Wow! What a resort this is. Probably going to shoot myself in the foot given this review but has to be said I love this place. Clean relaxed friendly and no fuss from anyone. Situated in sand on Paje beach the Echo cabins in the resort are just the ticket to unwind. Security (not that you need any) are provided by the local warriors who are happy to chat and show you thier "shop". Regular sweeping by staff give the place a fresh look each morning. Local fresh fruit for breakfast and if you love eggs you're covered. Are there any negatives..... 1 ! They could feed me enough chilled local beers must get a bigger chiller. Slow Internet my wife said but I never switched my phone on.

Bungalow accomodation in very simple houses. We missed aircondition in the very warm weather, but we were provided two fans after a couple of days stay. Very nice and friendly staff. OK breakfast and lunch. The service speed could be faster as almost all other service speed in Zanzibar - Hanna Matata.. 😃 But a special honor to Keytruda (?) for excellent service in the restaurant.

Wonderful beach plot and beautifully planned common hotel areas. 2 pools and lots of semi shaded areas during the palm trees for the kids to play. Nice beach bar and food / drinks were decently priced and yummy.
Staff very friendly. Check-in / check-out procedure was time consuming though. We however were a larger group travelling together, and restaurant bills had been mixed up despite asking for them to be billed each room.
Rooms were OK, clean and functional. In the bathroom there was no shower curtains though, hence everything easily got wet. Also no door to the bathroom, only a curtain as separation. AC well functioning at night, but daytime only weak effect and the hotel claimed this was due to limited electricity supply on the island. Of our four rooms there was only one that had a ceiling fan, made a big difference! (rooms in the apartment block at the far end of the hotel)
Average rating as I would have preferred a slightly higher standard of the rooms. At the same time, we made our reservation looking for a reasonably priced option over the holidays. I'd still say we got good value for money compared to many other places in peak season. But don't expect luxury.
Paje has a nice vibe to it! Lots of kite surfers in the water though, a bit stressful at peak times when taking the kids out to swim. Many restaurant options for lunches and dinners that you can walk to even at night which was lovely.

At so nice location and nature it could be a good resort, but there seems to be something wrong with management and staff - many of them are unhappy and does not know the standards of service, it seems like this job is suffering them. And this very strange comparing to other hotels in Zanzibar.
We were travelling as a group of 10 friends, so on arrival to this hotel the check in was very complicated like no where els. The manager was hard to catch up with the situation, the check in process was very lomg and chaotic.
The ECO bungalows are really economic and very old. The terrace doors doesnt close or you can open and close them without a key even its locked so thats good you don't need to care the key, but its not very nice when you have hide your wallet some where because there is no safe box in the room. The maids changed the towels only once in 4 days and never refilled the shover gel or shampoo.
Overall, the price does not match the quality of euipment and service.
And finally one more thing - the description states that hotel has a tennis court, so we believed and brought our rackets, but instead of a tennis court we found an old crumbling concrete court, which did not even have a net - I attach a photo.

We really liked this ecolodge because it is on the beach: the most beautiful in Zanzibar. The hut-shaped rooms are in the sand with a sea view. The staff is very kind . The food is very good: good fish and meat, delicious fruits. a perfect right for resting or kiting ... your choice .... total change of scenery! 💙

Great staff, great location, great cook. Everything was perfect, a few things might be improved or fixed but the staff is always there to help and make you stay unforgettable. At the end we enjoyed so much to be in a eco style boutique hotel in the middle of the nature rather than in a big resort. Many thanks to all the staff !

The beach is fine but full of kite surfers which makes it dangerous to bath and play in the water. UNprofessional staffs make it worse with the noisy loud staffs chatting amongst themselves in the beach bar competing with loud music (which I wonder why we need loud music in the beach). The staff gave us WRONG room as they gave us less beds than requested until we protested. Come and waste your time and money here in this beautiful turquoise beach. FUNtastic!

One of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. White sand between coconut trees and amazing tourquize colors of the Indian Ocean. Very good Asiatic menue, and most importantly lovely welcoming team.

I like this hotel very much. New, clean, light bungalow, condition, lovely terass. I enjoy the breakfasts and tasty food of the kitchen. Big territory, marvelous beach ⛱, with bar and good cocktails. The hotel is quite, friendly staff and nice pool area. The decoration of the restaurant and bungalow used eco materials. My staying there was pleasant.
