Stayed 2 nights here. We had a gazebo site with the outdoor kitchen and grill. That was amazing. Check in was a hot mess. Had to get to your site then hike back to the main gate to check in. Front desk could not answer questions such as how to turn on the refrigerator outside. Lots of golf carts running around with no set walkway for pedestrians. WiFi was very unreliable. Fun to have the adjacent mini golf and bumper boats. KOA has a ticket stand we found by accident (back to check in being a mess) to purchase discounted tickets for the amusement area. The location was good to explore local areas. The real selling point was the fancy site.

The Port Huron KOA was a blast for my family and me. The staff were wonderful, the activities were fun and suitable for all ages, and the cabin my family and I stayed in was amazing. There are some issues though. I always see cigarettes laying on the side of the roads there. I don't like this at all. I also walked past a site, and it smelled like weed. I thought this was ridiculous. Anyways, this place is amazing for a weekend vacation and I definitely recommend it.

We went with friends the first week of July. The two room cabin and the site we had was clean and we'll maintained. The park is very kid friendly and I would go back in a heart beat. We rented banana bikes 5$/1/2 hr and everyone in our group loved it. Ice cream shop had huge kiddie cones that were $1. We purchased bracelets for sawmill city $20/4hrs. The park itself is also well maintained however the staff is inconsistent with enforcing the rules. I understand the rules are important for safety reasons and would never dream of disputing the value in having them. My youngest was just a bit shy of the requirements for the waterslide. She went with the rest of the group and they let her on multiple times only to have her heart broken a bit later by telling her she was too short. The attendant at the bottom and the top never changed and she was extremely hurt and confused. He told us he didn't see her. Perhaps he was sleeping behind his shades? Two more little ones in our party also rode and then we're turned away AFTER my daughter who was the tallest of the three.
My oldest and her friend went to the go carts. Again they were a bit shy of the required height and were turned away. I have no problem with this. My issue is with the fact that the male attendants allowed BOYS who were also not quite tall enough to ride, ride independently. I have never witnessed such blatant sexism and had a difficult time explaining what was happening to my daughter and her friend.
The facility has the potential to be great, but with the current help that they have, it's understandable why it's empty outside of the bracelet hours.
Don't let this stop you from visiting this koa. The park, washrooms, showers, etc... We're all very clean and well maintained!

My husband and I visited the Port Huron KOA during the Michigan lockdown for COVID, so all of the amazing amenities they provide for the kids were closed. The staff was very friendly and the campground itself is the most well-groomed we’ve visited, very nicely spaced sites, lots of sites with great features, like gazebos, Weber grills, rocker benches, and mature trees. Dispersed throughout the park are stylish cabins and lodges, also very nicely maintained. We’ll definitely return with our grandkids once the park is able to open fully.

When I told people we were staying here, someone said "bring a bike for your kid." I've stayed at other KOA's before but they were not as geographically large as this one. That being said, there are a lot of amenities here. There are two swimming pools (technically three but two are in the same area), beach volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, a gym, a sports area, batting cages, bumper boats, go-karts and other things. Really good stuff. The problems though is that most of it is concentrated toward the front so if you are in a cabin toward the back like I was, it is a long walk. They do rent bikes and golf carts but because there were so many campers, they were everywhere (many of which sold out if we had any thoughts of using them) and often times rode by people who weren't paying attention so you really have to be on guard to watch out for some of these smaller bikes. The go-karts, mini golf, bumper boats, and others that make up "Saw Mill City" are an extra fee. The jumping pillow, always a favorite with my kids, was broken. One of the events we were looking forward to doing had been moved with the only announcement being a sign posted on the building at which the event was supposed to take place. Even though we were early and could adjust, some people were not happy as they were late and had to walk between the sites. They also had a problem with movie night so instead of the nice free movie before bed, we had to pacify our kids at the ice cream stand. The kicker though was the lax enforcement of some of the rules. Loud music from the golf carts was prohibited yet I saw (or rather, heard) it twice. Marijuana was prohibited but we smelled it throughout. Quiet time was supposed to start at 10:00 but our street was loud until midnight. I understand people wanting to cut loose and relax (it is a vacation, after all) but if you are going to have rules, please enforce them. Otherwise, where does it go from there.
When we booked, there was one cabin left and it was the wheelchair accessible lot. My biggest issue was the size of the kitchen (it was small for anyone) and the lack of really any hooks. What I mean by that is if you go swimming and want to hang clothes up, there is nowhere to do it inside. We hung all our towels on the porch and rails outside which was fine but only because it was hot and sunny so everything dried quickly.
So overall, we stayed for our weekend. I wasn't impressed and didn't enjoy myself in the same way I did when I stayed at the KOA in South Haven. I don't think I'll be coming back.

First time at any K.O.A. We were not impressed. Rented a lodge for 8 people, four were children. We were told we would have supplies like you would at a hotel. We had one bar of soap. About 2.5 inches long by 1.5 inches. I washed my sons feet because the lodge floor was very dirty. His feet were black after just walking in the cabin to check it out when we arrived. The bar crumbled and broke. We were also supplied with 2 tiny body wash tube for a party of 8. The second day I went to the office to ask for more soap and body wash and the girl went to check and we were told that they cant give our anymore. I paid over 200.00 a night and they wouldnt even give us a small soap for a three day stay. I recommend renting one night then checking out and then checking back in, the price would be the same... explain how that works out for the customer... at least they would supply items for a proper visit. The lodge had a broken light switch so out porch light didn't work and there were light bulbs out throughout the cabin. I did ask them to come fix them the second day snd they did do that at least. There were cigarette butts all around the patio. They did supply clean sheets and pillows but you couldn't get clean ones for each day. The stove tops in the kitchen were dirty and the propane for the grill was out. Park was not to loud at night but dogs barking all throughout the park there would be no way you could sleep in a tent. The front office has very young employees who don't seem to know about customer service or anything about the park. I was told different things by different employees. No rules were inforced, smoking was allowed in areas that even had signs posted. I tried to call the office the first night to see if we could get the light fixed for the porch so we could sit outside and have light but they close early and there is nobody available.

I try hard to keep my reviews positive but I also feel like it’s our duty as consumers to share with others so they can know what they are getting into. Outside the Cabins are very well maintained and pretty. Unfortunately ours had quite a few issues inside. I had booked the upgraded hotel to have a “full” kitchen and when in the middle of cooking dinner I realized out of the 2 burners, only one was turning on. The floors of the cabin were so dirty I am positive they hadn’t been washed all month. You can see from the picture posted how black the white cloth turned from about a 3’ area. These things were gross and frustrating, but the worst was when I went to talk to the office about it they handled it terribly. First girl apologized but said there was nothing she could do. Then I spoke with the manager and she all but accused me of making stuff up to get a refund. I am a mom on a road trip with my 3 young children, and after checking in late (7pm) I needed to get everyone fed and in bed. The idea of having a cleaning crew in and maintenance at the point was not in the cards... plus Call me crazy but shouldn’t that have been done BEFORE checkin? So while the grounds were well kept and the pool nice, be aware that you will not be getting your moneys worth in the higher priced cabins, and if you do have issues they will under no circumstances refund anything or credit. Very disappointed.

I have been coming to this KOA since I was a baby. My parents made it our tradition and I have no continued it on with my family. SO much to do in so little time and we always have so much fun! But, this was our first Halloween weekend and it was cold. I was looking forward to taking a hot shower one night to only be disappointed that HOT water doesnt exist. I was miserable in there. Also, we participated in the spooky scavenger hunt Saturday night thinking our little would love that, but it was definitely not for their age group and that was not specified (she is 3). It either needs to be changed to include the young ones or stated somewhere on the activity sheet. Lastly, we had multiple people up there with us so all of our stuff was not able to fit in one car. My mom who has a broken ankle and is older got dropped off to us Thursday and had no problem getting through the gates. She explained her situation and they let her though. Sunday, when her ride came back up to get her and all her belongings, they made him pay $5 (for being there a whole TEN minutes) and park in the visitor parking! They then had to carry her stuff through the park and walk, broken ankle and all; she even asked for a golf cart ride and got denied. After all the money we had spent, I was appalled by the way they handled that situation. Unsure if we will be back next year to carry on our family tradition.

We had a group of us stay in the cabins. We enjoyed the stay. Staff was very helpful during our 4 night stay.
This campground has lots of rules. They are strictly enforced by anybody driving by w a few exceptions

This is where my issue comes up.
Many people had speakers on their golf carts while driving throughout the park and at their sites BLASTING music w F- bombs and N- Bombs.
I have young girls and they questioned me on the swear words they heard. If you want to listen to that, turn it down so only YOUR party can hear it.
It went on all weekend long at every turn. I asked one of the staff about the loud crude music and his response was I can’t control their play list.....He said, he’d spend his entire day telling people to turn down the music

It seems like PH- KOA isn’t a family environment after all.

We had a great weekend away at the KOA. This place was packed with lots of things to do and see. The resort is huge and the sites are nicely spread out. We stayed in a lodge (L306) and loved it. We had our own gas grill, fire pit and picnic table located at the side of our cabin. There is ample space both outside and in. There is a Keurig coffee maker and they provide 4 pods of regular and decaf McCafe coffee. The cabin is clean and lots of towels and toilet paper is available. We took a bike ride on the trail located behind the campground for a few miles and it wasn’t busy. Nice paved trail and you can take it down to the grocery store, gas bar and restaurants located at the corner. The campground has so much for kids and adults to do and the staff is all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and return for another weekend myself.

It is easy to get to . We took 75. Google maps gave best directions. Plus Port Huron is a short drive from campgrounds. It is a short drive from Detroit . Campground staff will help with any directions to attractions.
