A couple of things upfront about this hotel. You will be paying for valet parking, the staff is great and the location is excellent.
To judge any given hotel simply by the room is unfair. This hotel proves that while the room may not be exceptional, the other touches can make it worth the trip.
If you're looking to be close to what Downtown Tampa has to offer, this is a great location. It's directly on the Riverwalk and close to a stop for the Pirate Water Taxi. It's also a short walk to the trolley that runs from Downtown to Ybor City. That makes getting around the city much easier considering that you have to valet park your car at $30/night.
The front desk staff was nothing but helpful. Super easy check in, super easy check out and any questions I had about things to do or places to see were answered with a smile. The valet staff was great as well. Never a delay with getting my car despite the number of times I went out in a day.
My room was clean, but not spectacular. My biggest gripes about the room were that the carpet was heavily worn and dated, the tile in the bathroom was chipped in spots and the toilet had a leak (which I didn't report, but it didn't really bother me). Outside of those small details, everything else was good.

I recently held a 3 day corporate event at the Sheraton. The location, right on the river and close to all the activities, attractions, restaurants, town centre, water taxis etc was a real winner. Its a fabulous location. And the view of the spirals of USF also makes for another attractive view point.
Altho I have ready that the hotel has been upgraded, I do feel that with all the new competition coming on stream in the Tampa area that the Sheraton could up its game in terms of interior. Having said that the facilities and rooms were fine - apart from some aircon problems in one of the rooms on day 1, which was quickly solved. The AV team and internet connectivity was of a high standard.
The staff were great to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. The catering menu each day was varied and of a high standard.
I was upgraded to a suite and it was very comfortable with fab views of the river.
Overall it was a very positive experience so much so that I am planning another event there in 2021!

The location was close to my son's school, close to local restaurants and pharmacies and most importantly provided a nice place to walk each day be the river. The rooms were in need of updates, but the were generally clean, with the except of the balcony. It was pretty dirty. The staff was exceptionally supportive. Most of the guests were picking up their kids like we were, but other than that it was empty. Because of that, Jessica upgraded us to an available larger room. All the staff was respectful of our space and went out of their way to make sure we felt well taken care of, even if it meant doing jobs that weren't theirs to do; for example, person in charge of upgrading the property noticed I was waiting for coffee and went to the kitchen so I didn't have to wait for a waiter. They were on a skeleton staff and everyone pitched in. Most of them addressed us by name. Special thanks to Jessica, Jordan, Marcus, Ron and Sheila.

The waitress, Dorcass, in the restaurant is AMAZING!!! She is so kind and went out of her way to get me what I needed. It is not often that you meet such wonderful people. The restaurant is right on the river and has a great view.

We stayed here for a small gathering for a safe distanced birthday celebration for three friends. Upon getting to the hotel, we were not informed that there was a valet fee - we went direct through Sheraton Bonvoy to book the hotel, and this was one of the hotels that did not indicate valet parking only. Others in the surrounding areas did. The fee was $30 a day.
Our room was not fully clean - with COVID, we went through and used cleaning wipes to be sure that the room was as clean as we could make it. There were some coffee stains on the closet handles by the TV, some sugar stuck to the surface near the coffee machine, and the toilet bowl was yellow, as though it had not been scrubbed in a few weeks. There was no scrubbing brush in the bathroom, or I would have cleaned it myself. Also the bed sheets had a horrible texture that made sleeping uncomfortable.
The hotel had signs about social distancing in the hotel, and that guests had to wear face masks in the lobby area, but there were some guests walking about without a mask on - despite it being mandatory. We had to tell other guests to not walk into the elevator with us as they were not wearing masks. Also with the elevators, there were hand/finger print marks that were there all weekend. The entire time from Saturday to Monday, we did not see anyone from the hotel going around cleaning anything. Just one guy that was replacing the pool towels. If you are not going to actively clean the place, at least LOOK like you are cleaning it... especially during a pandemic.
The guy at the bar was not the most friendly guy ever, and it was clear by his demeanor that he really was not happy to be bothered by guests. The first day, he made a mistake and charged me for an extra cocktail, but he did make up for it the following day. His frustration with the situation was clear, and there was no apology either.
The front desk staff were friendly enough on the times we spoke with them, and they gave us a later check out at 2pm which was very nice.
Then there were some guests that were smoking weed. One guy went outside the property on Friday evening, and after lighting up, the smell was incredibly strong that you could smell it everywhere. On Sunday they were smoking it from their balcony, and you could again smell it.
Lastly the pool looked like it had not been scrubbed in a while, as there were spots of dark organic growth that were accumulating on the pool floor. From owning a pool for some time, that comes when the pool is not being scrubbed often enough and not enough chemicals in the water to kill it.
If we were to come back to Tampa, I dont think I would stay at this location again.

We paid almost 200$ a night for our room. When we arrived we were told that we would be required to valet park at an additional 30$ a day. When we checked in we were told that due to Covid (in Feb of 2021) that we would NOT be getting any house keeping services during our 7 night stay. The bed was hard and the linens were a disgrace. No comforter or quilt on the bed only a flat sheet then a thin comforter lining and a top sheet on top of the bed, keeping these three separate linens together all night was impossible then the fitted sheet was too small for the bed and would pop off in the middle of the night. The bed was hard and the pillows were flat and not comfortable. We had to bring in shopping bags to use as trash can liners and pile up the trash in a corner of the room all week since there was no housekeeping, and the same with the dirty wet towels and wash cloths, we had to have them piled up in a corner of the bathroom for the week with no one to replace them or take them out of the room. We had coffee the first morning but had no replacement coffee and supplies for the following 6 mornings. We were on the 3rd floor and could hear the traffic noise all night long. We went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast and paid $3 for a small cup of coffee and $12 for 3 pancakes and 2 sausage patties which was ridiculous. However, the staff were professional and helpful and the location right on the Riverwalk was Great, we enjoyed walking on it at night.

This is a belated review of a stay that took place in mid-June as part of a weekend getaway. I always try to avoid 'broad brush definitives' but thinking back I can say that I basically hated everything about that stay. The check-in was both cold and a bit rude. Marriott Elite status was not offered anything whatsoever despite their very low occupancy. The extent of food/beverage was bar service by the pool that ended at 7:00. Thankfully there were some locations along the Riverwalk that did have their act together. The automatic door returning from the pool area offers its own special challenges (multiple frustrated guests). My lower floor room facing a busy intersection was extremely noisy for multiple hours. I have a set of rarely-used earplugs just in case, and if you choose to stay here, I recommend you have them as well. Smoking is not allowed here (which is good) but my room had one discarded cigarette inside, and one on the balcony, as well as a BIC lighter. I certainly question their housekeeping. There is a coffee maker and some packages of coffee in the room. The expiration date on the coffee was several months past, and the sugar packets were crunchy from storage dampness. A used coffee packet was still in the maker from an earlier guest. The is no louver on the entry door to the room, but I would swear there was, as loud as any noise from the hall would come into the room. The door didn't seem to have a bad seal at all, so I can't explain it. Noise came from both sides of the room during the stay which doesn't promote any quality sleep. I do NOT recommend this location to anyone. I would not repeat a stay here myself. I did advise the night team at the front desk of my concerns, as well as a message to manager Andrew G, but I've heard nothing, and didn't really expect it. I've stayed a several Marriott properties since, and they've all been WAY better in communication and overall service. This one is an outlier, and a really poor part of the brand.

the rooms were dirty. 1st one on river view was not cleaned at all the second one was only a little better. curtains were dry rotted should have been replaced TV could see the dust. Dust ruffle had dirt on it or was stained, dont really want to know. Glass door needed to be cleaned the out door space was also in need of cleaning. We were suspossed to stay 2 days left the next day. Everything was closed except the pool which looked also like it needed to be cleaned. When I called they did not inform us that nothing in hotel was open, otherwise would have gone somewhere else. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone

I had THE BEST experience with the staff at Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel; I had my wedding room block here and I am so glad I did. I was blown away by the hospitality from beginning to end of our stay. The valet staff was incredible; they were the first smiling face we received when stepping onto the property and so efficient in returning our cars to us each day. The check in staff was always welcoming and willing to help us with whatever we needed. The food and beverage staff exceeded expectations in every area; we hosted a bridal shower of about 40 women in their banquet room that went perfectly- Mert and his F&B Manager were fantastic. We also hosted a "rehearsal" drinks by the pool for about 40 guests and the bartender was so quick and accommodating to everyone ordering drinks. The rooms were fantastic with gorgeous views. We stayed in a double room as well as a suite, and both were wonderfully laid out, decorated, and clean. I worked with Meghan for our room block and she was fantastic; she always helped extend the block for more guests to book and was flexible to the changes throughout. She never made me feel like I was a bother, and was so friendly in every single conversation we had. I was so impressed by my stay here and will recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in downtown Tampa! Thank you for a PERFECT weekend Sheraton Riverwalk staff. I can't thank you all enough.

We spent one night at this hotel. The location is very convenient, right on the Riverwalk park near the Center for Performing Arts and a dog park. The service was very good, specially for the several times they came to fix the key to our room that would not work. It was the night of Dec 24, they had cookies for us at the reception. The breakfast was way to simple for my taste. I think it could improve with options and a much larger space. The time was not very convenient, 6 to 9 am on the 25th. As a recommendation I think they could have offered a buffet breakfast until noon since most people sleep late on Christmas Day. Overall it was ok. My favorite, the location.

"Elevators get super busy as you get closer to 11am checkout time. Definitely take the stairs if you can or get up earlier to pack your car. Park elsewhere and walk."
