Our room was spacious and we had a fantastic view. However, when we first got to our room we called down to the front desk and requested more blankets. Housekeeping came up with more towels. We couldn't communicate because she spoke Russian and we did not.
Breakfast the next day was impressive. Get your walking shoes because the dinning area is quite large. They had a great variety of salads oh and lots of fresh mint if you like it for your tea.
To get to the Dead Sea you have to go out the front and walk around - there is no direct access. After being in the water we hoped that the kids could jump in the pool and they were cleaning it (we stayed in December). There is an indoor pool but it's only for adults.
Our stay was positive and the view was amazing. The bathrooms are large and there was a tub in ours plus the shower was wonderful. Enjoy your stay!

Upon our arrival at the hotel, the registration process and the rooms reception was incredibly organized and fast.
The rooms we obtained were great, very spacious, the bed was wide, wonderfully comfortable and the mattresses were excellent. The room was clean, bright and excellently maintained.
From our rooms balcony you could see the Dead Sea on one side and the mountains on the other, great views. For those who get up early, in mornings with light clouds, there is a big chance of winning the sights of the most spectacular sunrise.
Breakfast was extremely excellent.
Greatest supply of dishes, plenty of vegetables and salads, omelets of all kinds, a wide variety of cheeses, a large selection of hot / cold drinks of all kinds and deserts.
For me as a diabetic, I was incredibly happy to find sugar-free drinks and desserts.
The dinner, which was a meat meal was (in one word) STUNNING !!!
In summary, a great hotel and highly recommended.
We were placed in the "wings" of the hotel, floors 1 and 2 which is a very bad location because it's next to a major ballroom that had a party/festival the night we stayed. The party lasted until 1:30am and the rooms aren't sound proof. No one in those floors could sleep that night because the rooms weren't sound proof.
Additionally, the rooms were of poor quality. Thin base sheet on the mattress (you can see the mattress pattern underneath). Missing robes in the room for going to the beach. Dirt and dust at all the base boards. The shower stall leaked water into the main bath room floor. The AC unit wasn't working properly. The sliding door to the patio didn't lock (security concern) and the front door wasn't secure either. The spa was out of robes during the last half of the day and we had to walk to the beaches with thin towels wrapped around our wives.
We raised these concerns to the hotel mgmt through our tour guide and directly ourselves. The employees at the front desk and the manager showed little concern for this situation and didn't do anything to correct the situation (no change in room, no change in room comp, no apologies, etc...)
Attitudes among most of the hotel staff was poor and dismissive and did not exude customer service.
The main thing going for this hotel is it's location. We were told the rooms in the higher floors (not in the wings) were of better quality. The food in the buffets was okay.
Regardless, I would avoid this hotel if possible until the quality of the rooms and customer service improves.
The front desk barely speaks English, is ill informed about most anything in the hotel and hands out keys. The room was FILTHY AND DISGUSTING, as in making you want to shower twice after leaving to get rid of that feeling. Bed sheets torn and dirty, 1 towel per person, AC that you can set to anything but won’t cool the room below 24 C, broken and stained balcony chairs and not so much as a bottle of water. The front door frame seemed ready to fall off the wall. Then the toilet broke (not ideal when one of us likely got sick from the buffet) and the hotel phone stopped working so it was impossible to call for help other than go down to the lobby. In all fairness, the staff was very responsive with regard to fixing the toilet and bringing towels. AC…no chance. Then let’s not forget the fire alarm in the middle of the night. With no phone, you couldn’t call to confirm if it was a real emergency. We trusted that since we were in Israel, if there were a real emergency we would have known it clearly…hopefully that was a good bet.
The buffet had tons of food but I guess we are all now (via Covid) conditioned to certain levels of food safety and sanitation. All for good reason. Not at the David. Hundreds of people and kids touching, handling, breathing, coughing and in some cases sneezing directly on the food. Disgusting.
This may have been a nice place in the 80’s, which sadly might have been the last time management out any money into The David. One Star is because the staff seemed responsive to some room issues (the dining room staff seemed bored and as if they really wished the guests would just go home) and the location. However a tent with a boxed lunch on the beach would offer the same or better location benefit. I don’t know if all of the hotels in this area are the same, but I’d never suggest anyone stay at The David. If the others are similar, then I’d vote for a drive by, take a dip/float and move on.
The major problem was the guest rom. My guest room was spartan and very plainly decorated, not very attractive or comfortable looking. There was a chair that converted to a bed... it was broken in that there was a big gap between the chair seat and the chair back. I tried to push the chair back together but could not get it to budge. I had to call the front desk to send someone to put it back together.
I was on the first floor and had a lanai that was off the main rear garden of the hotel. The problem was the rear door to the room that accesses the lanai would not lock. It took about an hour and a half for the hotel to replace the lock so that my room was secure.
The room had a tea pot that heated water for tea or instant coffee. When I arrived, the teapot was not clean, but had water in it. It took 2 calls to the front desk to get a clean teapot.
Waiting for these items to be fixed or cleaned delayed me from meeting my group floating in the Dead Sea.
My experience was the location, food and public areas exceeded my expectation, but the guest room definitely failed. Based solely on my guest room experience, I would not recommend this hotel not stay in it again.

Everything is dirty beginning from the SPA and public toilets and continuing with the room , bathroom and even the glasses inside. A lot of things are broken like the pool curtain , floor ceramics and Spa columns . There are no enough towels and your permitted to get only one but even this is not always possible. If you are a big person it will be a problem to get a bathrobe for you. Maximum size is XL and it’s like a regular S/M.
The open part of the kitchen looks terrible - dark and dirty. Half of the buffet counters are empty and the people have to wait in tour for the open ones. There are few waiters, not enough cutlery and maps, dirty water bottles on the tables.
The meals were tasty.
It wasn’t a good value for money and really disappointing experience.
The lobby was welcoming with refreshments so the arriving guests would get busy enjoying themselves.
The checkin was functional and welcoming. It was very pleasant to receive our room according to our requests.
The staff was very pleasant and caring.
The room was big with balcony, with a view to the sea and pool from one side and desert mountain at the other.
The main dining area was fool but again there was no tension. There was a wide variety of options spread neatly.
Most of all we enjoyed the Spa pools which actually instead of going to the beach, we enjoyed the water of the sea in the pool. The pool inside was worm sea water and the one outside sea water not heated.
We enjoyed our staying very much and recommend this hotel.
(2) The quality of the wifi is bad
(3) The design of some of the dining room tables & chairs is bad, we couldn't come close enough to our plates on the table.
(4) The lock on our room door was stuck.
(5) The cleaning of the room was superficial so we had to complain repeatedly until the room was cleaned properly.
