While the Mt Desert Narrows Campground boasts a stellar location near Acadia with scenic waterfront views, guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the rooms, citing them as overpriced with unclean laundry facilities and uncomfortable beds. Although the amenities like the store and shuttle service are appreciated for enhancing family stays, the campground's bathrooms have cleanliness issues. Mixed experiences with service range from commendation of the friendly staff to reports of disorganization. Despite the grounds being well-maintained, the value proposition is questioned by many visitors.

We had a great stay at the campground and took advantage of the free shuttle service into town, found a grocery store and was able to tour throughout Acadia National Park. Know before you go... you can't drink the water here so make sure you have bottled water on hand. The bathrooms weren't horrible but could use an extra scrubbing during cleaning. All in all the staff was very nice, helpful and accommodating for all our needs. We had a wonderful time!

The staff was wonderful here and the location on the island is good, but the layout of the sites needs work. They are really close together and some of the tent sites did not offer much level ground to pitch a tent or much space to park a vehicle without impeding on the tent area. The site did not have potable water but offered gallons of water at a good price.

The bathrooms need some work. There needs to be more soap and paper towels. Also the sink retains water and gets all over your clothes. Lastly the sinks need handles that stay on when you wash your hands and/or shave.

The pool was not shocked correctly and the water was cloudy. We had a white suit turn green!

The water coming into our camper was BROWN, even with having a filter attached at the tap. This was very disconcerting considering what you pay for the sites.

Our site was overall a nice one and the kids loved the pool despite the cloudy water. And we were VERY appreciative of the military discount given to us during our stay!

They claim the Bathrooms are "deep cleaned" multiple times per day. However, the truth is I saw spider webs and filth that had been accumulating for days. The shower stalls had very limited ventilation. We paid $92 per night for a basic tent site. the fire pit hadn't been cleaned in a very long time (cig butts piled in the pit). If you are in a totally self contained RV I guess you may be ok staying here due to the location. I can't recommend this place.

Very disappointed in campsite. Barely fit camper on site. Very hard to level unit. May be water front but no access at our site, basically mud flat. Site size and amenities are deceiving online. We were on top of neighbors and had to reposition our unit 3 times to be able to open slide. I reserved a site with slides opens and length of 29ft. We barely fit. Water is very discolored when hooked up, yellow to rust even after going through our filter. Water also had odor. We were unable to sit outside, lack of space and largely due to offensive and disgusting sewer order. The sewer system for the whole campground drains to the spot located across from our campsite. The smell was turning our stomachs and the campground could not move our site, too full. I am even questioning about how safe it was to breath this. We kept our AC unit on around the clock so we didn’t have to breath in nasty air. This also increased the bugs, I’m sure. Neighbors even had to place tents on our site so they could fit. No free WIFI also. We were never able to connect even after office rebooted system. We paid a very high rate for a week and since we could receive no refund we stuck it out but will not return. Corporate needs to address the needs of this campground, we will certainly share our experience and encourage other campers to check other options Very bad experience.

Been staying here off an on for over a decade, first time renting the cabin. The cabin is nice and spacious, has good working heat and AC and the screened in porch is very nice. They also have a propane grill on site for your use. However on this trip, the water was a very brown color. This was an ongoing issue and we were not informed prior to our arrival or even on check-in. Took till I asked about it before they informed me and offered us bottled water.

Next, the tub doesn't work. Shower does, but no tub. They knew about this as well, made it tough with little ones come bath time, especially in brown water.

There was pet hair everywhere, turns out it wasn't pets.......was squirrel fur. Apparently the squirrels made nest in the ac, when the cleaned it and ran it, it blew it all over the cabin. They said they cleaned it, but my kid who is crawling really did all the cleaning.

Lastly as just as an FYI, the cabin isn't little one friendly. cabinets, draws, sockets, and fire extinguisher are all fair game if you have explorers.

If we had known about any of the water issues or non working tub issues ahead of time, we definitely would have booked somewhere else with two kids under 3.

Convenient to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and other points of interest on Mt Dessert Island. The campgrounds are quiet and well maintained. We were there for over a week and found it to be a great place to base our adventures. The staff was wonderful. Every interaction was positive. They are knowledgeable about the area and recommended some wonderful restaurants and places to go. The rest rooms, while being a bit worn, we’re meticulous cleaned daily and are checked numerous times daily. There were even a couple of apple trees to grab a quick snack from! We will visit again.

The entire campground was very nice. Best campground bathrooms and showers I've ever seen. The showers are each individually enclosed, floor to ceiling with a nice sized bench and several hooks to hang towels, clothes, etc. The employees were all very nice.

The best ocean campsites are really awesome and totally worth the seemingly high price for a campsite. We stayed in campsite number 94 and launched our kayaks from the site for sunset kayaks every night. We loved it so much we extended our trip a day!

Fair pricing, Excellent customer service, nice and quiet, staff not bothering you. One of the only campgrounds I could find that would let you have up to 6 people per site without charging you an arm and a leg extra or making you get more than one site.

I'd visit again.

15 mins to acadia one way,
15 mins to ellsworth walmart the other way.
