Came down for a weekend hockey tournament and stayed with the team. I found our room and the hotel to be very clean for what we paid. Breakfast bar was standard and there were 'hot' offerings of eggs and sausages as well as 2 waffle irons, one of which functioned better than the other. Beds were soft but I wouldn't say they were old and even though we were on the main floor we didn't have issues with noise from adjacent rooms.

All in all we had great time in GF and this hotel was played a good part in a fun weekend for all.

Driving a 20' U-Haul I had to make sure I could find a hotel where I'd feel comfortable parking the beast. This did the trick and it was a real good place to spend the night. Room was clean, quiet and provided a great night's sleep.

The gentleman that was always working at the front desk was great. He greeted us everytime he saw us. He asked if we needed anything extra. The gals that worked the breakfast were cheerful and always filling the dishes. We had clean rooms.

I booked this hotel as part of a wedding block. I called the hotel and asked them what the largest room they had. The gentlemen I worked with booked me in a King Suite Room for the 2 nights. When we arrived, the guy at the front desk was very rude. Didn’t tell me any of the details about the hotel accommodations/offerings. Gave me my room keys and retreated to his office. The room that he gave me was a standard double room. I went back to the front desk and showed him my confirmation and that I had booked and paid for a king suite. He told me that he was completely booked for the night and there wasnt anything he could do. When i asked him if he could adjust my rate since I had paid for a much bigger room to accommodate our large family he gave me some excuse that the rate I got is as good as it gets. I then asked if I could get extra blankets and pillows as we would have to make a bed on the floor for one of my kids. He told me he would bring them to our room. He never did. We had to go back down again and ask for them I which he made it seem like we asked him to move mountains for us.

Overall, it was pretty disappointing the service we received. There were no apologies given and he made us feel like it was our problem that their staff made a mistake.

Avoid this hotel. I was cautiously optimistic about staying here due to the reviews but we had a poor experience. The man at the desk when I checked in was not friendly or welcoming, just handed me my keys and barely said a word. The bed was horrendous, I’m sure the mattress was 30 years old, it was so uncomfortable with zero support that neither of us slept and woke up with sore backs. The breakfast was disgusting, there’s no other way to describe it. The “eggs” were not real or fresh, had a thick, rubbery texture and covered in plastic cheese. The waffle maker wasn’t working for every guest who tried it despite drenching it with the oil/“conditioner” that was provided so every waffle was stuck to the grill and came out in shreds - I ended up just having toast. There’s no sound proofing so expect to hear everyone in the hallway and upstairs. The room was very small and very worn - stains on the ceiling, peeling paint, very old windows, peeling wallpaper and caulking in the bathroom. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few bucks to stay at a better hotel.

The receptionist was kind and helped well.

In the room, all pillows were on only one bed.

There was an empty paper box of beers. One can of beer was left open with dirty thing inside.

Two towels were on the bathroom floor not sure they were used or not.

One towel was on the floor of the room not sure they were used or not.

Pool water was not warm enough.

The Amerivu Motel in Grand Forks ND is a fine place to stay. It’s clean. The beds, linen, and towels are all comfortable. It’s quiet and not far from restaurants, shopping, and gasoline. The front desk staff were pleasant and efficient. Breakfast choices are sufficient with hot waffles available.

But what stands out most is the value. There are many places to stay in Grand Forks, and the Amerivu isn’t the Ritz. But I think you’ll get the best experience for your dollar here.

We were pleasantly surprised and pleased, and would return here again.

I arrived early and Sahar at the front desk called a maid to allow me to check in early and relax before my meetings. Clean, quiet, maintained well and a good breakfast and coffee. Good location, too.
