Detailed Reviews

The room was spotless and well maintained. The bathroom was extremely clean. The rooms have AC units in the outer wall. The rooms have a fridge. There is no microwave. I think there is a microwave guests can use in the general store. There is a TV with one channel. The bed was comfortable. It comes with 4 pillows.

You check in at the general store. Traveling from St. Mary's, the location of the motel is a few hundred yards past the turnoff to the road to the Many Glacier park entrance, on the left. There is a restaurant called Two Sisters about 2 miles in the direction of St. Mary's park entrance that serves lunch. It also serves dinner starting at 4. It's pretty good. There was a half-hour wait to get in at dinner time, but I was there on the 4th of July weekend, peak season. I think there is a restaurant roughly across the street from the motel that serves breakfast, but I didn't eat there.

The staff are extremely welcoming, courteous, and professional. There is free coffee in the mornings at the general store, which offers convenience store items and camping items. It has good coffee. I paid about $150, which is a lot for this kind of room but perfectly reasonable in the peak season. The Hampton Inn in west glacier, Kalispell, was $350. I stayed at that hotel in the off-season for $110.

Another reviewer said there is wi-fi when seated on the porch of the general store, but I didn't try it. I had no cell phone service with my budget plan, Mint; my google maps quit updating, so it was good I had what I needed loaded and I knew where I was going; I had a backup road map, which you might want to bring. I heard that there may be some service for Verizon. I'm not sure if there is a cell tower in St. Mary's, which is about 8 miles away, to the south. My google maps started working on my way home, traveling on 89 south. There is no cell service in the park whatsoever.

I was very comfortable in this clean, safe room, and I will stay here again when visiting the Many Glacier entrance and possibly if I visit the St. Mary's entrance.

We stopped by a week ago and had a wonderful stay, the rooms are spacious and renovated. It was a very hot day, yet the motel was nice and cool at night. The 100 yr old family owned store next door was great, got some souvenirs and snacks for Gunsmoke and Ponderosa movies at night. There is a great pizzeria a hundred yards up the road, it is attached to a steak house. We had the pizza and it was wonderful. After a great sleep on very comfortable beds, the next morning we headed across the highway and had breakfast at the diner. Fantastic people, great food and cool diner vibe going on. We would recommend stopping at Thronson's store and Moter anytime you are going to the Logan Pass. Great value, with fresh mountain air flowing through the room all night, the hospitality of these people cannot be overstated. We will definitely be back for the breakfast across the road and to stay a night again.

This is an older hotel & our room was fully renovated top to bottom like new. Our room had all the amenities of any modern hotel room. Room was clean and comfortable. Our room had air conditioning. The beds were comforable & we slept well. Mini fridge was a plus. The general store provided coffee in the morning & you could purchase just about anything you needed there. There was a cafe across the street. We ate breakfast there & the service was great and the meal was excellent. Unlike other hotels, you could have daily cleaning service if you wanted. We stayed here while visiting Glacier National Park which is a very short drive (6 minutes) to the park entrance & Many Glacier is right around the corner. I would stay here again.

Clean and neat, close to Many Glacier. They didn't have a single queen room on the found floor, so it was hard to carry all our stuff up the stairs. No microwave, had to use the one in the general store. Wifi only works in front of the store. Small shower with plastic curtain. The Cattle Baron restaurant is temporarily closed, so there are few choices for a good dinner.

We visited Glacier National Park and needed accommodations on the east side of the park since we were visiting the Many Glacier area the next day. This motel was perfectly located near the park entrance, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice the rooms were. We stayed in room 20 on the 2nd floor and the interior had been recently updated and the room was sparkling clean. To top it off, the bed was a good quality mattress that was incredibly comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

This place is great. It is a roadside motel that has been remodeled well! The beds were comfortable, the air conditioning a definite plus because most hotels in the area do not offer that, and it was very clean. Everyone we met working for Thronson's was very friendly. There is a fridge in the room but no microwave, however, the general store let us use the microwave located in there. Do not pass this place up!

Stay 5mi outside Many Glacier entrance. Drive in is beautiful. This little general store with accompanying motel and bkft/ lunch restaurant will not disappoint. Store has a little of everything. Meats, veg, milk, eggs other necessities. Rooms are large, comfortable beds and super clean space. Restaurant cute with good food and service. Family owned and this all there is to Babbs. Prices lower than inside the park.

Cute little general store. Had a wide variety of items from groceries to souvenirs. I forgot to bring a SD card for my camera and was able to purchase one here (had been looking all over area for one). Friendly staff. A little antique shop was next door filled with lots of neat items.

We were there at the peak of the season and didn’t have any reservations. Yet, we were able to get a room for 4 of us. The room was spotless. Small but we were not there to dance. Owner was extremely nice and accommodating, she even offered to move out things into a bigger room for us, when we decided to stay another night but were gone whole day on a hike. The store well supplied. Good price.
The pizza place in Saint Mary, next town south, had the best bread sticks and wings ever!
