Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown garners positive reviews for its prime location near the Space Needle, with guests enjoying the walkability to nearby attractions. Many appreciate the contemporary design and the clean, spacious rooms, complete with kitchen amenities. Although the hotel's atmosphere and friendly staff receive commendations, some visitors mention issues with noise levels and suggest requesting higher floors for a quieter stay. While the breakfast earns high marks, opinions on the hotel's value are mixed due to additional costs and variable room quality.

Stayed here for 17 nights on a work-vacation and overall found it was a comfortable spot for the amount of time. They upgraded me to a room a bit larger than I had booked, which was great and provided more room to work and relax in. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very large. The roof deck is a great spot for sunset, especially looking out at the space needle and the bay.

Given the current pandemic times, I think they’ve done a good job of making sure things are appropriately spaced out while still maintaining a sense of normalcy. The breakfast is a simple takeaway of pre-packaged items, though the breakfast area looks like it would normally have more offerings. While most days it was totally fine, some days I needed something more sufficient, which thankfully there are some good options in the nearby areas. Their messaging is clear at both check in and within the room regarding housekeeping and other services available. Front desk staff were always helpful for getting housekeeping items as needed.

The only disappoint was their Wifi, which was slow on both the open and secured network. Things would load, but sites like Zoom were patchy.

Overall, would definitely stay again. Seattle Center and the Space Needle are right next door and great food options in Queen Anne, SLU and Belltown are all within walking distance.

We booked at the last minute and were treated to an unexpected value at the Hyatt House

From check in to check out our expectations were exceeded by the staff and the facility.

Our room looked out over the Seattle Center. The ac and heat worked perfectly and the beds were very comfortable.

I had a beer in the HBar, the bartender was an amazing resource for what to do in and around town.

The breakfast was included and has something for everyone including custom made to order omelettes.

The only thing to complain about is we wanted to stay longer!

This hotel has a great location (right across the Space Needle and start of the Monorail to Westlake). I was surprised at the size of the room since I saw some reviews were folks thought the rooms were small. They had a very efficient use of space with a full kitchen. Due to COVID, we tended to order delivery (via DoorDash) and they had a food delivery table right next to the front desk). Having the kitchen with plates and utencisl made it easy. They also have a guest laundry. The only bad thing was the parking was $30/day and there are only 2 elevators on premesis and 1 elevator was done a couple of hours. The housekeeping staff is also using the same elevators, so in the mornings it was faster to take the stairs (great since we were only on the 2nd floor, but sucks if you had were on the 7th floor). AND, only 1 elevator took you to the parking garage, so if you were trying to get an elevator for parking, you might have to go to the lobby and switch elevators). Also, the daily breakfast wasn't that great. It's free so can't complain, but we've stayed at other hotels with a free daily breakfast that was way more extensive. Finally, the front door that faces the Space Needle was broken, so you had to walk around to another entrance to get in.

This hotel is really worth it for the location for families.

First we arrived at 4:30 p.m. to check in and we were told our room was not ready. Secondly when they failed to bring coffee for the coffee maker I asked them at the front desk before we went out for the day. When we returned that night I noticed they did not deliver so I called the front desk at 8:30 p.m. and asked again. They finally delivered coffee without cream, sugar or cups after 9:30 when we were already in bed. Next due to Covid they were not cleaning rooms unless we scheduled a time when would be out so after not getting cleaned our second day we scheduled it for day 3. When we returned we found they didnt empty all the trash, they failed to make the beds, sweep the floor or even wipe off the counter tops. If you read all that I will tell you the location is great and very good access to many great destinations that Seattle has to offer.

Often times, my experience in Hyatt hotels in various branches have been mostly pleasant. However, my personal experience from this Hyatt House at Seattle Downtown was one of the worst experiences that I have had, so I have decided to leave a review.

1. Hyatt House Seattle hotel does not guarantee an onsite parking space. I was given a parking space in off-site parking lot 3 blocks away from the hotel. It is extremely inconvenient to go back and forth to that off site parking lot every morning when you leave and every night when you come back, and it is not worth the discounted price. If you have a baby, young children or older parents with you while visiting, make sure you know what you are getting into before booking this hotel, because they couldn't provide parking space when we visited during non-peak season, when hotel was very vacant and room rates were extremely low.

2. On the first day, soon after we checked in, we left all our luggage and personal items in our room, and left for dinner for 2 hours in one of the restaurants nearby. When we came back, we discovered that someone came into our room and took the room key that we have left in the key holder (we left it there for fridge). This happened in the evening on the day when we checked in, and I am unsure why staff would possibly want to get into the room and take an item while we were not in the room? Imagine what could have happened if we had left valuable items in the room.

3. Cleaning staff do not seem to receive any information from front desk about rooms' checkout schedules. Every single morning, they knocked our room door, and opened the door within few seconds and asked "Are you checking out today?" at 9:45am ish when they encountered us.

4. In-room heater was malfunctioning, such that it would not auto turn on when temperature falls below the temp limit that we set. We had to manually adjust temperature every hour or two just to make it start. We obviously couldn't do that while we were asleep, and our temperature in the room was always very low and cold every morning.

5. Lack of proper staff training, troublesome WIFI, broken elevator button lights, no World of Hyatt benefits, etc.

For all my friends and family that will be visiting Seattle in the future, I will definitely going to tell them to avoid this hotel.

This is a great location (when your GPS tells you the right block to go to, and you don't have to circle the wrong block 5 times). It's right near the Space Needle, Monorail, Chihuly, Museum of Pop Culture, restaurants, and some shows (McCaw Hall is one example). They have a rooftop terrace that we got to use for watching the Space Needle show on New Year's, which was awesome. Their bar food that we had one evening was great. The curtains include black out shades to them so the room can be completely dark. We would come here again.

We asked for an early check in but the room was not ready until nearly 5pm. The (very kind and professional) clerks said that they are selling all of their rooms but don’t have the housekeeping staff personnel to keep up with that demand right now. Management is aware but their are putting profits above home guest satisfaction. My second issue with the hotel is that they advertise having an on-site restaurant. This is a stretch, it is a simply a bar with a few limited food items such as soup or salad. If you stay here and expect parking, they charge for it and take note your car may not fit. Most of the parking spaces are impossible for midsize cars and up to get into. It’s so impractical. Our trip was ruined by this place, in fact we were so frazzled by everything that we checked out after only being in our room for a few hours, we never slept in the room. We just went back home. :(

I would have given this hotel 4.5-5 stars if the free WiFi wasn’t so horrendously bad. I don’t expect free hotel wifi to be fast but when it drops constantly to the point none of my Google Doc and Google Slide could save, and my Google Search couldn’t finish without a network interruption, that’s just annoying.

The hotel has a perfect location. The Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, Chihuly Garden & Glass Museum, monorail, and the Museum of Pop Culture are all literally across the street from the hotel. The Bill & Belinda Gate Foundation Discovery Center is 3 blocks away. 2 blocks from there is a QFC Supermarket. I have no complaints.

The breakfast is a rather impressive spread with made-to-order omelet, a buffet with bacon, home fries, scrambled eggs, and waffles. Plus bagels, oatmeal, fruit salad, etc.

All in all, I recommend this hotel if you’re on personal travel and can rely on your cell service to research your travel needs. If you’re here for a work trip, then think twice. You won’t get any work done unless you pay for a higher tier WiFi. And that’s assuming their higher tier WiFi actually work.

Overall we had good experience at Hyatt House. The location was excellent for the Space Needle and associated attractions. It was a bit far from Pike’s Place but we walked, did monorail, and even rideshare.

The hotel itself is a bit worn and tired in some areas. The rooftop deck needs some TLC. Our room on 7th floor had a coupe house keeping issues. The kitchen trash was not emptied (gross!) and there was a white stain on the couch (double gross!). We asked for extra bedsheets to cover the couch and house keeping came into remove the trash. I know it is a busy holiday time so did not make a big deal about it.

Positive notes: room is spacious, bed comfy, parking was easy, breakfast was great (considering Covid restrictions), and the hotel made clear effort to adhere into Covid safety protocols despite the ease in WA restrictions. We felt safe and the hotel was a good home base for 3 nights.

Do recommend and would stay again.

I phoned this hotel to ask if there was anything I could do for my friends birthday. I never in my wildest dreams expected the level of service I was given. Not only did this amazing staff upgrade our room, they gifted her wine and put us in the most beautiful room facing the space needle. The front desk lady was unbelievably kind and frankly deserves a raise because she was sweet as can be and extremely attentive. The on guard security offered to open the patio for us to share the bottle of wine while we sat by the fire. When I called to front desk the man who answered the phone was so sweet and wished my friend a happy birthday and made us feel so welcome. I honestly can not say I have ever had a better hospitality experience and I have traveled to over 20 countries. Thank you for making our evening you are wonderful!
