We had a wonderful stay at Captiva beach resort. Our space was very clean, smelled clean and all that we needed for our three night stay was provided. We especially liked the pebbled floor of the shower. It was a quaint, well-cared for lodging, and we had a wonderful time walking to crescent beach about 3 min walk away. It was hot for the time of year we went but it was the best.

We celebrated our one year anniversary in Siesta Key and Captiva Beach Resort was ideal place for us to stay. All the rooms have been renovated, were stylish, and the common areas within Captiva had bocce, ping pong, seating, and grill areas; the pool was in the center of the loop road and other resorts/villas had access as well. Beach is an easy quick walk and there is chair and umbrella service to rent, also available were Paddle Boards and Kayaks, billed directly to your room. Restaurants and shops are minutes away by foot and The Villages and Turtle Beach a short drive. Captiva has great staff and offered incredible value. Enjoy!

Posting on behalf of my parents who stayed here one night before our condo was open for the week. Captiva was super clean. My parents described it as a millennial resort due to the bean bags that are out in the courtyard with the AstroTurf yard. They also said that there was shuffle board and thought they say cornhole boards as well. The room was more like an efficiency apartment, small but very clean. They also said that the shower was one of the best showers that they have ever used. Which is saying something since all of the bathrooms in their house are all walk in showers, since we are all very tall (6 ft + with the tallest person being 6’8). The best thing that they said about Captiva was about the mattresses. Best mattress they have ever slept on, so much so that they stripped all of the sheets to figure out what type of mattress it is so they could purchase one for at home (they couldn’t find a brand or anything, just a palm tree emblem from a store in Florida). This resort doesn’t provide chair or umbrellas like some of the other resorts, but they were okay with that. The beach access is near the point of rocks if you are walking along the beach.
Everyone that they interacted with that was employed by captiva was really friendly and proficient at their jobs. They also received two coupon/drink vouchers for the crescent bay club.
They would recommend staying here again and that it was a good option for a short term stay since everywhere else pricing for just a night is really ridiculous. They thought it would be ideal if you had small kids or wanted to spend most of your time at the beach since the rooms were small.

The resort is super clean. The location to the beach is is real close. We initially had a smaller room, which we preferred more space and without question the cleaning staff helper get us moved to a bigger room that we just loved.

A day and a half getaway .. the 1 bedroom unit included private bedroom / living room/modern bath and kitchen accommodations. Clean rooms; the ac worked perfectly and it was really needed! The beach area was also well managed with staff on the beach ready to help set us up. Miss Sylvia at the main desk was over and above gracious and helpful to us. After we arrived home I discovered I had left my address book/day planner in the room. Here we were in in the middle of a holiday weekend, but a couple phone calls to the front desk put us in the wonderful hands of Miss Sylvia who then helped us manage a UPS pickup so that I could receive the day planner as fast as humanly possible. And she did it all with professionalism - fielding phone calls and directing me and the UPS people to the wonderful result of the delivery to my home the day after the holiday!

This place is amazing! Nicely decorated and clean. The beach access was a a walk away from our room which is great! There’s seating and a ping pong table outside of our room. Beach towels are included in our stay and they also gave us free hand sanitizer. Definitely coming back.

Captiva is a super cute motel close to the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and bars in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful, the area was peacefiul and safe and parking was easy. We stayed just two nights and our room was small, but clean, comfortable and perfect for our short trip! Towels are provided for the beach and if you want to rent a beach chair they can charge it to your room, which makes that easy!

We’ve been coming here for several years and have always enjoyed our stays until this year when the lock to our room wasn’t working and we couldn’t leave until they replaced the smart lock an hour later. If things ended there it would have been fine however, the following morning on our way to the beach we couldn’t lock our room again. Jennifer, one of the Mgrs walked over angrily and accused us of not using it correctly and said she didn’t know if or how it would be fixed, as if we would be stuck without being able to leave out room locked. When we asked about what she would do, she threw up her hands and said “I don’t know” and said she didn’t think the manager would come to fix it again. Another long time guest who witnessed this entire exchange came over and expressed shock at how rudely we had been treated. Even a housekeeper standing nearby was expressing concern, whereas Jennifer just walked away leaving us standing there amazed at her attitude. Eventually the handyman came by and replaced the battery in the lock and it seems to be working, albeit not very consistent and still requires many attempts to lock/unlock. As much as we like this little hotel I’m not sure we will return if this type of treatment is considered acceptable. The safety and security of guests should be of paramount concern of any hotel and if they don’t have basic door locks that work it’s a problem.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Captiva Beach Resort in "room" 28. It was spacious and relaxing. The only recommendation I have is to provide a broom and dustpan in each room, because the sand gets everywhere. I do not mind sweeping up in between room freshenings. I loved having the 2 bathrooms available with the 4 of us staying there. The bed was comfortable. It would be nice to be able to swim in the pool anytime since there weather is great even after "closing." I hope to make our visit there yearly if the prices remain doable. Just got back from my second stay at Captiva over the weekend. This place is great, close to everything, nice rooms and has all the amenities you need for a beach vacation. All the staff- especially their manager are amazing. Jack was so kind, helpful and courteous the whole stay. When we checked in, initially we didn't like our room very much (they have 3 basic rooms which you will normally end up getting if you book through a third party and which are a little dated). We asked to move to another room and he had no problem moving us right away. He went above and beyond the entire time to make sure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable.
The hotel itself is small and quaint, it has a private beach which they share with surrounding resorts. The hotel has beach chairs, beach towels, bicycles, boogie boards (I think), and all the rooms have kitchens with all the basics you would need. You don't need to pack a lot to stay here! A few restaurants and a supermarket are walking distance, and siesta public beach is about a 8 minute drive away. What's nicer though, is starting out at the resorts private beach and then walking along the water for about 25-30 minutes maybe, and you will end up at the public beach.
I will definitely be going back soon and will recommend all my friends to stay there when they are in Sarasota :)
