Cons:
1. The front desk staff were unwelcoming to say the least. They could not be bothered for anything.
2. Basic amenities that are typical in any average hotel was not available. Example: you couldn’t purchase a soft drink. Water was not complimentary while waiting to check in. You can purchase a Deer Park water for $2 though.
3. Breakfast buffet, wasn’t much of a buffet at all. $18.50 +tax for bagels, very little fruit, runny eggs, undercooked bacon (thought I heard the pig snort it was so undercooked), oatmeal paste, and don’t try to eat there if you have food allergies. But it is all you can eat so that’s a plus.
4. The air draft from the bathroom moved the window blind and if you shut the door for any length of time the bathroom was so cold you need shoes and a jacket to be in there.
5. Shower handle was broken; cold was hot and hot was cold.
6. Only one elevator worked.
7. The cleaning staff was knocking on the fort three hours prior to checkout even with the Do Not Disturb sign on the handle. Double-checked to make sure it was still there after they left.
8. The stench of marijuana was overwhelming. I’m not sure if it is legal there or not, but if so, upgrades to the ventilation needs to occur
9. The manager couldn’t be bothered and relayed messages through the front desk staff.
10. The shuttle only runs once an hour on the hour, while other nearby hotels run every 15 minutes. But it is free.
Pros:
1. The bed was comfortable.
2. Good size room.
3. A half mile to Penn Station.
4. Close to Nike, Starbucks, and walking distance to local restaurants.
5. Felt safe in the hotel and neighborhood.
6. We were able to store our luggage there until check-in time.
7. Not a lot of noise when we stayed there.
8. Clean
In the morning, 2 men were asleep in the lobby. There wasn’t anyone at the front desk and the workers at the hotel brushed it off or laughed. Also when I checked in, the front desk person said breakfast was aT 6:30 and when I want to eat, nothing was opened. They need to change this on hotels.com and the website And the snack section only had candy and nothing salty when I wanted to eat at night. I will never stay here again … just a terrible experience!!!!
