We’re traveling with our year-old corgi for the first time. This place is pet-friendly (with a nominal charge). Our room is on the ground floor with its own door to the outside; very convenient. The floor is a nice laminate; no carpeting so we don’t have to worry about him causing damage (which we hope he wouldn’t anyway) and more importantly there’s no remaining dog smell for him to worry about.
The entire property is non-smoking, which is important to me. The freely available hot coffee is excellent. Breakfast is cold cereals, yogurt, bananas, and canned fruit cups, and choice of muffins or bagels with four kinds of jam and cream cheese.
The woman at the front desk is friendly, gracious, and helpful.
Sackville is a nice place with an amazing Waterfowl Park!

I chose the Coastal Inn due to it's proximity to the supermarket and food places. It was clean and nice. My only issue was on the first night I literally flushed the toilet and something snapped and you could hear the water running and not filling. Called reception and the guy came up but there and he got it to stop running. A few hours later my son used it and boom....same issue. I simply opened the tank, filled it with water and turned off the main tap. Next day, same issue and no fix. Not even an offer to move me to another room or to call a professional. For the 4 days I was there that was my bug bear. Not an apology or anything and it's not exactly cheap. I would stay there again but only because it is convenient especially in a town with very little to do.

I stayed here for 3 days for work. It is an older, basic hotel but it served the purpose. It was clean and well maintained. Close to a grocery store and fast food as well as the waterfowl walking trails which I enjoyed in the morning. If you plan on eating the free breakfast brave yourself for all processed carbs... wish they had a slightly healthier options.

Hello janunder, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We are pleased that you were able to enjoy the Waterfowl Park while in town. Being so close to the grocery store and restaurants makes it very convenient for our guests. Unfortunately, our breakfast is limited at this time as our breakfast room is closed due to it's size. Unfortunately, due to directives from Public Health related to the pandemic, hotels are restricted on how breakfast may be offered. While we continue to do our best delivering breakfast to each guest at their door, we agree it will be nice when we can offer more options again.

Horrible experience at this location. The room was disgusting. Torn on the furniture as soon as you enter the room. Stains on the sink, tap was hard to turn on, and rust on the shower bar. Tiles needed to be cleaned especially around the edge of the tub. The roadway going in is horrible, pot holes all over the place. Asked to speak to a manager but was told that they don’t have a manager which is poor.

Good clean place. Beds were a bit hard and old. Breakfast was bagels yogurts muffins and some fruit. Lots of coffee and juice. Check in was good and staff were very flexible with our hockey group. Lots of fast food and groceries within a five minute walk.

This is modern, clean motel. The staff are friendly. The room was clean and spacious.

This motel is pet friendly.

It is conveniently located near the Trans Canada highway, a liquor store, a cannabis store, a grocery store, McDonalds and a gas station. It is located on a quiet street.

There is a very nice nature board walk two minutes away by car.

We stayed here while attending the outstanding Levee on the Lake festival! This hotel was clean, comfortable and the people working there were very nice. It's also close to groceries, restaurants, and anything else you might need. Lovely downtown Sackville is, literally, a minute down the road. We would 100% stay here again.

This review is based on one night we stayed in August, not when I stayed for a longer period of time in September (I am happy to answer questions about that experience).

Location: The motel is less than a minute from the Trans Canada highway and it is within a two minute drive from Mount Allison University and the Waterfowl Park. There is a McDonald's, Foodland grocery store, Tim Horton's and Burger King within a five minute walk of the hotel.

Check-in: The woman working was friendly. I almost dropped the keys on the floor as the motel still uses old fashioned keys rather than key cards. The keys are presented in the standard key card holders. Hence, I almost dropped them as I expected something lightweight rather than something significantly heavier than two key cards.

Room: Our room was on the ground floor. The rooms are average size. Our room had a sofa bed as well. The bathroom and decor is quite dated. Other guests have noted that the towels and bath towels are very this and worn and I concur in that assessment. The towels are paper thin and virtually see through. The TV has a decent number of cable-channels. The bed was fairly comfortable but we were woken up numerous times as the walls are very thin and we could hear every time someone on the second floor flushed their toilets.

Wi-fi: The complimentary wifi is adequate for social media and e-mails.

Breakfast: There is a basic breakfast buffet provided. There is always coffee available adjacent to the lobby.

Overall: The thin towels, the dated rooms and the poorly soundproofed rooms are the reason for me giving a two rather than a three star rating. This is a fairly basic motel but the towels and room decor is worse than anything I have experienced at similar priced properties anywhere. Would I stay here again? Probably not as there are better options available in Moncton or Amherst.

We stayed here for over a week when we dropped our son to college at Mt Allison . The Inn is about a kilometre from the Uni. The room with 2 double beds was clean and comfortable with a microwave and a fridge . There is a continental style breakfast - bagels , cereal , toast , muffins and fruit served every morning which is convenient. There is coffee from a machine available 24 hours . All the staff were really helpful and friendly .

Dear doitwhileyoucan71 Thank you for taking the time to write us a great review. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Sackville. Our staff value our guests' opinions and appreciate it when they compliment them. Hot coffee and tea are available to our guests whenever they like. Being just a block from the highway at Exit 504 makes it a convenient stopover, for however long you choose. We hope you will return to stay with us again soon and that your son is doing well at Mount Allison.

Are there any rooms that have drive up access? I'd prefer an outside door!
Thank you Stephanie for your question, we do have rooms with outside doors, but we do not have drive-ups at our location. You may park long enough to load up or unload your luggage, but you may not stay parked in front of your room for any extended period of time. We have a fire lane that wraps tightly around the building. We look forward to you staying with us, Front Desk Staff

Can we get a cot for our teen in a two twin room?
Answer from Ron T
Dieppe, Canada1 contribution
At Coastal Inn Sackville we have nap cots for smaller children, however these would not be suitable for a teen. Our rooms with two beds have two double extra long beds (54"W x 80"L). These are the same length as a queen bed, therefore much more suitable for two adults than the regular length double beds.
