So happy . I have not gained one pound back and it’s now April and I went before thanksgiving . I made it thru the holidays without gaining a pound . I myself think it’s worth it for me and I wantasend my daughter

The grounds are beautiful, the food incredible and the program challenging. It is In the middle of nowhere so pack well. Guests and staff are friendly. I call it a health spa...which is a much more apt description than biggest loser. The rooms are comfortable and clean but not fancy. The focus for the program is on your good health...whether you need to lose weight or not.

I have been going to the biggest loser resort resort every year since 2015. During long, cold winters, I get into bad habits, lose motivation and need a reset. I find biggest loser staff very educational, motivational and inspirational with very knowledgeable instructors. They push you to do so much more than you would achieve on your own and give you the tools you need to suceed on your healthy journey. I now feel confident and ready to enjoy summer in shorts and bathing suits. Thank you biggest loser staff!

Been to many facilities and this one previously x 2. Found that the focus is not on the Biggest Loser program but other programs on campus. Rooms and facilities desparately need updating and basic TLC. The staff have a very hands off approach which is new. If you need guidance and 1:1 I would not recommend this. Very loose schedule and attendance is not helpful for building momentum. Beautiful location

I stay 4 weeks, The place is amazing, the hikes are lovely, the trainers are friendly & professional, the food is nice but not really well planed, and not always tasting good.
Don't expect to lose much, and expect every time to hear u r doing fine :S
Make sure you get the right offer & the right amount of money that u r suppose to pay bec. They will try to get money out of ur account in different ways, I was paying like the website said $2100 for 4 weeks, I paid all upfront & then on my way to one of the Target trips I found that everyone is paying half the rate I paid on an offer that I didn't know about, they gave me the offer & my money back in resort credit ($2000 in resort credit) I was going to the Utah camp which BTW is wayyyyyy much better so I told them to credit to the Utah camp, then after I left by more than two weeks & after signing for my bill & everything I suddenly found they charged me $220 worth of Phone calls!!!!!!! They didn't say anything about phone charges, they didn't send me phone charges on the bill they sent me by the end of every week & the phone in the room said $.75 for each outgoing call which means I made 300 calls which is impossible, and anyways what a very unprofessional place charges guests after leaving facility by two weeks, they don't want to give me my money back.
As a conclusion I recommend u go to another location bec this location has outsiders coming everyday for conferences, lunches, dinners, parties so its not only for the biggest loser & it's guests you don't have privacy, ur food gets delayed so they can serve others, the stuff members & the waiters are grumpy bec they have a lot of things to do and small stuff working..
I'm so disappointed in their attitude with a guest that pays that much..

As a 61 year old woman with a strong desire to re-boot my lifestyle and exercise program, I signed up for Biggest Loser Resort Niagara with a certain amount of trepidation. Would I be able to handle exercising 5 hours daily? What if the trainers were screamers? No coffee? No wine? Could I do it???
The long and short of it is that, although it IS hard, I did it for a week and then came back for another week. And I have nothing but good things to write about the experience. First, the accommodations are excellent. (Disregard the "Dirty Dancing" crack from a reviewer who didn't even stay a day.) The resort is in a beautiful wooded and very slightly hilly location. There are hotel-type rooms and there are private villas. The rooms are immaculate, recently renovated with beautifully tiled walk-in showers. The beds are extremely comfortable with pillow-top mattresses. Heating levels were self-controlled. The cleaning staff did an excellent job.
The gym, equipment and brand-new indoor pool were immaculate and well-maintained. There was no shortage of equipment or space for the 15- 20 of us.
The food was very, very good. Chef Mark does a first-rate job of offering 3 substantial meals plus 2 snacks daily on a 1500 - 1700 calorie budget. The food was filling and delicious. I was never hungry.
The trainers were supportive, respectful, kind and alert. They have a wonderful esprit de corps, and were able to gently push each of us to achievements most of us never considered possible.
The nutritionists gave excellent seminars on food, eating habits, pitfalls, etc. Even I, a physician and general know-it-all, learned a few things!! (LOL)
Although I did not avail myself of the spa-treatments, my fellow guests were very pleased with their massages, etc. My bill was properly accounted - there were no hidden charges or erroneous charges.
And, at the end, I had lost a couple of lbs, put on some muscle and lost some body fat. Nothing huge happens overnight, but I am now on my way to make some progress.

Would I do this again? Absolutely. I would highly recommend this fitness resort to anyone who is seriously looking for a place to workout, start losing weight, and start changing bad eating habits. If, on the other hand, you are looking for the pampered, spa-lady experience - maybe not.

The staff seemed very good over the phone. I prepaid for airport pick up, but so did another women I met at airport. Her pick up was two hours earlier, but was a no show - we drove together out to BL. This was listed as a New property - it was new in the 1970's. When I entered the lobby/lodge, I thought I was on the set Dirty Dancing in the Catskills. The set up for registering for the program seemed very unprofessional. A table cloth over a table saying biggest loser. You meet with the nurse who seemed bored and tells you she's not actually there during week. The nutritionist reads menu. Your weighed and measured in full street clothes after a long day of travel. Other places I have been to do the weighing and measuring in your work out clothes before the first breakfast, so the weight is more accurate. They didn't even spell my name correctly on my ID. I was pointed to where my villa was. Up hill with 50 lbs of luggage. Maintenance came by and saw me and gave ride. I went to my" villa", which was explained to me had been girl scout cabins, converted. If you read other reviews you will see all they can say about rooms is clean - clean is correct, but so dated. The kitchen is gutted no appliances just the spaces, not even the fridge they sat would be there. A hole in cabinet to use as handle, I think. Closet doors hard to open. Room clean but dreary, cheap décor on walls. Was not happy took next shuttle back to airport and flew home. It's a lot of money to spend not to get top notch accommodations, even if your not spending lots of time in room/villa. Next time I will just go to Hilton Head.

I went to Biggest Loser Resort Niagara in 2014. I broke my arm and hurt my back playing "beach volleyball" on a concrete tennis court. Yes, concrete tennis court in full view of the "beach". I left after being there less than 18 hours with a cast on my arm and medicated. I asked the owner to honor my reservation and allow me to come back when healed. Well, after many weeks of back and forth from the owner and her daughter they said I could make a reservation and I did so. I made the reservation according to what the mother and daughter told me. Then, I received a last minute e-mail saying NO GO; they want A LOT MORE MONEY and denied everything they told me directly. Mother and daughter saying two different things and not keeping their stories straight with me. Who to believe? My advice is stay away. Management does not honor their agreements. Horrible management and nasty customer service.

Response from BLRNiagara, Manager at Biggest Loser Resort Niagara
Responded Jan 23, 2015
It is unfortunate that your return visit to Biggest Loser Resort Niagara ended prematurely due to a fall. We were so glad you decided to return in May 2014 after spending a week with us in May of 2013, and we do hope to welcome you back again. Our staff responded to your injury by quickly escorting you to the nearest hospital via our resort van. We were disappointed you chose to leave, but were encouraged when you felt well enough to drive yourself home for the long commute. To clarify, you arrived at our property on Sunday and departed on Tuesday. Our resort follows the Brand policies for early departures. The policy is to extend a resort credit to guests who are unable to attend their reserved week or who have to depart early due to an unexpected event, whether it is illness, a family emergency, etc... You still have 80% of your original purchase price available as a credit, which you can use with any current offer our resort has advertised. Our staff and management team strive to provide good customer service and an enjoyable guest experience. We do hope you take advantage of your existing credit and return for an amazing, transforming week.

Pros: (1) Great property - beautiful during the Summer/Fall with a big lake and lots of activities available (2) Great customer service from the resort staff (especially maintenance and front desk). They were always kind and several went above and beyond during my stay (3) Good food - for the most part it is delicious and filling! (4) Wonderful seminars from the trainers and dieticians. This is a highlight of the program (5) The opportunity for life altering experiences and forming deep friendships

Cons: (1) There is no medical professional on staff: To me this is a major concern. Individuals who have significant weight and/or health issues, many of whom have not exercised in years, are involved in a fairly intense one-week (or more) overhaul of their lifestyle, including diet and exercise. The clientele is therefore more prone to injury. The resort is fairly remote (35min to nearest urgent clinic) and I think this is a big liability and significant missing element to this program. During one day of my stay 3 people were injured, at least one of which drove an hour to a clinic to receive medical services. I would hope they would look to employ a nurse, nurse practitioner, physical therapist, doctor, or someone whether in a full time capacity or on call to be available to support participants. This point alone is enough to keep me from returning and to look for a substitute instead.
(2) Quality of the Fitness Sessions: I want to be clear - the trainers (2 out of 3) are wonderful in the classroom setting. They have deep, personal connections to the work they do and their stories are impactful, their compassion and care is real, and their motivation in that setting comes through. In the gym this same passion and energy is not present. Trainers seemed to be going through the motions, many of the movements throughout the week were repetitive in nature which is great for re-enforcing understanding but lessens the exposure to other forms of exercise and the diversity of activities. They seem uninterested and dis-engaged in these sessions and that's communicated through their actions (on their phones), their words (monotone), and their lack of energy. I also was disappointed in their attention to others. There were several individuals exhibiting poor form which can be dangerous and the trainers were not diligent about correcting them which presented a safety concern for me.
(3) Dual Use Space - The Beaver Hollow Conference Center where this program is hosted also hosts private and corporate events. People involved in those events are not completing the same program and have less restrictive dietary constraints and less full schedules. Each time I have visited a raucous group has been present. The first time a wedding was happening on property and this meant cake (tough for those on program where we don't have access to sweets and are attempting to kick poor food habits) and lots of alcohol. It also meant loud partying until the early hours. On my most recent trip another group kept several of us up until past 2am and we have a 6am class and 7am breakfast every morning. When people reported the concern BL staff was not sympathetic or responsive to the issue. I think it's very difficult to run this program simultaneously with others and it would be ideal if the property did not co-book.

Response from BLRNiagara, President at Biggest Loser Resort Niagara
Responded May 24, 2017
Kara, Thank you for your comments and for choosing our resort and program to assist you on your journey to a healthier lifestyle. We also appreciate your kind words about our staff, the facilities, the workshops and our food. I would like to address your constructive feedback as well. 1. We are not a medical facility and therefore do not employ medical personnel. Our program is a non-clinical immersive guided weight loss program that is delivered by certified trainers, registered dieticians, and certified life coaches. We deliver the tools to achieve a healthier lifestyle and provide a safe and supported environment in which to do so. We keep very good records of any incidents that occur on our property and I am not familiar with the incidents you are referring to over your stay. That being said, in the event of an injury, we happen to have an in-house fleet of medical transportation vehicles and can transport our guests to a medical facility within 35 minutes. 2. Our trainers and fitness program are an integral part of our program and it is critical that it is delivered in a way that is informative and engaging. Our team is very dedicated to both safety and to delivering the highest quality program they can. We rotate our workouts on a regular basis and have a “WOD” (workout of the day) so every day there is something new and different. Proper form and ability appropriate modifications are also a part of every workout and are reviewed at the beginning of every workout. 3. Dual use of space- Our property does host corporate retreats and events along with our Biggest Loser program. We have separate and private dining, meeting and recreation areas. We even keep our non-Biggest Loser guests in separate guest room buildings. We take our guests experience very seriously and I have shared your concerns with our team and I can assure you that if any concern is raised to our team they will be both sympathetic and responsive. I want to thank you again for being a repeat guest of our resort and for sharing your feedback with us. Sincerely, Kathy Snyder Egan President

The Biggest Loser program is wonderful and I would give it and its trainers a 10! The lodging at the Niagara Resort was disgusting! So, if you plan to go to a Biggest Loser Camp go to the one in Chicago or Amelia Island. Let me explain.... rust and mold on the front door, peeling paint in shower, drawers that opened and fell on you, no curtains, no pictures, door knob that was falling off, bathroom cabinet falling apart, and the best part was NO HOT WATER FOR SIX DAYS! I went to the President of the resort and she said she would make it right. She gave me a $100 credit when I paid over $3,000. This is unacceptable. The spa technicians are great, but the location of the spa is in a basement and they set up a massage table in a waiting room and tried to give me my massage in that room with the gift shop next door. Really? I have stayed in hundreds of hotels, but this place is not helping the brand of the resort and The Biggest Loser should find another location or charge a heck of a lot less for this "rustic" place.
