My wife and I stayed in a clean, comfortable, and quiet fireplace cottage for our anniversary. The compact property takes access from a one-way, u-shaped driveway. Cabins and attached units adjoin the driveway outside while common areas are located within. Our cabin entrance faced a small green with a small fenced yard containing a kettle barbecue to the rear.
The cabin contains a nice king bed, night stands, mantle fireplace, and two reclining chairs and ottomans. It also contains one full bath, and a complete kitchen with range, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. The kitchen is completely equipped with dishes, silverware, utensils, and cleaning supplies. In the morning, the office contains fruit, milk, yoghurt, granola, and a Keurig coffee maker.
The proprietors, manager, and staff are exceptionally nice and helpful. We enjoyed the ten minute walk to the beach through the Asilomar conference center. The location is very quiet with deer in the neighborhood - yet very close to Carmel, Monterey, and downtown Pacific Grove.
We highly recommend Andril Fireplace Cottages for a base on the Monterey Peninsula in a clean, convenient, and quiet location. We definitely plan to return!

escaped to Pacific Grove for a 2 day personal, quiet retreat-and the Andril Fireplace Cottages was a quiet, tucked away respite-across the street from the Asilomar Conference Center. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the fireplace kept the room cozy and warm-loved sleeping with the fireplace blazing. The bed was unusually firm, but, comfortable, and all of the amenities in the room was everything a guest could need. The newly redone bathroom was crisp white, very clean and easy to use (some showers can be confusing!). The front desk staff were pleasant and attentive, and the breakfast items were adequate (happy they had yogurt!) This is a much better choice than other nearby "cottage" type lodging in Pacific Grove, a good value for the $. I hope to return with my partner and the dog.

Thankfully Andril had availability for us on a short notice. We’ve been to Pacific Grove many times, but this was out first time staying.
We stayed in one of the cottages that did not have a kitchen. As people we like to make our own meals while traveling, this pushed us to use the bbq provided in the closed patio.
The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean upon arrival.
The staff was very accommodating, and it’s clear that they’re taking all the precautions needed during COVID-19.
This place is very dog friendly, and they do an excellent job of keeping the grounds clean and maintained.
Tip- leave the “do not disturb” sign on the clip of you don’t want them cleaning your room daily.
We will definitely be back!

This hotel is nice but they clean your room everyday without telling you. This may sound bizarre but most hotels during Covid do not go into your room at all once you check in. This makes sense because of infection risk.
We very carefully sterilized the room ourselves when we checked in since one of our travelers is at high risk. We were so dismayed to come back from the beach to find that people had been in our room cleaning it again!
When I complained to the front desk they told me it was my fault for leaving the green sign on the door. It turns out we didn’t leave it on the door! My kid brought it in the room before we left.
Long story short, they don’t do a good job here communicating their cleaning policies. If you’re paranoid about getting Covid like I am (but still want to travel a bit), stay away from this place till after the pandemic. This place does not respect customer safety.

Greetings and thank you for your feedback. We are genuinely disheartened by your experience as we have put an extreme amount of effort in going above and beyond in regards to our sanitizing efforts during the pandemic. Our housekeeping staff wear masks and gloves while inside very room, we have switched all of our bedding to bleachable fabric, we follow all Mon Co guidelines to remain open while ensuring the safety of our staff and guests. We can assure you we do not take this matter lightly. We have also started using medical grade disinfectants on all of our surfaces including but not limited to door knobs, light switches, remote controls and more. The housekeepers do not enter any room while the guests occupy the cottages. However the most crucial communication regarding a guests cleaning preference comes from the door sign. We try to make it very clear as the placard suggests. Green means service ASAP please, red means do not enter any under circumstance. No sign (as you've suggested you had) is a grey area where our housekeepers tend to err on the side of tradition and clean the unit. Had there been a red sign, a clear and firm preference there would have been no service to your unit. We rely upon a guests communication to meet their needs. We sincerely apologize that your experience was unpleasant but hope you can understand that we work very hard to ensure everyone's safety. We hope that you had a lovely time otherwise.

We couldnt have picked better vacation accommodations for our family! Andril was perfect all the way around. First the location was excellent, 500 feet from the gates at Asilimar and a quick walk through to the beach, plus an easy an beautiful walk to the town for coffee or dining. We stayed in Casa LInda and each of our family members had a spacious well equipped room, not to mention the couch in the living room fit our entire family for movie watching. The yard was great for the dog(s) and we felt safe and secure the entire visit. The kitchen was layed out so that we had 6 people working without any confusion during meal time. The compound grounds were pristine and our grown children loved visiting the private hot tub area on a few occasions. The office services were courteous and knowledgeable and the cleaning safe was accommodating of our schedule. Parking was plentiful. Thank you Andril, Cant wait to go back!

This is the only place we stay when we travel to Monterey.
The Andril is family-owned with personalized attention and my wife and I have never had a poor experience in our numerous stays.
The staff is very friendly and is there to please. My wife and I had to change our reservation from two night to one night stay inside the 72 hour window and they had no problem accommodating me.
The Andril is like our home away from home.
Beautiful setting tucked in the cypress groves on the Asilomar and a short walk to breathtaking ocean settings and beaches.
The Andril is very, very clean inside and out!
Our room was a king and the bed was very comfortable, great night's sleep.
The individual cottages give you privacy and are very quiet and peaceful.
The accommodations are outstanding, each cottage has it's own outdoor patio, table, chairs and bar-b-q., wood burning fireplace (wood is furnished), updated cabin, jacuzzi tub, and the kitchen has all the amenities you will ever need, full size refrigerator, microwave, gas range and oven and all the utensils, pots, pans, plates and glasses you need to make your own gourmet meal if you want to.
They even have your choice of hundreds of assorted genre DVD's at no cost for your viewing entertainment.
You can bring your pet too. If you normally steer away from pet friendly hotels because of those unwanted smells or other noticeable things, you wouldn't know the Andril rooms are pet friendly.
If there is a down side, the only one is there are limited cottages and the demand is high, so depending on the time of year, you will likely need to reserve your cottage several months in advance.
We have recommended the Andril to many of our friends friends, most had never heard of it and they loved their stay and were thrilled that they found a new destination at the central coast. The secret's out!!
If you've never stayed at the Andril, you won't regret it!

Loved our 2 bedroom cottage with dual parking spaces. Very clean and well disinfected. Staff very receptive and approachable. Kids roasted marshmallows at the fireplace. Great mini vacation from Sacramento Valley heat. Wonderful and friendly owners made sure our cottage was vacuumed extra well as one child has asthma due to animal dander allergies. Nice to see beautiful dogs and their proud owners within the property. Pet friendly indeed.

Place is phenomenal.
The staff is professional, kind, and efficient. They offered me a discounted rate, switched me to a better room and offered so many little amenities like snacks and drinks.
The cottages are clean, warm and so cozy. The property itself is immaculate and the town is such a refreshing calm from Monterey and downtown Carmel.

What a charming cottage, with full kitchen and private patio opening to a large green space perfect for walking our dog. The setting was quiet, and a short walk to Asilomar Beach and Spanish Bay Beach, where dogs can be off leash. Very comfortable bed, and the fireplace added ambiance. the gas line became clogged once and the handyman fixed it immediately. We enjoyed a nightly spa and even played ping pong for the first time in over 50 years! A newspaper delivered every day was a nice touch. Staff were friendly and helpful. For restaurants, The Red House Café in Pacific Grove was excellent and Fishwife, walking distance, had very good food but showing it's age.
Only two suggestions: offer more healthy choices for breakfast and snacks. Other than fruit, offerings were processed junk food and sugary cereals. Maybe some small, low fat/sugar yogurts or regular oatmeal with no sugar added? Second suggestion would be to offer guests the choice of reusing towels due to the drought.
We plan to return to the fabulous cottages every year or so!

We just returned from a very pleasant stay at the Andril Cottages. Clean, welcoming, efficient and careful check in and check out. All things attended to - fireplace was heavenly - guilty pleasure rarely indulged... decided it was a birthday treat!
Kitchen is quite pleasant - could have stayed week or more, given the space and ambiance! Nice to have such a "real" kitchen when eating out is problematic. Grove Market, in town and close, makes making meals easy an safe.
Dog loved the visit and the walks!

As someone else answered, most are separate buildings. I'm not sure what your concern is but, as I have written in my review, this is a great place and you need to make reservations well in advance. The owners/management of Andrils are very easy to work with and should be responsive to your needs. If you've never been to this area, I will tell you this is also a perfect location to stay...for walking and for exploring area such as Carmel, Pacific Grove, Monterey! Let me know if you have more questions.
I just received the following response from Andril Fireplace Cottages: All of their properties are pet-friendly. Although their housekeepers are great, people with allergies must assess the risk for themselves.
Washers and dryers are provided in the large cottages, such as Rancho Reposo, Casa Linda, and Pinewood. The rest of the cottages do not have washers and dryers, but there is a coin operated laundry place nearby in Pacific Grove, on Lighthouse Blvd.
Yes but they supposed to be leashed. Most people don't comply. Great off leash beach in Carmel.

Andril's is located on the tip of the Monterey Peninsula in beautiful, wooded Pacific Grove. We are just a short walk to the Asilomar State Beach, across the street from the Asilomar State Park, two blocks to 17 Mile Drive, 2.5 miles from Cannery Row and historic downtown Monterey, and five miles to the shops and beach of Carmel by the Sea.
