Aloft Secaucus Meadowlands is an exciting hotel located in the Mill Creek Mall Plaza Center, just across the river from Midtown Manhattan. It features sleek, urban-inspired rooms with free Wi-Fi, as well as an indoor pool and a 24-hour gourmet deli.

Do yourself a favor and book one of the other Harmon Meadow hotels. You know... the ones that have doors on the bathrooms and don't play extremely loud music at midnight in the lobby that you can hear the bass from in your 5th-floor room.
It was clean enough, the location was nice with easy bus access to NYC. The staff were nice. But that's all I can say that is positive.
The layout of the room is beyond bizarre. It isn't bad enough that they don't have a door on the part of the bathroom with a shower. They also strategically place a large immovable mirror so you can see it from the rest of the room.
They also rented out the lobby for a graduation bar and the music was so loud we could hear it while in our room on the 5th floor. Late at night. I saw comments about this in other reviews and thought it can't be that bad. It is that bad.
All that to say just book somewhere else.

The hotel was solidly decent. I wish someone would have warned us about the room configuration in a 2 queen room. The shower and bathroom are in one big open space when you 1st walk in. There is a Demi wall separating them from the beds area with a huge mirror stationed between the two rooms. I literally had to make my sons hide when I showered or wanted to change. If they just hung out in the bedroom side they could still see me naked based on the position of the Mirror. There is no door to this open bathroom. Only one to the actual toilet. The room felt very small for a hotel out of nyc but was cute and clean.

This is definitely a new brand of hotel that is looking for a young crowd. Rooms are arranged in a bizarre fashion that actually lessens the floor space instead of increasing it. There is a partial wall in the middle of the floor to separate the bath area from the sleeping/sitting area. Because of this everything is crammed by the bed. As other reviewers have mentioned, they have a galley style bathroom with the sink and mirror on one side, shower on the other and toilet at the end. Toilet has a pocket door for privacy. The bigger issue is the fact that the shower has glass doors (unfrosted) so you are basically showering in the open. Add to that they have position a HUGE mirror on the other end of the "galley" which provides a shower show for anyone in the bedroom area! Since I was traveling with my husband this was a non-issue, but there is no way a family could be comfortable here for this reason alone. There is no explantation why the did not frost the glass for privacy and keep the same "modern/hip" layout. That said the room was clean and the hotel was in walking distance to a Buffalo Wild Wings (about 50 steps across the parking lot) which was great for dinner. Would recommend this for anyone not worried about privacy or someone traveling alone.

Stayed here as part of a bus trip. Breakfast was extremely cold both days we were there. Noisy rooms. As mentioned before the shower doors are clear glass and you can see the shower clearly from bedroom area. Breakfast was worse than a cheap days inn. Wouldn’t recommend this place for the money. Definitely cheapens the Marriott name.

This hotel has been updated, has a modern design and trendy feel. There is a bar area and pool table. Recently stayed for 5 nights. There was no cleaning service due to Covid which is a ridiculous policy for a Marriott property. Also the POS system went down one evening and they wouldn’t even make bottled water available for guests, so there was literally no drinking water for my kids. The bar here is popular and Friday night they had a DJ which was very very loud, drunk people hollering at 2 am out in the parking lot. Absolutely ridiculous. I saw people with small kinds in PJS trying to check in while there is literally a club going off 20 feet away. The walls are paper thin, I heard every knock, door open and shut all hours of the day and night. If you are a Marriott Loyalist traveling with your family or on business I would reconsider and stay at the Marriott Courtyard across the street. I will say the woman who makes breakfast was super sweet and left nice written messages on our to go containers- bless you ❤️

We thought this was a great hotel and if we ever in the area we will stay here again but the start was ehhh. The front desk employee was not the most welcoming but other than her the rest of the staff was very friendly, espeically the bartender Simone, she was awesome! The walls are very very thin in the room. The first night we got woken up at 4:15AM by a couple screaming at each other and the girl even threw his stuff into the hallway.. this lasted for about 30 mins or so.. then the next night we would wake up becasue elevator ding / and people just walking in the hallways.. They have a few different kinds of breakfast bowls and the classic was pretty good and only 7 dollars! Overall we had a good stay!

I love Aloft hotels for the modern decor and friendly pricing. I've stayed at a number of them, with this being my first stay at the Aloft Secaucus. For this trip, I traveled with my husband and another couple. The couple we traveled with had reservations about staying in NYC, so this hotel was a fantastic alternative location-wise. We stayed here for three nights. My husband & I had a room on the top floor, and our friends/travel companions stayed on the second floor. We were there from a Friday to Monday. On Saturday, it was party central at the bar area in the lobby. While it was no bother to us, it did somewhat annoy our friends staying on the second floor. Therefore, a word of advice would be to ask for a room on a higher floor if you aren't the partying sort and value your sleep! Otherwise, the hotel was clean and comfortable, rooms perhaps a little bit on the smaller side compared to other Alofts we've stayed at. Overall, we had a pleasant yet short stay.

Very suprised for a Marriott hotel with the ALoft… The only good part was the location, handy to the expo center. Staff not friendly at all except housekeeping on our floor ..Jessica from housekeeping was the only pleasant person we ran into. Front desk all young kids who couldn’t be bother , lobby seating looked dirty.. The room was clean tho… we got free breakfast because we areMarriott members we couldn’t even eat it amd the 2 nd day we never even got breakfast it was so bad…the coffee in the lobby … better if they didn’t offer it not sure what it was , I took one sip horrible.. We never saw any that looked like a manager or someone with any authority… Also never saw any security… Avoid this hotel…

The billiards table on the first floor was a nice add-on. The room was clean and standard. What I don't like is this bathroom trend with new-ish Marriott properties where they try to be kitschy and funky. What's with the sliding bathroom/toilet doors that you can't close/lock?
The breakfast was the worst part. We ordered the french toast bowl (because they didn't ran out of the Original) and the description on the menu was french toast bites with fruits/berries. What we got was a cup of bite-sized bread cubes that can be loosely described as french toast. I have the expectation vs reality pics attached to this review.
Overall, I would still stay here in a pinch but I wouldn't spend money on food.

staff excellent, clean brand new. few issues that I hope is just because they just opened. 1. water temperature in showers was impossible to regulate, when it was hot it could burn you and it took forever to get it to cool down or warm up from the cold side. 2. Not an issue with this hotel, but Im guessing with the entire chain, If you are traveling with someone other than a person you dont care about privacy, the shower is open to the bathroom and not a door to close, it is behind a wall from the bed, If you are in the shower the other person can see you if they just walk around the wall. Its odd design and would be an issue if adult and children are sharing a room or a group of kids
