A bit dated but very clean, comfortable and friendly accommodating host. Room was comfortable with comfortable mattress, fridge and microwave. Great shower with lots of hot water. Large room had a sofa, coffee table and a desk. AC worked well. Good communication during and after booking. Will definately stay again when in the area.

Stayed at this hotel for one night in August based on the reviews I read online with Tripadvisor. This hotel is back in the 80's including the carpet on the floor. In the room that my husband and I stayed in there was a large stain on the carpet by the fridge and also on the counter of the kitchenette. During our 16 night journey around PEI; Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in. As others have mentioned this is a place that workers stay in and not recommended for tourists.

If you need a room to just get some sleep and shower than its better than nothing. I think its meant for workers who are on a job for awhile. The people are very nice. Just not up to date. Its a couple of miles to the town of Souris to get to a restaurant or grocery store.

Due to weather, the ferry ride from Souris to Iles de la Madeleine was cancelled so plan B was to stay at the Rollo Bay Inn overnight. I read the reviews of this place first and knew it wasn't the best. At first it gave me a nice impression, it looks kind of like visiting your grandparents' home. Then slowly I discover why this place doesn't have a high rating. The room should AT LEAST have the basics. No microwave or fridge was found in the room... not even a coffee maker to make hot water! My group had been traveling a while and have some groceries with us. Normally I would improvise and put some things in a container with ice but of course ice machine wasn't working either. Staff claimed it will be fixed the next day which I think it's a lie (so much for that if someone's staying one night only). The decor is no doubt dated. Carpet was dirty in the rooms and tiles in the bathroom as well.

To my surprise, the internet provided and number of TV channels (like OWN and CNN) were excellent. However, I wish they spend this extra money on the more important and basic things for the guests. My friend found there was a dining room and a little kitchenette with coffee machine for hot water. Then he was discovered by one of the staff and then got scolded by her for walking into the dining room! I'm sorry if this inn provided the essentials for a guest, he wouldn't had to look around the inn would he? Location is poor, it's not even close to most of civilization of this town. This is my first time in PEI and I hate that my first impression of this province is so poor because of this place.

We booked a room for 1 night (July 22) at the Rollo Bay Inn (PEI). We walked into the inn and walked back out. The outside was definitely in need of maintenance. It looked like nothing had been done since the Inn was built. In checking further, I found that the review you had listed was from 2008. The Inn was probably new then and looked a lot better. Many of the room air conditioners were rusted on the outside and some had metal parts hanging down from the units. We could see these as we approached the front door. The front door had metal missing from the bottom and had been painted over with heavy paint that matched the rest of the door. The room doors had the type of "vacant" metal indicators below the door handle that you typically see for public bathroom stalls. Why were these needed. The lobby area inside was dark and looked to be very dirty. Since there was no light, it was hard to tell.
The desk clerk was asleep in the room behind the check in counter. He was bare footed, in shorts, had ear phones in and had his feet up on something. We decided not to wake him. The time was approx. 6:00 in the evening. No one else was around. This is the first time that a Trip Advisor review has led us to an unacceptable place.

It was better than sleeping somewhere filthy or outdoors. Actually a cot in a tent might have been more comfortable except for it was Oct. It was over priced. So unimpressed. We debated sleeping on the floor instead of the tiny double bed (we advised it was two adults when we booked). The pillows were flat and the bedding old and cheap. They probably paid $50 dollars for the mattress ten years ago.I could feel every spring. The first room we had the sink would not turn off. We switched rooms and the toilet ran the entire time. We eventually just turned the water off to the toilet since we were told they had no handy man that week and we had already try to fix it ourselves. They have older worn down furniture, flooring, and tvs. The place was reasonably clean. We heard every little sound from the room above us. No sound proofing in the place. Can't believe we paid $90 for this place. We almost considered driving back to Moncton and forfeiting our money.

Spent a week here while in PEI fishing - it was comfortable and worked for us. Nothing fancy - the inn keepers were very nice! Only suggestion is it could use a bit of a face lift - it's a bit dated. Otherwise - if your looking for a clean comfortable place to lay your head this does the job with a comfortable bed, wireless internet and cable tv!!

Check in was quick and and easy, the lady at the desk was friendly.the Rooms and beds are older as well as the tv's The room had no coffee maker or hair dryer, worst part was that you could not get a coffee, not even in the lobby. keep in mind that this was late january but still i would have liked to be able to have a coffee in the morning as the town itself is a car ride away. Room was old but clean. price was Ok ( you get what you pay foe) 75 bucks a night
