We arrived in the afternoon though before the 4:00 PM check in time. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and friendly though we were rushed a bit through the electronic disclosures. Why not provide a written copy to your guests? We were told our room was not quite ready but were advised to pick up our "restaurant discounts" before heading out to the pool to wait. When we turned around from the front desk, we were ambushed by the "concierge" who had been standing right behind us. Picking up these "restaurant discounts" very quickly devolved into high pressure to attend a timeshare presentation. His tactics and language were not appreciated and bordered on offensive.
We were impressed by the size of our room. Really, it was much bigger than we had anticipated. We had a full living/dining combination, full kitchen, bedroom with two beds and 2 connected bathrooms. Reading elsewhere, it seems like the rooms were recently updated but based apparently not fully. While the room was cleaned well, there were signs of deferred maintenance: the caulk around the toilets and shower was seriously eroded and in need of replacement. The dining room chandelier was...tacky and very dated. Some of the kitchen appliances appeared original from when the property was constructed. One of the televisions had been updated to flatscreen but the equipment dangled awkwardly below the mounting. The other television in the room was an old CRT.
There was coffee available in the lobby some mornings. Unfortunately, the staff did not do a good job of monitoring whether there was actually coffee in the thermoses as we did find them empty. We also found Fox News playing in the lobby and would have appreciated actual (not faux) news on offer.
The exterior of the property was in generally good condition. The pool furniture was in good condition and very comfortable - a rarity. The pool needed a good scrubbing and cleaning, as the pool tile and gunite were filthy. How long has it been since it was cleaned?
The best part of this property for us was the location. It could not have been better situated for our purposes. Based on that and the size of the room, and despite the concierge with his timeshare pitch, we might return in the future if the price was right.
Regarding the unmanned front desk overnight, this was a HUGE shock and disappointment. Leaving a note advising guests to call a security guard on their cell phone for help is 100% unacceptable when you are paying hundreds of dollars per night. One night, 2 rooms on our floor were having parties past midnight which continued for hours. If security truly was onsite, they would have heard all of the screaming and laughter from the balconies and addressed it.....they didn't, so I can only assume they are also not onsite (like the rest of the property staff).
Lastly, no one at this property needs me to tell them that it is hotter than hades in August in Palm Springs. If you are going to have the balls to charge me a resort fee, at a minimum, I would expect 2 bottles water in my room every day. Not only did that not happen, only 1 of the 3 vending machines in the building had water available for purchase and I had to walk all the floors of the building to find it.
This property really needs to do better.

We arrived late at night and when I called to get soap, I was told I had to go get it because the receptionist cannot leave the area. She lied to the manager and told her she offered us a rollaway bed for the other smaller room they wanted us to move to. First of all, if I wanted a smaller amount of beds, would I not have booked that? Hey family, someone is going to get the short end of the stick while we traveled all day long and you need to sleep on a rollaway. If the receptionist could not even leave to bring us soap, which we went to get ourselves! How was she going to get us this supposedly promised bed? Her attitude was like you are offered a different room, so you are declining it? Obviously! I need a certain amount of beds, I put the right number of guests in the room. I did not make it up. I asked for a comparable room or larger at this point, when she judges me for not taking the smaller room. Of course, nothing was available.
We used it to just sleep and woke up so early to hurry up and leave! Dirty towels on the floor, women products in the trash, dirt and dust everywhere! Let’s not forget the loud noise from traffic all night long. Then awakened by the loud heater/ac? The receptionist is lying about stuff she offered us and of course management believes her. It was worth nothing, now I have to deal with a refund because the hotel manager says the room I stayed in was clean. Oh yeah, they also double charged my resort fee and refuse to give that back to me. I am so grossed out, do yourself a favor and run away from this resort!
1st issue.
Booked on booking.com which includes the bs "resort fee" in its price that it bills us. When showing a screenshot that the booking fee is included in what we paid, front desk said, "sorry you have to pay the resort fee before we can get you checked in, I don't care what you show me, you have to pay the resort fee and talk to the manager tomorrow. " being as it was 11pm and we had 3 kids exausted after a 4 hour drive, we just paid and went to the room (not even going to go into talking to the manager the next day)
Issue 2
At 1130 at night we finally get to the room and in bed with the kids and half way asleep then we are alarmed by the AC unit sounding like was going to explode. Too late to do anything about it we sucked it up that night, then, we told the front desk on our way out for the day and they said they would fix it. Upon our return, we hear the same sound from the AC. After asking the front desk what happened with the service, they said "we never sent anyone out but we will send them now." After Maintenance arrived we asked him to fix it, they said we have to move. We were then just given a room was less beds than we had people for. After asking the front desk for a room with the bed count we paid for, they said "we can send a folding bed in to accommodate you". After asking for a discount or some money back, since we aren't getting what we paid for, they said, no, we are upgrading you to a pool view. This "UPGRADE" had 5 people trying to sleep in one king bed. So at the conclusion of writing this, we are heading back to go to sleep tonight in our hotel room, one bed short... oh ... and this AC sounds like crap also! Mic drop! I'm out!
The room was clean and had everything we needed.
The staff were friendly.
Your room is not cleaned - at all as part of the standard room price. The hotel will clean them at an additional cost. This didn't bother is. They would replenish towels, paper products, soaps, etc., as needed at no additional charge.
Salt water pool which I used almost every day. The ambient temp was 18 - 21 degrees most days and the water was darned cold, but refreshing. The hot tub is set to about 103 degrees. The water and surrounding area were kept very clean.
Overall, it was a nice stay.
Just a bit about nearby restaurants. We certainly didn't go to all of them, some because of price and others just because there are so many and we ran out of time. Our favourites were: Sherman's Deli, Thai Smile, Bill's Pizza and Maracas Mexican.
