The Athens Marriott Hotel garners praise for its impeccably clean and comfortable rooms, with several guests enjoying the spectacular views. While the service receives a mixed response, with commendations for staff attentiveness alongside reports of slow service, the hotel's atmosphere is widely recognized as inviting.
The location is appreciated for its convenience to the city, though not all find it walkable. Amenities like the breakfast buffet and shuttle service are popular, yet opinions on the hotel's value and food quality vary among visitors.

The hotel is immaculate. The staff is gracious and warm. The location is ideal. The rooftop pool is fantastic. But let's be honest... as the world faces the next season of traveling, we're now paying closer attention to how hotels are handling safety and sanitation protocols, and from a recent July 5-8th stay at the Athens Marriott, they gave me confidence they are looking after every detail.
1. Masks The entire hotel staff was wearing masks. It’s helpful to know that they keeping their staff and the guests safer in this way.
2. Coffee/Tea Coffee cups in the room were in plastic bags, which helped me to know that they were cleaned and or/new instead of the same ones there from the guest before.
3. Hand Sanitizers Well Placed I was delighted to find hand sanitization units installed near every elevator, which is a high touch surface. It makes sense to push the button, get in, push the floor call button, and then disinfect your hands.
4. Touchless Menus The restaurants and cafes had a touchless menu, accessible via scanning a QR code from a card on the table, and then looking at the menu on your mobile device. This kept people from handling physical menus, which can easily transfer germs from one person to another.
There's much more to the list of safety measures in place, but as a guest, I saw these right away. Although nothing can fully protect us from coronavirus, these changes went a long way in helping me feel more confident – and even excited – about traveling in Athens.

Marriot hotel is a decent hotel. For travellers from India they may find rooms small since in hotels in India the rooms are quite large. The view from my room's window was beautiful. Here rooms do not have any call Bell. The housekeeping staff entered the room without checking, when we were inside, though he felt sorry and left immediately however such incidents should be avoided. Even when the room was booked on double occupancy still there was only one towel. The tea n coffee sachets were served only once in 3 days stay. At the breakfast there was shortage of stuff and they seemed to be less prepared for huge gathering of the group. Staff were courteous however were not capable of giving good advice to the tourist. We had to largely depend on our own research. Hotel provides shuttle service to nearest city centre which is a shopping place, quite interesting. Overall fair property would recommend for stay.

Dear PiyushPrabhakar, First and foremost we would like to thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience regarding your stay here at the Athens Marriott Hotel and we are pleased to read your comments about the service of our staff as well as for our shuttle bus. On the other hand we were extremely concerned to learn that you were not satisfied with the service of our Housekeeping staff and please accept my sincere apologies for the disappointment caused on this occasion. While I would not wish to make any excuses for the lapse in our service standards I would like to assure you that this is not reflective of the normally high standards that are provided at the Athens Marriott Hotel. Since the receipt of your comment we had a meeting with all the stuff involved and they have been advised to be at all times attentive to our clients. All necessary actions have been taken to prevent any similar incidents in the future. In regards to your comment about the shortage of the food items during breakfast, I have to inform you that most of the food stuff was NOT prepared by the Hotel but it was provided by an excellent -very famous- Indian Restaurant in Athens. Variety and quantities were totally under the responsibility of your local Travel Agents according to their estimations. Once again we thank you for your time and we are looking forward to welcoming you back in the Athens Marriott Hotel. Sincerely, Penny Zaglaridou General Manager, Marriott Athens penny.zaglaridou@marriottathens.com

Me and my partner just spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel. We were choosing to still social distance as much as possible and the staff accommodated this with amazing precision. Help was offered to ensure parking was available in front of the hotel, staff were very courteous and polite whilst remaining distant and all wearing masks. Front door staff were so helpful and polite, the reception staff were very efficient and seemed happy to have guests returning. While we waited in the M Club lounge for our room we were offered some great coffee from the Great Room bar.
We were made to feel very special as titanium members and were offered a great upgrade to an amazing Corner Suite. It was a lovely surprise. The room was amazing, with a great view,a large living area, a large bedroom and a stunning bathroom with a rain shower and a bathtub. The room was extremely clean and tidy and sanitizer wipes were available for personal use. Room service was sent in a timely manner and everything was sent in sealed sterilized bags. We had an excellent stay, thank you to all the lovely staff who are going above and beyond to ensure safety in the hotel.

We decided to spend New Years Eve at this newly renovated hotel.. We stayed at a suite overlooking SNFC and our choise proved excellent!! At the turn of the year SNFC had a wonderful firework show that added to the immaculate hotel experience we were having!! As we had a toddler we decided to stay in room and have room service. The in room menu was great and at very Reasonable prices!! The next day we had brunch at the ground floor restaurant where not only we ate more than enough but we enjoyed the lovely voice of a singer that was there!! I hope not just for the occasion!! All in all our experience was memorable as the hotel and its staff from the porter to the Duty Manager were simply EXCELLENT!! It is a definitely choise for our next weekend in Athens!!

I stayed in Marriott Athens during the first week of January. As a Titanium Bonvoy member I was upgraded to a corner suite. The full buffet breakfast was included at the main restaurant exceptionally because of the holidays, otherwise it’s only in the club lounge. The M club lounge was in the ground floor and it offers good variety of food in the evening, some greek dishes and desserts I had a chance to try, No bottled water or Soda cans in the M Club lounge, only Pepsi dispenser machine was available which is cheap for a Marriott. Shuttle bus schedule was only from 9 AM to 4 PM with no service on Sundays. You can use Taxis at 10 € for a ride or the B2 public bus at 1.40 €. One complaint, There was an error in posting my Rewards points to my account and I’m still contacting them through Facebook and no response.. waiting for this problem to be resolved.

The location of this hotel is about 5 km from Acropolis, Plaka district and other historical sites, but if you don't want to take a taxi or you don't have a rent a car, the local transportation is really good and you can easily reach everything you need by buses and subway. The Glyfada or Kalamaki beach also can be reach easily by bus within 15-20 minutes. There is a 5 days pass for 8 EUR to the public transportation. The hotel staff is very friendly, helpful. The breakfast area is spacious and nice, they have indoor and outdoor seating as well, the selection is quite good. The bed was so soft for me as I prefer the hard mattresses, but overall good. The only thing which was very confusing is the sound insulation in our room. We had a connecting room and you can hear almost every noise and talking from the other room next to yours as the connecting door is not insulated. The rooftop bar is very pleasant and they have a good fusion Asian restaurant as well, but you can find very good local tavernas within 2-300 metres from the property. As you leave by the main entrance, on the left hand side you can find a good kiosk at the corner selling almost everything you need and you can find also a grocery store there with 3 mins walk. The room is also eqquipped with a small fridge, but it's poorly cooled in our room.

We stayed here for 2 nights and the hotel was excellent, fresh, clean and welcoming. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and well appointed.
The Covid measures at this hotel seemed to be excellent, all the staff had masks, there was hand sanitiser everywhere, cleaning in the communal areas seemed to take place all the time. There was a automated temperature control in the hotel foyer. Everyone was very respectful of each others space and social distancing, I wish everywhere was a good as this Athens Marriott. Also the staff were still friendly and helpful even with all these extra health measures.
The communal facilities that we tried were the gym, the pool, the lounge and the hotel restaurant, all excellent. Breakfast was very good, with a wide range of choices, including omelettes to order which I really like, good coffee, fresh fruit etc.
We did not want a hotel in the centre of city so the location worked well for us. There is a great view of the Niarchos Park which is just a short walk away and we enjoyed a stroll around here one evening. Staff were very happy to help with all of our requests and we cannot praise them enough - thanks!

Our stay at the Marriott proved to be very pleasant. Rooms are clean and well appointed, and offer tea/coffee facility. Breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of hot and cold food. Staff friendly and extremely helpful. Although this hotel is not located in the centre of Athens, close to the main tourist attractions, there is a shuttle bus operating throughout the day. Highly recommended.

I would start by saying that this is not a bad hotel in general however from a Marriott perspective it was very disappointing. I am a TE member of Marriott Bonvoy and have stayed in a number of the brand around the world, some take the scheme seriously and some do not. The Athens Marriott does not. On arrival we asked if we would be getting an upgrade to be told that it was upgraded for us, this was nice until we saw the room which was a small standard room but from the fireplan it was actually the smallest room on the floor. The hotel website shows both a Superior and Premium room which have identical images and room detail page which gives the impression that the "Premium" is used as the upgrade! The lounge was not great and twice when I visited the drinks machine was not working. The happy hour was limited to a single choice of canned beer or red / white wine from a machine. There were a few liqueurs but only a couple and no actual spirits. The rooftop pool was OK but small and no real service, the lifeguard on duty was not really interested in being helpful or constructive about anything. Service in this hotel is not the best and the hotel is either very understaffed or the staff are very poorly trained. Virtually every order for food / drink had at least one element incorrect and was often very slow arriving. Even the room servicing had minor issues with no consistency with refills of tea / coffee / sugar / shampoo etc and even one day no towels (at all) were left.

Dear Paul J , Thank you for your review and staying at Athens Marriott We are sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay with us We did our best to upgrade your room but as you know upgrades for members are upon availability on arrival day and not guaranteed. Still we managed to upgrade your entry level booked room to a premium view one, although the hotel was heavily booked . We are sorry to hear that it didn’t meet your expectations . Concerning the lounge its operation has been adapted to the local and international covid guidelines so to minimize the risks for guests and staff alike with as contactless operation possible Once again I am sorry for your inconvenience, I will personally look after all your comments and I hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you back next time you are in Athens Haris N.
