a good size, comfortable bed and everything you could want including a pillow menu.
Large very comfortable bed and fast separate shower with nice toiletries.
Entertainment not really to our taste except a duet and singer. It would have been nice to see dancing.
Lacking during the day was pool snacks and ice cream. It would have been nice to have a sandwich whist sat round the pool or an ice cream without having to have a sit down more formal meal at lunch.
Decor of hotel was beautiful and position of hotel was lovely.
Not sure it is for the immobile as lots of steepness nd many stairs although they do offer a buggy service for the less mobile.
Would definitely return for the staff alone who were professional courteous and attentive.
All staff were amazing and courteous from reception to pool staff to gardners.
Thank you for a lovely week.

This was our first visit although the friends we were with had been many times before. First impressions are important so when we arrived by taxi at the gate and gave our name we were pleased to be greeted by name when we reached reception. The staff on reception were helpful giving us details about the facilities. We were taken to our room with our luggage by golf buggy. We were shown the facilities in the room and on request given a kettle as we wouldn’t use the coffee machine. The room was large with a balcony and a view over the complex to the sea. The bathroom was very nice with both bath and separate shower and dual sinks.
Whilst this is called a hotel it is really a resort complex with multiple pools, restaurants and other facilities. The most remarkable feature is the amazing architecture, I do not think there is anywhere else in Tenerife that can match it.
If we had any criticism it would be about the restaurants ( rated separately) which were in general pretty average with sometimes slow service and pricy menus.
The hotel is expensive and this pays for the large numbers of staff who are always on hand to help. Whilst this level of service is good it sometimes seems conducted to a formula which can seem a bit indifferent.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay for two weeks and is to be recommended for a very different experience from a standard type 5 star hotel.

I am a passionate of hôtels and I had always thought that the day I had come to Tenerife I would stay at Bahia del Duque. To be honest we are not passionate of big hotels or resorts but it’s true that BdD delivers the perfect holiday experience. Once you arrive you are welcome by friendly porters, perfectly dressed in their typical uniforms. Check in was fast and then we were quickly escorted to our room with one of their buggy. The room was very spacious, perfectly appointed. Traditional and modern at same time. Breakfast in the morning was HUGE. Never seen something like that! A lot of food...and always friendly staff. The pools are large. Only one is heated but we could have a quick swim also in the cold one. In February! The beach is just out of the garden gates: 2 mètres and you have your foot in the sand! The beach is managed by the hotel but it’s not included and local people can use it too. The prices are cheap. We used the spa for one day and it was very nice (especially the massage). There is a little charge for it, definitely worth as you have a peaceful and exclusive experience.
The service in the resort is always present, not oppressive, very professional and friendly. The night we arrived Tenerife suffered a thunderstorm of sand coming from the Sahara (locals call it Calita) something extraordinarily strong, that impacted all the streets, hotels, gardens. But starting the following morning, all the staff were working hard to fix everything. And they did it very quickly!
Since I love hotels, I had a tour in all the five stars property around BdD and, to be honest, no one looked better to me. We were very curious to see the Ritz Carlton Abama so we want there for dinner once. Despite it is very posh and modern, it was like “lost in the middle of nowhere”, with a sense of total isolation. So, we would chose BdD again for its position (walking distance to local bars, restaurants), the beautiful promenade in front of it for a perfect run and, overall, for the relaxed and friendly atmosphere: it will grant you a perfect holiday!

This hotel does not do it.
We stayed in the extra cost Casa Ducales section.
The upside on this is once you have paid up, your breakfast, daytime snacks and beverages are included.

We had two rooms, first one Room 335 was so unbelievably noisy, tiled corridor outside transmitting noise, tiled bedroom floors transmitting noise, thin room dividing walls not keeping out any next door noise, noise from above, noise everywhere, a total disaster.
We complained and thankfully we were moved to Room 218 which was much improved, nice room, no one above, much reduced noise and an end room.
Without moving room, relaxation would have been impossible.

The major disappointment is the lack of quality of the evening meals. The on site Hacienda restaurant was acceptable, though limited menu with good service, the server Mohamed being a star, great guy and good service. All other restaurants on site were adequate at best, the El Bernegal, the main buffet restaurant, charging 52 euros per head, was terrible. Quality of food poor, service adequate, but the food just terrible, bordering on rip-off.

We took taxis to escape and get some good evening food, at reasonable prices, you should not need to do this.

Would I return, NO is the answer, expect more from a "quality" hotel. Gives the distinct impression that the place needs an upgrade, and a Food and Beverage Director who knows what they are doing.

Give this hotel a miss.

My fiancé and I stayed at the Bahia last week and really enjoyed it. Like everyone we had concerns travelling abroad especially as Tenerife was caught up in the larger Spanish quarantine area but it was worth it.
The hotel was spotless and constantly being cleaned by the friendly staff. The social distancing has been implement well with the hotel chain having thier own custom signage that shows they have invested in this in the long term and not just thrown generic safety signs everywhere to ‘tick the box’. All staff were wearing masks constantly and I never saw any of them without one, even the pool area assistants in the 30c heat! The breakfast buffet was a great selection and again well managed from a safety perspective with a one way system, staff would add items to your plate to avoid guests touching tongs but plastic gloves for items like pastries, toast and fruit where guest could help themselves. Although the hotel was quiet with I believe only around 100 guests this didn’t matter because it meant more room around the pool and it felt more private and the service was very attentive. The Bahia is one of the top two hotels in the Adeje Bay Area and I would stay there again without a doubt.
Please remember to tip any staff who do go the extra mile they always appreciate it and look after you for the rest of the time you stay.

We stayed at the hotel in May 2021 (COVID crisis + start of the season = not even 50% of the rooms were booked)

Therefore, it was quite calm and super enjoyable
Environnement is really beautiful, you will appreciate the views and beach front convenience
Hotel is located in a quite crowded and touristic area, but from the facilities it does not look like that. The way the hotel is built makes you feel like you are somehow isolated.

Staff makes your stay amazing: always smiling and happy to help. Definitely a big asset in this hotel.

Although getting a bit old (hotel rooms doors getting really old, clogged sinks) facilities remain comfortable and always very clean.

Beware, hotel rooms are not soundproof.. it is worth making sure you do not have noisy neighbors nor a noisy environnement around.

Food in general in the restaurants is very satisfying
Buffet Breakfast is delicious, but be patient to get a waiter’s attention for beverages delivery in the morning (Perhaps breakfast is understaffed during low season?)

Spa is amazingly beautiful, really worth trying
Also, go discover the BDB Norte Bar on the beach promenade, you’ll spend a very nice beach moment

Great shows organized in the evening, very nice to sit at the wine bar while watching

We are very likely to come back, we are happy about the stay, hopefully the place is as well taken care of when hotel is full
Next time we’ll book a higher standard room for more space and tranquility

Stayed here for two nights. Initially the plan was to stay at the Ritz resort but then a friend recommandâtes that we must try Bahia del Duque in the south. Turned out to be a great decision. All the villas were full so we booked a delux ocean view, which was nice but the air con noise kept me up all through the night and the receptionist on duty, Miguel, kindly offered another room for me to sleep for the rest of the night. Francisons who was working in the day shift was very friendly, efficient and helpful. Luckily they had a villa available and so we took it and spend our second night at a beautiful one bedroom villa. It was quite spacious and eloquently designed with a mini indoor pool and a garden pool which were actually spacious enough for a family of four. The bed was comfortable and everything was made elegant. The turndown service was prompt and they lit the candle in the garden and brought us chocolates. The mini-bar was included, but didn’t have any alcohol. So we ordered beers and they brought us an extra bucket of ice to keep the beers cool! Nice! The butler service was tad bid slow but not to a point of annoyance. And everyone was wonderful and courteous. We had a fabulous time and would love to come back for a longer period next time. Btw, they had buffet breakfast in the main hotel and a la carte in the villas. And everything was well managed without too much trouble to ensure everything is cool with the COVID-19 guidelines.

My wife and I returned to this hotel for the third visit. It’s convenient from the airport, and located on a lovely beach cove setting. The immediate surroundings to the hotel have been tastefully developed with some classy shops and restaurants. The hotel is a really lovely place, inside and out. A golf cart service does help you get around if needed, especially at night from the beach gate after a few vinos! It’s better if you book a sea view/pool view room to enjoy the Sun morning or night. Staff are well trained and highly polite. Food is excellent in the buffet both for breakfast or dinner, but a classy choice of restaurants available which you should book upon arrival, so do your homework on these before you arrive. This time we only went B&B so we could dine out for a change at night as local restaurants are very very good. Lovely hotel bars and first class entertainment available through the year. All in all it is fair to call this hotel one of the leading hotels in the World, they work hard at it....very well done.

The Del Duque is a five or six star hotel In Adeje Tenerife. It is the only hotel in Tenerife listed in the Best Hotels in the World.
Given that there are several five star hotels in Adeje this is indeed some accolade!!
We chose a room with a garden view as opposed to a sea view.
When we arrived the reception area was very impressive and we were not disappointed by the other communal areas either. Also, the areas around the numerous pools were wonderful if it hadn’t been for the litter left under sun loungers by the careless cleaners.
We were taken to our room later in the afternoon or early evening and it was already dark but not as dark as the decor and furnishings in the room itself!!
After a lovely breakfast we decided to complain about the room and the limited garden view due to the large succulent foliage opposite the small balcony.
We were transferred to a room with a sea view but although brighter and with better natural lighting it only highlighted the poor old furnishings of an hotel in serious need of an upgrading of most of their rooms.
Hosting the soccer teams from Barcelona and Real Madrid could have been the reason for damage to the door frame near the lock where it appeared that the door had been forced open perhaps after the loss of a door card!!! There was no proper repair of the frame.
I would not recommend this hotel as being up to the necessary standard expected and the prices charged when there are others that offer better value in Adeje.

The hotel is amazing, but the experience can change drastically depending on room (they are not created equally) personally I would never book anything less then sea view. I have been there 8 times, I have walked all arround the property with the manager. Trust me Seaview nothing less.

Only buffet at breakfast, a al carte restaurants in an evening. Although there is a small pool for children, I don’t think Bahia Del Duque is particularly child friendly, so would look at alternatives where there are more facilities,
