We stayed this summer at Lake Skaha Tent and Trailer Park in a tenting spot and it was a great place for families. The campground was very clean and the bathrooms were very clean. The beach is right across the street and the city playground and water park are across the street too, so it was perfect for the kids. The campground was quiet at 10 and it was mostly families that stayed here too. They also have two gates, so I guess the bigger trailers go through the flatter gate so that they can fit. I was told that this was a new addition to the campground from last year. I also price matched and all of Penticton's campgrounds were charging about the same. I could definitely see why they advertise as a family campground and I appreciated this very much. Overall, my stay was great and I'd recommend this place to others.

We arrived around 10:00 AM on the Friday of the Peachfest weekend. There were only a couple spots left and we got one. With the exception of a few campsites which are against the hill on the East side of the campground, all of the campsites are extremely tightly packed together. Our tent site JUST had enough room for us to get our car mostly off the road and fit our tent beside the picnic. Our tent was within 1 foot of neighbouring tents on the campsites beside us and behind us. No fire pit obviously. From what I've seen though, all campsites withing a few kilometres of Pentiction are like this. There aren't any provincial parks within a 1/2 hour drive.

The front desk was well organized and friendly. We noticed a couple times in the 2 days we were there people walking around picking up garbage, and the bathrooms were reasonably clean for the # of people crammed into them.

The best part about the campground is it's vicinity to the Skaha Lake beach. Under a 5 minute walk and the beach is excellent there. It is a bit of a drive to get to downtown Penticton, but if your'e more concerned with the beach and vineyards, this campground will do fine.

We stayed here so that we could visit family in Penticton. The campground was among the most expensive that we found on our BC/Alberta trip, even more than the KOA in Sicamous. I suppose access to the lake was the main reason. We stayed in a tent, and although it was not crowded, we would have been crammed in if there would have been more people. There was little shade in the tenting sites. All of this really didn't matter since this was just a place to sleep and have breakfast, and then we left. The bathrooms were nice. I had to get used to the code to get into the bathroom, though. I can see with the close proximity to the lake that they would want to secure the park and the restrooms from non-paying guests. The office staff was good and it worked.

A change from usual local RV parks that are strict with a long list of rules. The ownership here is more easy going and accommodating. They are very traditional here and the owners doesn't even use a computer to track reservations. This also means cash only. Despite this we love this place and will return yearly.

Pros - amazing location located just a 5 min walk from the quiet Skaha Beach. There is a playground across the street. There are trees in almost every site and you can hear the crickets at night, which blocks out the sound of any traffic on the street. The owners did not overbook their sites so we had lots of space to park our two vehicles. They were very accommodating in helping us out when a hose blew up water in our tent trailer. Nice neighbors helped us out...a good sign of the clientele at this campsite. We were able to book early in February which gave us peace of mind in planning our trip. We were there 6 nights. Bathrooms were clean and I never had to wait for a shower.
Cons - on the final night, we had tents surrounding us and were woken up at 6:00 in the morning. The sites are very close. We were mostly at the beach though so this didn’t matter during the day. Laundry was a tad pricy but not that bad if you have one load.
Overall, we would totally be back again. This place was very family friendly!

Not a campground you would spend a lot of time in. You have parks and the beach just right across the street to enjoy and relax. Very little privacy but you kind of expect that your not there much however, washrooms and laundry are a good touch and kept clean. It's a place to eat, sleep get cleaned up then go out and explore!

We really wanted to reserve a RV site at this park, but phoned 3 times the first week in June for a reservation in August. The first 2 times we called the number posted on their website for making reservations after June 1 and then we called the alternate phone number listed for making reservations before June (again, we were calling the first week in June). No answer and and no way to leave a message at the first phone number and a very unprofessional voicemail greeting on the second phone number. And, no response to my email, either. We decided that since their reservation process -- and phone system -- is so unprofessional, we have to seek a reservation at a lesser rated RV park in the area. Just wondering how the people who gave it 4 stars got their reservations made?

We stayed here 3 nights (even though we live in town) as we had family come down from northern BC and it was an easy way for us to visit and the kids could play until bedtime and we didn't have to cut out visiting short. It is a well kept campground. Bathrooms were clean, showers cost a loonie but lasted 10 or so minutes. It is right next to a busy street but the noise didn't bother us too much. They are also right across the street from a city park that has a play park and a water park. Beach is right there as well. No wifi down at the end where we were parked, but no one really needed it. There is Shaw Open available over in the City park if you really need to connect. Owners of site are very friendly and helpful. We had 3 sites together so we didn't notice too much crowding.

Room Tip: Race weekends are not a good choice as the barricades make it difficult getting in and out.

Pros- Excellent location near the beach. Mostly families staying there so no roudy stuff, and it was surprisingly quiet at night considering how close together everyone is. Nice washroom facilities with pay showers that give you lots of time.
Cons- Sites are crammed together pretty close so don't expect much privacy. We did get stuck beside some girl who talked loudly until about 2:00 am but luckily she and her friends only stayed one night. Traffic noise can get noisy at times, and one night there were drunks yelling in the park across the street.

Bottom line - This is a place to crash not somewhere you want to be spending a lot of time in. Earplugs help a lot to block out the traffic noise.

Came in with a 34' Winnebago. Got an end site right beside the freeway. Noisy traffic and emergency vehicles running down the highway. Otherwise quiet. Could not get Wifi eventhough its available but you have to go up to the office/arcade area to get it. Lots of people sitting up there with their phones & laptops. I had to use data which I ran out of and had to pay extra for my phone plan just for the 2 days we were there. Lots of dog rules. We would have like to have gone across to the beach or visit family, but the site rule was never are dogs left alone in the RV or you get kicked out. We couldn't take them with us to some places we would have liked to have gone too and our dogs would have been better off in Air-Conditioned RV, but we couldn't leave them alone due to their rules. Had to pay extra for the dogs/extra for the car that I had brought up since it wasn't a tow vehicle. Ended up costing more than I would have liked. Lots of stuff for kids to do if we had any
