I love this place, specifically condo #604 which is right on the beach. It has been tastefully redone so disregard any older reviews. I am pretty picky about furnishings and decor, and I found this condo lovely. It has most everything you need for a stay, including beach chairs and umbrellas, towels (minus beach towels), etc. It has two patios: one overlooking the beach off of the master suite (with cute wicker rocking chairs!) and one off of the living and dining rooms with an ocean view. The pool is nothing special but since I only care about the beach, that didn’t bother me. The grounds are well tended. Some restaurants are walking distance (0.4 miles’ish) but you need to drive to most. We are from Michigan and have stayed in many beach towns all over Florida - so far this is our favorite!

We rented Unit 206 for the month of February. We shared with another couple and were there the second half. Our unit was close to the parking lot on one side and had a beautiful view of the Gulf on the other. The walk to the beach was easy with a boardwalk. The grounds were beautiful and well-maintained.

It was roomy with a family room, dining room and kitchen open area, and two bedrooms. The master bedroom had a bathroom and a king size bed. The other bedroom had two single beds and a bathroom off the hall. The beds were very comfortable. The best part was the roomy screened-in porch with a dining table and view of the Gulf. There were ceiling fans in every room and on the porch, making A/C unnecessary on some days in February.

We had the room cleaned halfway through the month for a low fee and the work was fine including clean sheets and towels. There was a laundry room available with reasonable prices for the washers and dryers.

The kitchen was well supplied (the only thing we missed was a cookie sheet). We asked about a Keurig when we made the reservation and one was specially supplied.

Our only problem was with electrical outlets. There weren't enough and some didn't work. The bedroom had bedside lights but no way to switch them on from the doorway. Also the pool is rather small and filled up fast in the morning.

The service was superb from the front desk when making the reservations and when we were there. The cleaning staff was also friendly and thorough.

There were TVs in every room with an excellent channel selection as well as very good Wifi.

We would definitely return and recommend it highly.

We are frequent, annual and sometimes bi-annual visitors to Sanibel Siesta and have been for years. The facility is right on the beach, south end of the island, and if you can get units 503, 506, 603 or 606 you'll have a direct view to the beach, just a couple hundred feet away. The buildings are two stories plus the ground floor parking garage which is nice and handy. I'm sure we had not stayed in 503 before, but we did stay in the other end units. Every condo on the property is similar, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room, and one or two screened balconies. The resort offers other amenities that I won't explain here.

Our first night in late July in Unit 503 proved to be quite interesting. The unit itself is well-kept though the stove is a bit tired but everything else is super clean and nicely kept. At about 10:30 pm I visited the master bathroom and upon leaving was suddenly overwhelmed with a sensation of freezing cold. I was uncontrollably shaking; my teeth were literally chattering, however I was not afraid. This went on for a moment or two and I wondered, could this be a sudden onset of Covid (since that's so top of mind these days). I went out to the screened in porch off the bedroom to try and warm up in the warm, humid air, and after a couple of minutes, I was OK. I didn't say anything at the time to my wife and as stated, I was unafraid, but sure that I had been "visited." That same night, at 4 am, we both awoke to the sound of something crashing to the tile floor in the kitchen. A can of Lysol spray we had was found on the floor. Either it jumped off the counter by itself or was "helped." I am quite sure it was not balanced on the edge of the counter or anything like that.

Now, to be clear, neither of us are fans of the occult or anything like that, though we have both had "contact" in the past. Nothing scary; comforting actually, but nothing that occupies our focus. Stuff happens. So, if you happen to visit Sanibel Siesta and you happen to get Unit 503 facing the Gulf, you also may have a "visit" but don't alarm yourself. It was the only such occurrence we had during the several days of our visit. In fact, it was forgotten about by the next day. FYI, I did ask the management office if there had been other reports but they said they were not aware of any and they did not mind my mentioning our experience in this unit.

Footnote: The water was very clear during our visit with no seaweed or red tide issues. The shelling is not the best on the south end; if you like to find some shell treasures, you'll need to visit Turner Beach or locations that face west. Restaurants and stores throughout the island were actively observing all pandemic safety precautions and the island was not crowded. P.S.: I did not have a sudden onset of Covid, thankfully; it was just a "visit." From what or whom, I do not know. Be well.

My family (four generations) and I spent the week of Thanksgiving (Sunday to Sunday) at the Sanibel Siesta and it once again was just the Perfect place to be. We were Lucky enough to have found this place in the past (please see my previous review of April 2015), so once we knew we could all be together for this holiday, we knew exactly where to book. Once again, Pat and Sarah and Brenda really make the place seem like a home away from home, taking such good care of us before and during our stay, answering every question and accommodating every request. We rented 3 condos (104, 105, and 106) next to each other in building 1, giving us the whole second floor to ourselves. All of the condos are equipped with glass screen doors, so when each family got up in the morning, we opened the front door (leaving the glass screen door closed so as not to disturb the air conditioning), and then we moved freely between apartments. It was Wonderful to have all those rooms and 3 kitchens during the whole week for the 12 of us. Each apartment was spacious, lovely, and well-appointed with everything needed for the week. Each has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a large balcony. All have a king sized bed in the master and most have 2 twins that can be made into a king in the second bedroom. This was the case for 104 and 106, but 105 has a full bed with a trundle instead of 2 twins. We were able to make this work for us by switching our families around, but this is important to know if you want that second bedroom to be made into a king. Also, each apartment has an outside closet filled with beach chairs and toys that just complete the stay. Because we were Co-Vid conscious, we ordered in Island Pizza on our first night (a family tradition), and then after an enormous Publix shop (15 minutes away), we stayed in for the rest of the week, popping into Jerry’s (5 minutes away) once or twice for fill-in groceries as needed. Sanibel Siesta is in a great location on the island, right on the beach, reasonably priced, and just right for a family reunion!

First of all let me state Sara and the staff that booked my stay were very kind and professional.
My review is based on the unit 308 and it's condition.
A few of the major concerns and comments are ,
Heating System inoperable on heat mode plus mold smell emitted from ductwork.
Old dirty furnishings, torn leather seat, King bedroom Matteress completely worn out, rugs and carpet old and need for replacement.
But mostly a very serious plumbing issue " WATER HAMMER " causing a loud noise when the Toilet tank completely fills and valve seats.
This made it uneasy to flush too often.
These observations and concerns were made to the office while checking out.
Also while my wife and myself were leaving the complex we noticed a Carpet cleaning crew with equipment in room 308 I inquired about is it normal to clean the carpet and couch's after each rental and told that NO but the management after inspection called for a Service.
It was my Wife and my 44th wedding Anniversary and tried to make the best of it, My only advice to others is Don't depend on pictures and baseless opinions and verbal reviews.

Stayed here in August 2022, unit 703. Super convenient, beautiful beach access. The beach wasn't too crowded and was full of interesting things. I guess August is not the peak season though.
The lanai (every unit has one) was perfect for hanging wet gear (drying racks provided), and the furniture out there was actually comfortable to sit and watch the sunset or afternoon rainstorm. In most of the buildings, the second and third floor units share a garage on the first floor. So 703 was on the third floor, 701 was on the second floor, and they shared a garage on the first floor. The garage was equipped with plenty of beach gear. The unit was clean and equipped with everything we needed - kitchen gear, soap, the towels were not unlimited but we had enough. You need to bring your own beach towels though or rent them from the office.
The biggest problem while we were there was the internet, but it was really only a problem on Sunday, and as soon as the property manager came in on Monday he had it sorted out for us. Also he mentioned they are replacing the system, so hopefully by winter it will be more reliable. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
Medium problem - the mattress. Rental beds are always a problem for me. This wasn't the worst I've ever been on, and I managed to sleep, but it wasn't what I would call "comfortable". Besides the bed everything in the unit was in very good condition.
The other smallish problem I will mention is that the approach to the garages is quite narrow and lined with bushes, so it's rather hard to pull in without scratching up the rental car. But worth it for the covered garage, I think.
The location was good - I don't think you could walk to many restaurants, but it wasn't far to drive wherever we wanted to go. The island is very bike friendly, but we weren't about to try biking to dinner in the middle of August.

We visited Sanibel Island before the global pandemic this year! Looking back it was perfect timing! Patricia at the front desk could not have been more helpful and the two bedroom, two bathroom, unit was perfect for our family. We were within steps from the pool, with a garden and partial Gulf view. The lanai was perfect for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The beach was not busy and we appreciated the use of beach chairs and the umbrella. Rented kayaks were delivered to the property, and bike rentals were available on-site. The condo was very clean, had ample closet space, a queen sofa bed, an efficient bright kitchen, two twin beds in the second bedroom and a king bed in the master. This property was a PERFECT retreat for three nights and we will be back!

This is my 2nd time staying at Sanibel Siesta. This time we were in Unit 306. It was clean and decorated nicely and all of the units are just a short walk from the beach. Check-in wasn't until 3 pm but we happened to get into town 2 hours early. Patricia in the office was so sweet and friendly and let us park in the garage because the previous guests had already checked out. We were able to grab a few beach chairs from our unit's garage and sit on the beach until our place was finished being cleaned. We rented bikes through the office the next day, and again, Patricia was friendly and helpful. I highly recommend renting bikes at least for a few days because the ride into town is a short but beautiful one and it gives you a chance to really take it all in. We can't wait to come back to Sanibel!!!!

My wife and I started coming to Sanibel about 20 years ago to celebrate our anniversary. We have been coming back annually during April, May, and June. We always anticipate the trip (we fly our from Scottsdale, AZ), the restaurants, the beach, the relaxation, and our favorite unit. We just really like the location of Sanibel Siesta and recommend it highly. Ask Sarah at the office for recommendations on units to rent. She is a good resource for which owners are the best to rent from.

We stayed at Sanibel Siesta for 6 nights in mid January. There was not an available condo for all six nights so half way between (3 nights) we moved next door. The condos were like night and day. The 1st condo (which was located in building 4 on the 2nd floor) was mediocre. We immediately needed to have the master bedroom blinds and bed fixed (after a long night on an uneven bed and a morning of bright and early sunshine). The staff responded immediately to our issues and they were completed within two hours. The furniture in this condo was "vintage college dorm room". When we moved to condo #406 we breathed a sigh of relief. here we had "real adult" furniture with a very nicely decorated screened lanai. The difference was striking. I know that each condo is individually owned so make sure you do your homework and ask about the nicer ones.

Otherwise our stay was good. I'm not really sure that the pond in the middle of the property is a good thing. It looks very dated and dirty and does not add much to the property except screeching early morning birds.

One very unappealing aspect....when we were there the pile of garbage, including mattresses, appliances and furniture in addition to over plowing trash bins was very unattractive and we had to drive or walk by it every time we left the property.

Thank you for your review, and also pointing out that each condo is individually owned and decorated differently. We put the unit picture online so each guest can pick the style that suits them best. The pond is a sanctuary for birds and turtles. Unfortunately the trash is a different story that we were just as upset with. Waste Management was having staffing issue's, and there was nothing we could do.

Not a lot of food available within walking distance. The hotel next door does have a tiki bar with some sandwiches. I walked over one day and got a couple of drinks. There is a restaurant on a nearby golf course, maybe Blue Giraffe…you could walk but streets are not lighted at night. We had our car…and we are older…lots of restaurants and shopping mid island..I think I saw where there is food delivery available but I’m not sure if it can be delivered if you are not there…office staff was very friendly and helpful…give them a call…

I see an occasional fisherman on the beach (Surf fishing). The location of Sanibel Siesta to the beach is ideal. Check out Norm Zeigler's Fly Shop & Whitney’s Bait and Tackle both on Periwinkle Way. They could give a better answer.
