The best choice in Cold Lake for a reputable chain hotel.
The room was fine, however, we found there to be a strange smell and there was a stain on the fitted sheet when we pulled back the comforter. The front desk was called and management dealt with the situation immediately and professionally; we appreciated their swift attention to our comfort.
The gym and pool were well maintained and we found breakfast to be excellent. We also had no issues with parking, checking-in, or checking-out. We stayed for 5 nights and housekeeping only comes every 5th day, but we were able to request fresh towels without issue. We would have liked for the garbages to have been emptied, but we didn’t specifically ask.
Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Regarding housekeeping services, we apologize for any confusion. We have daily housekeeping and will definitely look into the reason your room was not serviced. We are always also happy to accommodate requests for additional services like emptying garbage or fresh towels outside housekeeping hours. We spent the weekend and stayed in a two queen suite. The room was large, clean and nicely decorated. Front desk staff were friendly, the pool was nice, and the gym was well-appointed. We were by the elevator and noise wasn't an issue.
The real disappointment was breakfast. Covid means that staff have to serve people and they just don't have a great system in place. If you arrive super early when it's not too busy, it's not too bad, but we arrived and there were 8-10 people in front of us and we waited a half hour in line. My advice for staff would be to just keep pushing that 2-pancake button, regardless if someone has ordered them. They didn't have cinnamon rolls and the omelettes were dry. I hope they can improve their system, because it was a similar experience both mornings. Also, tables were not cleaned/sanitized in between groups sitting. And while there are signs saying for guests to wear masks in common areas, not all did, certainly much less than half.
Outside of the accommodations for covid, this hotel was a nice stay. It was close to restaurants to walk to and just a 10 minute drive from the beach and museum.

The moment we drove up to the hotel, we could tell that the property was well maintained. Upon entering the hotel we were more impressed. Common areas were very clean and very well maintained.
I wish I would have gotten the name of the person who registered us when we checked in during the afternoon of March 28. She was friendly, efficient and professional. We were treated like valued and important customers. I would like to thank her for her excellent customer service.
Our room was very clean, very comfortable and well appointed. Beds were comfortable, the heating/cooling system was quiet and worked well. Over the years our family has travelled a fair amount, and this room was excellent - and excellent value for our dollar.
The pool area was larger than we expected and was again, very clean and well maintained.
It is important to note that all staff we encountered in the hotel were incredibly polite, professional and personable. Cleaning staff we encountered were so nice and made us feel welcome at comfortable.
Hat’s off to the gentleman who told me he assisted the person who ran the breakfast. The breakfast area was always spotless and well stocked, no matter how busy it was. He is a very polite person.
Our thanks to the person in charge of breakfast and for running such a clean, high quality meal. We have eaten at many hotels, and this experience was exceptional.

I've had 40 hotels across the country this year and this hotel had the most friendly staff and the best breakfast bacon by far! Comfortable room, bed and sheets as well. Even good coffee. The other thing I appreciated was it's close proximity to restaurants like Original Joe's, but also "off the main strip" for a safer parking lot. I happened to have a lot of shopping and even a piece of brand new furniture in the truck box that wouldn't fit in the cab and nothing went missing. In Cold Lake, my new go to is Holiday Inn.

Our experience with Holiday Inn Express, Cold Lake, was absolutely amazing. I knew when booking on the phone with Christin, that we were in for a great stay. Very pleasant and accommodating. Rooms are spotless, bathrooms are great and the beds are so comfy! Breakfast was wonderful as well. Can't say enough good things about our time here and this will always be our hotel of choice as long as we come to Cold Lake! Thanks Christin for making our stay perfect! We appreciate it.

I was working in Cold Lake for the weekend and had been booked here. I stay in a lot of Holiday Inns so I figured it would be decent but I was really suprised by how nice it was. The staff were very friendly, the room was great. I didn't use the pool but the gym was 24h and one of the best equipped I've been in for a hotel gym with cardio and weight equipment. Breakfast was served starting at 5 which is earlier than other places and appreciated! Walking distance to a few restaurants and pubs. It was a great stay!

Was pleasantly surprised for the price this place is very nice. Rooms are big with kitchenette. Gym was one of the better ones I’ve ever seen in a hotel. Pool was good. Free breakfast was also very good. Clean facility and staff was friendly. Little noisy a couple nights in the hallway but otherwise great.

Room was well set up with handy fridge, coffee and micro, comfy queen bed good bathroom with decent counterpace and lots of towels.
The breakfast area was nice with plenty of choices although they did seem to be having issues with the pancake maker which was a bit disappointing.
The staff at front desk were friendly and helpful especially when more of our family needed a last minute reservation due to change of plans.
Plenty of parking for our truck and trailer.

Up here for 10 days for business. Nice clean room..very new. Asked the staff for all regular coffee and everyday they left me 4 pods and no decaf. Breakfast was ok, after 10 days a little boring. But hard to beat the price. Good staff especially the one from Brazil.

We were in Cold Lake for a family reunion, so really just needed a place to sleep. But it turned into a nice "vacation". This is the newest hotel in Cold Lake, so that is how we chose it. Everything was new, modern and clean! The rooms were spacious and bright and we had great sleeps. The express breakfast was included in all the rooms, and it was more deluxe that I had anticipated, they had hot items like pre made omelettes, pancakes, and sausages. The pool was simple, but my three year old daughter had a blast and was the only one with my husbad both mornings. Definitely recommend it, the rates were like $20 more a night than other places, but well worth it.
