The person checking us in was extremely pleasant and friendly. Thank you! We were given a room next to the large grassy dog area since we were traveling with two small dogs. The room itself was surprisingly spacious, but the carpet looked as if it hadn't been vacuumed in some time. Very visibly dirty. There was ceiling tile damage in the bathroom, with tiles hanging down, and the toilet seat was less than appealing to use. We appreciated that the pet fee was only $10, although they did charge our credit card a $50 refundable pet damage deposit. (We were reimbursed after check-out) All in all, this room was basic, and if clean, would have been very pleasant.

We recently stayed at the National 9 while on a trip to the San Rafael Swell with a group. The hotel is in the "budget" category so our expectations were modest. The hotel is in need of updating and smells of dirty carpeting. Decor is dark and rather depressing colors. The furnishings were minimalist, older and made of cheap pressboard as is standard for hotels in this price range. However, the bed was very comfortable and the heater/AC tolerably quiet and very efficient. The shower worked well. The toilet tended to run and got stopped up the second night of our stay. Towels are rather thin. Breakfast consists almost entirely of carbohydrates with only yogurt and hardboiled eggs for protein. But it was adequate for most people (this gluten intolerant reviewer excepted). We were pleased to find that our room at the end of the hallway adjacent to a stairwell was remarkably quiet - no late night guests stomping up the stairs and slamming doors. The front desk staff is pleasant and helpful. All in all, the value for the price is OK but we would not go out of our way to stay here.

Stayed two nights to hike in the Swell with our dogs, and it worked well for us.

We don't need or expect more than a basic room and a comfortable bed, and we were happy to find a pet friendly room near the hike we had planned for the weekend.

I found myself needing somewhere to stay while waiting for old owners to vacate our new home. I chose Price National 9 because of locatiion and the ability to bring my pet. At the front desk I have met the ALWAYS friendly and knowledgeable Stacie and Brandon. My room was carefully chosen for the comfort of my pet next to a huge grass area. As a bonus there was a playground that my grandkids loved! The room was imaculately clean and very comfortable. The maids Anna and Donita are really on top of things and wth the support of Scott and John I felt like family. This is somewhere I will definately recommend to anyone - including my picky relatives. The great breakfast every morning with always fresh coffee is the cherry on top!

I needed a place to stay for 1 night. This place was cheap and appeared comparable to all of the hotels in Price, Utah with the exception of the Price Holiday Inn Express. (Most hotels in Price were listed at $70-$110 a night. The Holiday Inn Express was $250 a night.)

Do not stay at this motel! The National 9 is simply gross. It is aged and needs a ton of money dumped back into it, if it were to be renovated. It is a dingy, old motel.

As we tried to settle into the room, my elementary age daughter pointed out there was a large stain on one of the comforters. I brushed it off, reminding myself of my other hotel options & that I didn’t want to pay 200+ dollars for a single night. Then I noticed more stains on the bed skirt and several stains on the other comforter. (We had two queen beds.). The lighting was dim and as I turned on the wall lamps the floor was visibly dirty and the edges around furniture were discolored with dust and dirt.

The sink dripped, but appeared to be clean. The tub also continuously dripped. The toilet was also constantly filling & swirling. This is disturbing because the west is in a drought people!!

I tried to reason with myself by telling myself the towels & bedding were white and had been laundered. After all, I didn’t need to be a prima Donna and I could tough this out for one night.

Too bad it gets worse…

My daughter climbed into the white sheets and immediately jumped back out of bed. There was a little black bug on the pillow! I was just about to dismiss it when I noticed a tinier black bug crawling in the sheets of the other bed! We are not camping - I draw the line at bugs! I grabbed my two children and sent them out to the car while I gathered all of our belongings. (Thankfully, the bugs did not look like any bed bugs images I found on the internet!!)

I acknowledge the person working the front desk did refund my money & apologized for the condition of the room. That is the lone shining star of this motel.

Luckily, we ended up with the very last room at The Holiday Inn Express. I am still not crazy for the cost increase - But, in Price, Utah you get what you pay for when it comes to hotels. The Holiday Inn Express delivered. It was clean, smelled new, had clean & cream carpet in the rooms, comfortable beds and a good selection of hot & cold breakfast foods.

I’ve attached pictures.

Room smelled like stale urine that someone had once tried to clean up, unsuccessfully. Couldn't get the TV to function. Floor felt hollow and weak ... It shook as we walked through the room. Corners were dirty with ??? Tissue box came out of the wall when I drew out a tissue.

The place is old, there was a smell in the room like urine smell. The potty area for dogs is not maintained, the grass is so tall we were afraid we would step on a poo. The ladies in front desk can get the 5 stars but the hotel itself is horrible. Breakfast is very basic, hard eggs, old bananas, coffee, bread, juice, and waffles.

Brought our granddaughters on a trip. We stopped in Price on our way to Cortez, Colorado. Luckily we found one of the few rooms available on a Friday night.

The check in was smooth and easy. The desk employee was very kind and helpful.

The room was beyond dirty. It was good we brought our own cleaning supplies. Took us about half an hour (4 of us) to make it habitable. It still needed a thorough vacuuming.

I don't mind it when hotels are dated, but they at least should be clean.
