Detailed Reviews
Yesterday we had lunch with friends and exited at left side of building no problem encountered. Today tried to pass through going to the beach but not allowed to because they say you can if your going to eat in their resto. What a disappointment.. Talked to the supervisor but she sided with her employee, states that it is a private property. I am a senior citizen and as a privilege we can pass through to the most convenient way as possible. I was not able to convince her to side with me and the only words she said is to apologize. I was about to eat again but no more.

FatWavwe Surf Resort is ideally located in front of the Urbiztondo,San Juan Beach. Accommodating is so good, the people who'll serve you from the frontdesk, to the restobar to the housekeeping are so polite and very nice. They have these good for 2-3 rooms (with aircon) that may only cost you for about 1500 on a regular day (costs us 2700 since it is holiweek).
Anyway, the son (Inigo Miguel Dulay) of the owner of this beach resort is one damn hot guy LOL :)

Finding the Fatwave Surf Resort was a pleasant surprise as I did not see it listed on my usual travel websites but found it just walking around San Juan beach. My room was large, clean and
was equipped with a double bed plus an additional pullout single mattress and included a free breakfast. The private bath had a raindrop showerhead and thick cotton towels. Located on a deck above the beach, the open air
bar and restaurant has a tasty menu, cold drinks and is complete with a view of the South China Sea. The service is excellent!

Went for dinner with my family, 8 people in total. We were seated upstairs which was nice. We ordered food for 8 people including a chicken platter. The waitress returned to say the platter wasn't available. We ordered a different platter, the waitress returned to say it wasn't available. We ordered alternative individual dishes. The pizza and fries arrived. The sisig arrived sometime later with rice but without plates or cutlery. We asked for plates and cutlery which arrived after 15 minutes and 3 times of asking. The 2 other dishes finally arrived after having to remind the waitress again. Pizzas were finished well before the rest of the food arrived. Sisig was cold and the egg was totally cooked before cutlery arrived. When we asked for the bill there was a 25% service charge which I requested to be removed. The waitress then questioned why I wanted it removed to the point of argument. I've never encountered service quite as bad, to expect a service charge to be paid is laughable. To want to argue about it is unacceptable. We will not return.

May 4-5,2024- We booked 2 Barkada Rooms for a overnight family trip this weekend. The rooms are fine but located beside a restaurant/bar. We have 3 senior citizen and 3 kids with us. So the bar opened at around 9-10pm and the music seems too loud considering that there are guests who chose this resort for relaxation but we are bit disappointed as they do not have the control for it. We understand that it is not connected with the resort management itself and Elyu is known to have nightlife and all but upon reservation, we declared that we have 3 seniors with us. Knowing that there is a bar beside our rooms, maybe at least gave us rooms far from it so we cannot experience this kind of discomfort. We chose this resort since the last time we were here was July 2018 and had a great time with my family so we expect to experience it again this time. Really dismayed writing this review since we cannot get any sleep as of now, 1AM and we will be back to Manila later this afternoon. I'm wondering how many guests previously were concerned regarding this matter.

Room was very ugly as ugly as the „“owners““.
Tho I heard they Don’t Own the place but only renting it from a crazy person that they took for granted.
The staff Anna was very bad and rude, treated people like trash.
We reported the staff Anna to the owner Gloria but she just took her side and called us „“Idiots““ and just insulted and demoralize us the whole time.
Food is very bad.
Never stay here.

Breakfast is not free. Its required. Also, please double, triple check when you coordinate with the staff before coming over to La Union. I was told that the room came with own t&b, but when we arrived, the t&b is common. They charged extra because the lady gave incorrect calculation. Lack of attention to details. Lastly, I was told that the breakfast is for free, but when I asked for the breakdown of items, it is a separate item and it's required.

An extremely unpleasant experience brought on by the conduct of your supervisor, ANNABEL BAUTISTA.
Location is good -- it's just by the beach. Food is ok, recommend to try their longganisa pizza. Other staff are accommodating.

Room: Fan room, common use of toilet and shower for PhP 1,160 (with breakfast). It's literally a room with a fan and a bed with small side tables. And towels. Probably the oldest room in the resort. The rate is affordable enough but it's worth their old rate of PhP 700!
One common toilet for each gender but is common for both guests and staff. Good thing is they clean it often, but better if the resort adds more. No hot shower in common shower, it's okay but better if both h/c available.
Other disappointments...
Their website hasn't been updated for a long time. They should already because it's misleading.
Shower and toilet wardens on duty most of the day (even with big signs of "for Fatwave guest's only" -yes, with 's). We get it that they're doing this to prevent outsiders from using their facilities but it's such a turn-off in general, especially if the staff aren't well trained in customer service/don't have soft skills.
Was tired when we checked-in, receptionist asked for a certain amount from me to add, realized late that she should've been the one to have given me the small amount as change. Letting it go and considering it as a tip.
Breakfast of longganisa with egg and garlic rice, good. Instant coffee.
Good thing, staff wasn't able to reserve 2 nights for us. We gladly moved to another resort which made us realize more that their rates are slightly cheaper but not worth the money when it comes to facilities and service.

We waited 2 hours to have our burgers and it wasn't even too early. The staff is not reliable and it's a nightmare in the kitchen. The food is not bad though but we waited so long that it became a painful and really bad experience
