We recently spent a week in two bedroom cabin there. We had booked it back in January22’, so we got it for the price quoted by the old owners. $300 plus tax per night, plus tax (golf included in that price). We did have our dog with us, so we did have pay an extra $20 a night for her. We were quoted $15. But I wasn’t going to squabble over $5.

The cabin itself was very clean and air conditioning was wonderful. The cabin had everything we needed. It was, however, quite old and dated, Pine everywhere (walls, cabinets, trim. Deck could use a good pressure wash, as it felt dirty being that it was treated lumber that has been there a longtime with nothing being done to it. Cabin could use a wash on the outside as well (including windows). Cabin was comfortable, just could use some updating.

Other cabins are quite close to yours, so not a lot of privacy outside. I kinda had that feeling of being at a campground with a lot of seasonal campers, who think they run the place.

We only had two crappy plastic patio chairs on our deck, but noticed that some of the other cabins had these Adirondack chairs, some had five or six of them. We asked at the front desk and they said they didn’t have anymore. I appropriated a couple early the next morning from one of the other cabins. I did see a couple taking one of the lounge chairs for their cabin from the pool one day.

Pool was nice, and we did make use of the grass tennis courts

We played five rounds at the golf course. The course isn’t one of the well known ones in the province, but was presently surprised with the condition and enjoyed the layout.

A lot of crooked things at the resort as well. Lots of crooked floors and windows.

Will we go back? Nope. The new owners have now doubled the prices. The cabin we stayed in is now $600 a night, and no golf is included. Golf will be discounted, but you will still have to pay extra for it. Better deals, at newer properties and nicer course on PEI.

The regulars, who we talked to, are pissed and many of them won’t be going back.

It was a charming little place, and was reasonably priced. The new owners are charging too much money, for something that is not worth it when compared to a lot of other places on the Island.

We really lucked out with this location. We had checked into a place not far away and felt like it was stuck in the late 80's. We sorta stumbled upon this place and asked if they had any cabins, it just so happened they did ( probably a cancellation ) and it turned out to be the best part of our trip to PEI. Great accommodations and great staff.

We have been going to Rustico Resort every summer for more than 35 years! We love the beautiful grounds, gardens, sunsets and golf course. The cottages along the bay have excellent views of the water and fire pits for family campfires each evening. We have booked many years with extended family and friends and always wish we had stayed longer when it is time to leave. Martha and John Langdale are so welcoming and accommodating , they make us feel that Rustico Resort is our home away from home. The Pro Shop staff, cleaning staff and grounds crew are all friendly and efficient.Being able to golf every day without even getting in your car is a big plus.for all the golfers in our family. Would highly recommend anyone to check out Rustico Resort, you will be glad that you did! Thanks again for another great stay.

At one time, not too long ago, this was a very nice family oriented property in a very beautiful and hospitable province. However, as regards the property, that is no longer the case.

We were a group of 11 people who occupied 3 cabins for a 2 day stay - our 2nd annual family outing at this resort. While the cabins and the facilities were quite rustic, they were clean and the service offered by the previous owners and staff made for an enjoyable experience. That is why we returned this past August.

The property was purchased sometime during the past 6 months by someone named Dave Saunders. I don't know who he is but, given what I heard from other guests and based on our our own experience, I do know he clearly doesn't have much understanding about the hospitality industry. My qualifications for making this statement comes from having personally spent 45+ years in that industry as a senior manager with industry leading companies such as Marriott and Compass Group.

We had to battle him to honour the reservations and rates we had been quoted by the previous owners. At all times we felt we could be kicked off the property if we came forward with an issue. As we had to pay for our rooms on arrival I can only imagine what difficulty we would have getting a refund if we decided to leave early or got kicked off the property.

In fairness, I will say that the food offered in the restaurant has improved considerably. Also, the golf course was in good condition.

It is a terrible shame to see this family oriented resort suffer such a negative change with respect to guest services.

We definitely will not return. Having said that, I can't imagine Dave Saunders really cares.........at the moment.

We have stayed for three years. Cabins run down but minimally clean and minimal features needed. Now we find out that the price per cabin for the same stay will be doubling. I cant imagine who would want to pay those prices for a non existant level of service and quality. Our cabin neighbours had mice and ants, our dishwasher broke, the "rebuilt" deck barely felt secure enough to walk on. This place has a lot of issues. When it was affiordable - you could look past, but at nearly 6000 for a weeks stay, its ridiculous bordering on highway robbery. I'm not sure why they wanted to set fire to all the goodwill this location had - but they clearly have as all the prior guests Ive spoken to are all livid and will not be returning. At the current prices I would avoid this location like a bowl of bad mussels.

This review is not for the resort itself as we didn’t stay there. The golf course was a big disappointment.
When we checked in I asked about the premium Taylormade clubs and was told they didn’t have any. The way it was said was more of a statement that they haven’t had any for awhile, yet it was on the website. When I looked at the bag, the clubs were filthy and I found that it only had 9 clubs including the putter. D, 4H, 5H, 6, 7, 8, 9, PW and putter. I asked about a SW and was told that the clubs that were in the bag we’re what we got. My wife also only had 9 clubs. Different variety but still only 9 clubs. We still paid full price for the rental. $277 for two including green fees, rentals, power cart and a lrg & sm bucket of balls. For an additional $50 each, we could have played Crowbush or New Glasgow.
The course was in decent shape for a course of this caliber, but it was hard to enjoy a round when you don’t have the tools in the bag.

New owner should not be allowed to be working in the service and hospitality industry. A total and complete embarrassment. Read through the new terms and conditions prior to booking anything. 400$ per night for a geodome this weekend but if you’re planning on staying in August, it’ll cost you 650$ per night. Straight up gouging. Good luck with your scam Dave, you’ll never see the 14 of us again.

8 of us from N.S have been going to same resort for last 15 years. We made our reservations for following year before we left. Two months ago it was sold which I did not know about. . I had confirmed reservation with $200 deposit on May 6th for 4 day stay on July11th to 14th.for a certain price .Two days before we leave an email was given to me with new prices from some manager named David Saunders asking for $120 per person increase. Figured we talk about it upon Arrival. After we arrived the manager David Saunders was rude and ignorant saying if we don't want to pay $120 more per person there is the door. I said we should have had more than 2 days notice. We talked about it and decided to pay new price. Six of us had paid and carts were loaded up with clubs and a friend came out and said he was kicked off course. my friend commented to manager that he should have had more than 2 days notice and that sent manager into a rage. He than said 7 of you can play but not Him! NO GOLF FOR YOU !So we all had to refund our money. We decided to go golf at Green Gables than drove home. New Manager was acting like a child throwing a tantrum.
Made me wonder how many other reservations he screwed over. If it was bought 2 months ago ,how come only 2 days notice. Amazing how a child can ruin a vacation for 8 people and did nothing for tourism forPEI which had been fantastic up until now.

A group of 8 friends had been going here for past 10 years. Everything was great and had enjoyed past years but this year was different. Showed up this year to find out place was sold and under new management. So we arrived on Tuesday to find out new owner Dave Saunders had increased the price by 180 dollars per person. They would not let us check in unless we paid in full and people were very rude and not very friendly ( please bring Martha back). We had a down payment made 2 months and had a set price already negotiated and owner got upset at one friend because he didn’t agree we should pay more. Anyway Dave the owner kicked him off property but said 7 of us could pay and stay lol. Ended up leaving and golfing in cavendish for day. Will never go back to North Rustico Resort again !!!!

Rustico is a hidden gem!!!

Maricar and her team provided the most welcoming atmosphere you could want on a vacation and the food was excellent as well as the accommodations. Golf course was in good shape and the price was very reasonable.

We look forward to staying at Rustico again next year.
