We stayed in suite 709 , the pictures online need to be updated, it was very nice but started to get age on the unit, the room was clean , but we had no patio furniture, was told by the lady at the front desk that some owner do no provide it, what was the point to be ocean front if you had no where to sit, so we had to use our beach chairs. we had to go to the front desk because our blinds in the living room did not work and the dvd player was missing, they did come right away to fix these issues.
But everyday at 9am i would call down to have our trash and towels picked up and asked for new towels, i would let them know that we would be leaving and just the leave the towels outside our door, but everyday we would come back around 3 or later and no towels but the dirty towels and trash would be gone , so i would have to call again and someone came 1 to 2 hours later. this was my biggest problem , because they would make up stuff like are you shore they didn't leave them in your room, or they must have skip you by mistake , and the best was are you shore you called it in.
Also the first two night all you could hear at night was the cars in the parking deck and out on the street , if you stay here i would ask for a room on the 10th floor or higher , you could not hear anything up there.
There was always a very strong pot smell every time we would go to the pool or sit out on the balcony, even though they have signs up everywhere saying they will make you leave if caught smoking, this never happened.
Did like the location on the hotel , we walked almost everywhere
But i do not think i will stay here again.
Also we left some sand toys and sunblock out on the balcony in the corner and a in the bottom drawer of the dresser in the queen bedroom we left a new swimsuit for a toddler and two beach hat, so you know if they did a good job cleaning or not

There are many places to stay in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, we decided at the last minute to take a trip over Fourth of July our cruise was canceled so we decided to go the Myrtle Beach for a short trip we searched through many Hotel looking at location and price and we came across Camelot by the sea, we found this place to be so nice. It was very clean right on the beach nice clean swimming pool the rooms face the ocean with balconies very comfortable great for families. I would definitely return to this hotel as well as let my friends and family know how nice it was. And a special thanks to the young lady at the front desk or name is Terese, please forgive me if I spelled it wrong she checked us in quickly and was very warm and welcoming

Resort has 5 pools and direct access to the beach which is nice . Pools could be cleaned better as there are tons of people and only one cleaning a day for pools. They weren’t the cleanest . Elevators could use some updating . A game room for kids would have been nice walls are thin so you can hear neighbors . Bedroom is located on hallway side of unit so hear everyone passing by . Okay resort not the nicest or the worst .

We stayed here Presidents Day weekend. We were placed here by Wyndham for a timeshare presentation. Camelot definitely did not meet our expectations. The floor in our unit was so dirty, our feet and socks got dirty while walking around IN the unit. I didn't like the layout with the beds being at the door to the unit and the living room being at the balcony. We are used to staying at a higher caliber property so we were not happy at all. In addition, they are working on the balconies, so we were not able to access it...only look through the glass. The indoor pools were sufficient. Room decor wasn't bad. I do understand the units are privately owned, but housekeeping is responsible for keeping rooms cleaned and ours definitely was not. We were scheduled Fri-Mon and we left 1st thing Sun morning instead. Didn't even want to stay the entire weekend.

Oh, hotel soap is always small, but this hotel's are smaller than that. And, we had to call for more toilet paper because there was only one roll provided.

One thing I will say...the front desk was very friendly and accomodating to our needs when we called with the exception of the first night when I had to call twice for the same thing.

This hotel was a great choice. The location for activities and the beach was ideal. The staff was friendly and the few times maintenance was needed the guy who came was fantastic. View was great even though the balcony was closed for renovations it didn't stop us from enjoying the view. The room was clean, the bathroom, in my opinion rather large for a hotel bathroom, was clean and well stocked with linens and soaps. The mini kitchen had pots and plates and bowls as well as dishwashing soap. The multiple pools was a nice touch as well as free DVD rentals. Loved that there was a car garage attached to the hotel as well so you didn't have to run across the street with your belongings each day. 10/10 would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Camelot. We had a gorgeous, newly upgraded one bedroom unit (#1509). The entire place had beautiful porcelain tile throughout and the living room, kitchen and bathroom were completely renovated to look like a designer apartment. And nothing beats that direct ocean view! We could sit out there all night. Great location with lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance and only a five minute walk to the boardwalk with tons of fun options for families with young children. The only downside is that it could get a bit loud on the beach in the evening with fireworks and people hanging out on the beach at night. However, it wasn’t enough to deter us from coming back. And we will definitely be back!

Helpful tip: I know a lot of the units there are a bit worn (our friends who were also staying there were not as lucky as us to have an upgraded room) so my advice would be to ask for an upgraded unit in advance (I’d highly recommend #1509).

We have stayed at the Camelot for 8 winters(3 months each). This year our balcony has been blocked with a piece of wood. We have only had our balcony worked on for 3 days out of 6 weeks. We need to get our balcony open. I have asked several times to have this done. I have promised to not go out on the balcony, but to no avail. Management doesnt give us any help with this situation. We know of people that own a unit down the road and are having the exact same resurfacing of their balconies done and not one is blocked. Please help us to get some air and hear the waves. We are very loyal and responsible , longtime guests and would like to continue coming here in the future.

So we booked a multi family trip consisting of 2 rooms. Throughout the booking process nothing was said of construction/ remodeling of the resort or anything of the sort. We arrived to find that none of the ocean view balconies were accessible and would not be throughout our week of stay. Additionally we had numerous issue while staying...
1. While prepping to paint hallways a worker pulled the fire alarm causing the entire resort to be evacuated.
2. We had to exchange our key cards literally every time room service came by for a total of 9 exchanged cards. These were all from one room. The managers response was terrible and not helpful at all, just ridiculous.
3. There was a leak on the door wall in one room which caused a chair to become soaked during a storm as well as a very humid room.
4. While we had the do not disturb sign in the key slot for our door, a cleaner entered the room anyway... I’ve never had this happen before but was not very impressed with the situation couldn’t believe it.
5. The lights in our 12th floor room all kept going out and we found we had to “bump the light bulbs” to get them back on...

There are a lot of resorts on this strip of myrtle beach and we will definitely not be staying here again.

We apologize for the issues you had; we are already on it with the housekeeper's issue; we are addressing this immediately. We are not sure why the cards were deactivated, we will also look into this at once. We needed to fix the balconies during the off-season, it needs to be a safe environment for everyone. Again, we apologize for the issues you had, we hope you'll come back once all the problems are fixed!

There were four of us who went to Myrtle Beach for 5 days and we had read mixed reviews about Camelot. But we decided to go anyway because the holiday had been booked for a while and the location sold us on this place.

We had read lots of reviews and we asked for a specific apartment (1509). It was a little higher than we had wanted but it sounded really nice. We were not disappointed because this apartment looked brand new with new furniture and a brand new kitchen, It even had a full sized dishwasher which was really great for us because we cook a lot.

The towel situation could be improved. They ran out of pool towels all the time. But that was our only complaint. The restaurant next door was so close that it felt like we were still at Camelot.

My advice, stay here but ask for an upgraded apartment. It's not that much more expensive and really worth it. 1509 for us was a dream and it felt like we were staying in a home rather than a hotel.

Thank you so much for staying here at Camelot By The Sea Resort, the units are owned by different individual people and they do upgrades such as new carpet, new counter tops, painting when each condo is in need of certain upgrades. It is very important to our owners that their units are well maintained and well kept as to accommodate each guest and to ensure everyone is comfortable. I had a 1 bedroom oceanfront king, which has a fabulous view. I would have given a higher rating, but because of the outdated, well worn, stained, rusted and some patches of mold on furniture, drapes that clashed with furniture, gaudy light fixture and decor, I can only give it a 3. The rest of the unit was fine, laminate and tile floors looked good, kitchen and bath good, and bed reasonably comfortable. If they just replaced the furniture, drapes and that horrible light fixture, it would greatly improve the unit.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay despite the living room being an eyesore, with dodgy looking furniture. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, I was able to check in 2 hours early....maybe this unit was my punishment? :) Parking was great with attached garage, though read other reviews about it being very tight, it's all relative, I'm used to navigating very tight parking areas in Europe and I don't drive a giant truck, so I had no problems, but can see if you have a large vehicle it could be somewhat challenging, but doable...just take it slow and pay attention to the mirrors to see around blind corners for oncoming vehicles.

I posted a few photos of the living room as discussed above.
