We spent two nights at this campground in a pop-up camper during a trip through the South Bend, Indiana area.

I have to say that I wasn't overly impressed with the campground. I would consider it average. The campground itself is situated on a quieter road, but there is no buffer between the road and the first row of campsites. If you choose to stay here, you may want to request a campsite away from the road. I think that most of the seasonal sites are in a nice location away from the road.

The campsites (pull through) were fine, but there was not a great deal of shade. It wasn't really a concern for us as we were gone the entire day. There is a nice pool area which was quite refreshing. The showers and bathroom were average at best. In the men's room, there was very little counter space and only a single sink. The showers themselves were adequate, but not roomy. One of the urinals was not functioning during our stay and we were informed that they were awaiting a part to fix it.

For the most part, the other campers were quiet with one exception. There was a LOUD group not too far from us that was fighting and swearing. These were older folks and not just a bunch of kids screwing around. Not what you would expect from a FAMILY campground.

All things said and done, it was basic camping.

This is actually a review of Beaver Ridge Family Camping which was sold in 2015. This campground footprint is still here, but many, many improvements have been made since we purchased the campground. It is truly a FAMILY campground now. No loud guests because we don't tolerate it. If you want to have a good time camping, you can do that here but you need to be respectful of the campers next to you. And we totally understand your feelings about the bathhouse. Completely redone the first winter we took over. Likely the best you will see at a campground that charges under $40 a night for full hook-up sites. Definitely check out Maple Ridge Campground next time you come through the area. Your will be hard-pressed to find the old Beaver Ridge you remember.

It really wasn’t a bad stay, but two things could have gone better: 1) the check-in was on the front porch with masks and a six foot distance. And the store never opened

Also, there are some features that aren’t well explained: first, he WiFi isn’t bad, but you have to be near the shower house. Second, there is no formal laundry, but there are a washer and dryer in the shower house and finally, there is no formal dog park, but there are a couple fields down the road in back of the shower house (seemingly, the center of the world)

Heck, I’d come back

Good but not great. No signs to find the place!
Owners were aloof and not very engaging.
The store was never open and the pricing was
double what it should be. Very few sites with sewer hookups. It was cleanness and we'll kept.

It's the "aloof owner" here. I do take offense to being called that. If you look at our Facebook reviews and other websites you will see many, many people think we are quite friendly. I think we might have been called names because we wouldn't extend the Passport American discount for Bob past the 3 days it states on their website. We do have State of Indiana issued Directional Signs now. Anyone who has ever had to deal with getting approvals from the government at any level knows how hard and time consuming that can be. Took us almost 1 year to get the signs installed. Luckily, GPS takes you right to our property if you can't see the signs. Hard to comment on complaints the store wasn't open and it was too expensive. Want your cake and eat it too? We have it open during the week by request because we are just a quiet little campground. As for the prices, we (again) are a little campground so we just shop at Walmart and turn around and sell it at the store. It would be cheaper for you do drive to Walmart yourself, I know. And luckily it's only 10 minutes away. Less than half the park has sewer connections so that's why we recommend reservations to make sure you get the type of site you need. We do have unlimited free use of the blue toters to empty your tank, we also have a service to empty your tank, and we have a dump station, free as well. Plus the bathhouse is newly remodeled so it's a wonderful place to shave and shower and not fill up your own tanks. And thanks for mentioning the cleanness. We do take pride in our clean grounds and bathhouse.

We stopped at Maple Ridge on our way to MI. We stayed here 5 yrs ago when it was first taken over by the current owners, and to say the least it needed work. It is evident how much time, love, and energy this family pours into their campground. We were greeted with smiles and enjoyed every bit of our stay.

If you are traveling with another family, I recommend the pull thru site so you can face each other. The grounds are well kept, the bathhouse is immaculate, and there is plenty to keep the kids busy! It’s a quaint little spot and we will be back!!!

We stayed here and enjoyed our visit dispite the pool being closed. Store was open some. Friendly owners. Peaceful. No noise we stayed the whole week. Really enjoyed this campground. Very nice sand box (huge) and playground for children. Trails to walk. Even had a teatherball for older kids. Ha

We stayed here one nite ... reviews were good . When we arrived ( early 45 mins before 2) .. you go up to the private residence, the woman came bounding out of the front door.. gave me a map , told me where our spot was & could care less if I had a question or anything!
Asked if the people in the spot were gone ... she said (rudely I have to add)go look !
The water was well water ... nasty 😷.. we wouldn’t even shower!
We have well water at home ... this was not good.
The place had garbage all around on the ground.
The attitude of the woman was terrible.. if they continue to do this for a living... she better find some personality!!!!

I feel sure she will reply back to this with a attitude... she has on other reviews that were negative!

We went there for Memorial Day weekend and July 4th weekend. Me and my dad bought 3 sites for the long 4th weekend. On Sunday Afternoon I saw the owner arguing with a man that was leaving early and wanted a refund. She was very rude and then told me that my dog wasn't allowed in the camp store. (Which is fine but she really didn't need to have an attitude) then she returned to yelling at this man to leave now! I let this slide because it was visible she was upset. So Tuesday came around and my dad wanted to stay another week. He paid for the week no problem. Thursday he was in the camp store buying lighter fluid and the man behind the counter told him that he had "the trashiest lot he has had his he owned the place." Way to say thanks for spending almost $600 this weekend alone. Not including the 2 spots we bought for memorial weekend and the people we recommended to stay there. (3 people to be exact) that did stay there. Including one that has been there 2 months now. Needless to say we will be going elsewhere from now on. The facility is not bad. It's smaller. The pavilion looks like it could fall down but otherwise it's not bad. Just not impressed with the owners and their comments toward paying customers. It's their place so they can run it as they wish but they will not get anymore of my money.

My friends and I decided that the normal weekend in the city of bar hopping, bowling, dinner, or movie wasn't cutting it for us. We decided to get a group together and spend the weekend camping. I had heard of this place before from a couple different people and decided to head there.

When we got there, the people were great. Very helpful and a delight to talk to. It was great to know that I was owned and operated by one family. With the exception of some people that had to work, we stayed at the campground all day. In between the basketball court, the pool, and the playground, everyone had something to do when they were looking for it. I had a blast and would love to go back. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get away from the fast and stressful pace in the city.
